I really enjoy all the videos. I'm headed up to the Sipsey Wilderness in a few weeks for a solo camping trip. I want to try my hand on the trout at the Sipsey Fork but just got finished reading Mathew Lewis's book on fly Fishing for Redeye Bass and thought I would try and catch a few while I'm up that way. Any recommendations on places to catch red eyes in that part of Alabama?
Virtually that entire area drains into the Black Warrior river and holds Warrior Bass where there is good habitat. Focus on streams with rocky substrate and avoid those that are overly sandy and silted in.
Go with what @coreythome9861 said. I haven't been that far north for Warrior bass... yet. But it is on the list! Topwater flies have been on point directly across the state, so I would throw something up top to start.
Too bad your sidekick missed yesterday! But… it wouldn’t have been as quiet of a trip since he talks like his mother 🤪
He said he wanted to go back next time!
