The Patriarchs Chalice - Tramp in the Richmond Ranges

- In this video, Sam and Kev take an opportunity to head out for a quick overnighter and try to dodge the rain.
Getting started late on the Day 1, they head to Lake Chalice Hut and manage to squeeze in a loop around Lake Chalice itself. Lake Chalice loop track is a fantastic walk and takes around 2.5 hours and at various locations on the track, provides access to the water edge.
After a night in Lake Chalice Hut and an early start on Day 2, it was decided to head back to the car park and drive further along Staircase Road (4WD Recommended). After parking up and a walk of around 2.5 hours, they made it to the peak of Mt Patriarch. Despite the strong winds there were good views in all directions. It took approx 1.5 hours to return to the car. Overall, it was a trip planned at short notice but well worth doing with many other tramping options in the vicinity for future reference.

Mid-Goulter hut is one of my favourites in the Richmonds. It was hauled up the hill and renovated. Few visit so maybe that is part of the appeal. The track from Lake Chalice to Mid Goulter is also one of the nicest in the forest park. But that view looks amazing. Patriarch is prominent, so it is 360º. You made the most of it.
Sounds like we might need to visit again and include the Mid-Goulter hut next time.
So awesome guys. Another spot of the Richmond's I'd love to visit. Seems like it won't be in my 2WD though!
There has been a bit of rain up that way in recent months. Hopefully after a bit of a dry spell you can get up there in your 2WD.
Another fantastic video, thank you! You are my favourite channel to watch for inspiring trip ideas. Visually engaging, informative, but to the point. I’m always looking left and right off the track as you walk to see if I can spot a little place to pitch my tent for my next trip 😊
Thanks Adventure OT. We need to get out in our tents again soon to.
Keep up the great content guys, The best tramping duo ever! ❤
Thank you for the feedback EditShortz00, It's great to hear you enjoy the videos.
