I am 55 years old and I grew up listening to Bob Marley music and it was during the period of our revolutionary struggle in South Africa. His music inspired us.

I really enjoyed this interview, Bob Marley is my hero, he is a person I studied closely throughout my life, played his music and imitated him singing his songs till I understood the message, him, bunny and Peter gave us their best interms of awakening our mind, bring truth through music to our generation. Their names will live for ever in the history of great musical prophets. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

One thing I know is that Bob gave handouts on a regular basis. He gave enough for someone to start something. Bob literally supported thousands of Jamaican families.. I also know he left his will open, He did this to see who the real prophets are and today we can see that they have truly exposed themselves . Furthermore, Bob paid himself the same amount as every bandmember.

Bob took 50% and the other 50% was split equally by the rest on the band. Even this made The Wailers quite rich by Jamaican standards at the time.

Listening to the conversation about Bob Marley,I know him from on the streets like out by Parade at Randy's records shop but. I been listening to the group from in the 1960s, as the Wailing souls and. I know that man like Alton Ellis, Derrick Morgan and Prince Buster, was way ahead of Bob Marley and the wailers. I remembered when Derrick Morgan sing the song for independence august 6 th 1962 ,then him and Prince Buster clashed in the 1960s . All those early years in Jamaica,Bob Marley was the wailers wasn't rated in Jamaica at all. When you listened to all of the argument about Bob Marley,he was not rated in Jamaica all those years. When he was alive, also the wailers only the ghetto people recognized Bob Marley and the wailers but. The upper class people them, didn't respected him at all. I useto go up into Trench town before he was forced by the Jlp party government ministers them,he and the wailers. When Bob Marley was living in Bully Bay,it is when Bob Marley dead, the jlp party government ministers them started to recognized him. Because of the amount of calls they were getting from all over the world, but they didn't rated him at all. I was wondering why Marcia Griffiths wasn't called to the meeting, because she have more information than Nadine Sutherland. Because he is a child just born the other day,Marica Griffiths like myself can talk from in the 1960s. Where we can talk about the foundation members of the history of the Jamaican music fraternity, like man like Harry Belanfonte was the first Jamaican to recorded a song in Jamaica. In the 1950s it was called mento music ,I remembered in school in the 196os. I was in the dance class and,it was Harry Belanfonte songs them they used in class as folks songs.I also remember the original man who was recruiting the singers them in Jamaica, was Vere John opportunities show. Most of the upper class people in Jamaica, only recognized Bob Marley since he died. Some people knew Bob Marley very late, they didn't know when he was struggling in Trench town in the 1960s. There is a lot of Jamaicans back in the early 1960s was a pioneer, for the Jamaican music fraternity in foreign countries. Like Millie Small my boy lollipop 🍭 was one the very first big hits out of Jamaica,Alton Ellis, John Holt, Pat Kelly, Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker, Roy Shirley, Derick Morgan, Jimmy Cliff, Boris Gardner, and the list goes on.

What was Allan "Skill" Cole's role in the band, other than just a special friend of Bob?. Was he responsible for sound, lightning or what? Most of us Jamaicans of a certain age knew "Skill Cole" as just a footballer . I personally was not aware of his other professional qualifications. I would like to be educated on this topic, please.

Greetings giving thanks to the most high god, Jah Rastafari...just making a point to the question of audiences, we need to understand back in the day the paetrons of black shows would never pay for a ticket before the show, most time you would arrive to a show to hear the artist don't turn up because them never get their work permit. and where shows are promoted it's not in the black communities we didn't look through Time Out to learn about shows, and so as was said by the time the black community learnt of the show tickets many times were sold out.

Don’t ask leading questions, or attempt to reshape or interpret the responses. You have credible storytellers, and we, your wider audience, can digest the material.
