As a Rasta for 40 yrs I have never worshipped King Salassie as God. I see him as an inspiration that I have a king to look up to rather than just the white kings and queens. I looked up to him as a person who tried his best to bring his country into the 20th century. Building schools, universities, hospitals and wanting his people and those of other African states to educate themselves to centeralise and organise. He is the only black king to have fought a European country and win. I dont believe in a bible translated by a person who promoted bisexuallty. I dont believe in a bible that tells us to be obedient to slave masters. However I do believe that each to his own and big up and ask for blessings to sister Judy Mowatt in which ever path she takes.
The idea that Rastafari sees Sellasie as God came out of a cery specific moment in time when we didnt have the language and terminology to say a divine being or God elect or embodiment of the holy trinity etc. It doesnt take common sense to know that H.I.M. Sister Judy has been a Christian for a long time now, this is not recent news. Many Rastas themselves read the Bible and hold onto Jesus, and see His Majesty Haile Selassie as Christ returned in his Kingly character. JAH is a shorted version of Jahovah, and is found in the Psalm 68:4 of the KJV of the Bible. Rastas bun out the white supremacist approach to Christianity, but they respect the Ethiopian church, and know that to be a different thing. So for a Rasta to embrace Jesus in this way is not as shocking as the video is making it out to be. Bob Marley was baptised into the Ethiopian Orthodox on November 4, 1980, six months before he died, it was not on his death bed. Rita Marley is also baptised into Ethiopian Orthodox, as are many others. I have been Rasta for 34 years, and was baptised into Ethiopian Orthodox last year when I visited Ethiopia. His Majesty brought many to the Ethiopian Church, and to centralise Jesus, and we still glorify His Majesty Selassie I's name. Sister Judy is not dissing Selassie I in becoming Christian, she is respecting him and following his teaching. That is still Love. Blessed Love to all.

I used to listen a cultural talk show on Tuesdays. One Tuesday, the announcer was playing a recording of the late Haile Selassie. After the late emperor announced that he was not a god and that he himself worshipped the Most High God; the announcer cut the recording off and that set things straight for me. Why continue to believe in a lie?! Jesus is Lord! To the glory of God the Father!
What is coming now about Bob Marley is not true. I remember when his mom was singing at his death bed after all the baptism few days before he died, his mom was singing saying I know God will make a way, Bob Marley responded saying to his mother that it sounded like a joke. She was ordered to say she should be singing I know Haile Selassie 1will make a way. This is proven in the documentary movie called time will tell. So we rasta people know that most of the people who have seen that rasta is the only thing that is claiming people's attention, so they are trying by all means to pull it down but they won't. Even the real Christ being black is an old truth preached by rastas and now that it's coming from the colonial masters, colonised minds are now willing to accept something that Bob Marley new from being a rasta type of Christianity, so people will not listen to liars like you and Judy, not even Bob Marley's family.

To be forgiven of sins we believe on Jesus who died for our sins. If we die in our sins we are judged to pay the price of them aka. the second death, but if we believe on Jesus we get the gift of eternal life instead.

Judy is right. Bob did convert in his dying days. In addition to what she disclosed , there was an Ethiopian orthodox priest who said that he baptized Bob prior to his death. Rasta’s try to twist that as not being a full conversion but a Rasta rights of passage. However the priest was clear that Bob was converted.
