Clozapine: The Importance of Early Treatment | BC Schizophrenia Society Members-Only Event 2023

In this enlightening session, BCSS had the privilege of hosting Dr. Neelakant, a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UBC and a psychiatrist working at Vancouver General Hospital and in the Vancouver community.
Dr. Harish Neelakant specializes in the clinical assessment of patients, conducting investigations, and analyzing and evaluating tests and data findings to diagnose the nature and extent of a patient’s mental disorders. He prescribes, orders, and administers appropriate psychotherapeutic medications or treatments to help individuals manage mental, emotional, and behavioural disorders.
Dr. Neelakant delved into the fascinating world of clozapine-a medication with transformative potential for individuals living with schizophrenia. Through this event, attendees gained insight into how clozapine can help manage symptoms, improve quality of life, and potentially offer hope for those facing the challenges of schizophrenia.
