Hi Robbie! Thank you for this video and for the reflections you share in it; I find them just as interesting as your photography work. I discovered you recently, and from an outside perspective (maybe I'm wrong), I had the feeling that lately, you seemed very creatively fulfilled. I think creativity isn’t something we can fully control, and maybe that’s also what makes it so beautiful. There are periods with and periods without; the most important thing, in my opinion, is to accept that and to find a way to live even during those "without" periods. You’re an amazing photographer and a great artist in general. Thank you for the generosity you bring to each of your videos.
Beautiful film and a soulful rumination on the passing of time. Started following you a few weeks ago and you are always worth watching amd listening to, keep doing it Robbie. Wishing you a happy and creative new year.
"Not so great, TBH". You are not alone. Chit comes in waves and cycles. The key is coming out the other end, but also to recognize them, try to make sense of them, and finally, to find something to do when you are in the thick of it that you wouldn't do if your weren't in it. Happy New Year.
ahh it ebbs & flows Robbie...I was only going back thru some of my old fotos from 5yrs ago & seriously they r more...shall we say...more 'instagramable' than the 💩 i pump out today🤷♀....oh well...just get out there n shoot when you feel like it...but...it Always puts me in my happy place.Happy New Year to You n Yours Robbie.
This was a really beautiful way to start the year, Robbie. I felt seen by your mental health comment. I was struggling to make photos. Maybe I just wasn’t looking hard enough. Or self-doubting. I dunno… but I went out two days in a row this week, and it felt good. Cheers, friend. Looking forward to your content this year.
Another corker of a video - I really like the old oak image, for me it has an enchanted tale quality somehow. Glad to hear that you're sailing in slightly smoother waters once more and that photographying is boosting the mojo. You certainly have a knack for finding great light and subjects. The two piles of soil at 7:12 is a gem of an image too! Thanks for all your UA-cam ambles over the past year.
Nostalgia photography is a big part of my life. My depression has begun to finally ease in the last month or so. Photography, like life, seems to be one constant rollercoaster ride. Have a great new year now, Robbie.
The first pic if the tree on the golf course - magic. Hope you feel better and better and rejuvenated. Mental health... man, don't even get me started.
7:55 man been going through that for the past couple of months...one day I was shooting next day I lost any creative juice, interest in shooting or even holding a camera. It is doubly scary cause photography was my escape, used it so often to cope and now that the interest is gone (hope it will come back some day) I just feel so goddamn lost. 😅 Well, happy new year and have a good one.
Thats exactly how it is. I had zero motivation and kept saying I will get back to it and then a month went by and all I was doing was being lazy. I needed that escape to feel normal again. Hopefully you get back to it soon
Great to see you back! It's always good to just take a step back sometimes and take a mental creative break. Also this time of year can be tough to have the energy to get out there. Best of luck to the year ahead!!!
Appreciate the honest reflections, losing the impetus that creative outlets thrive on, and rediscovering them, well that's something your videos have helped with. Look forward to more in 2025
Lovely photography. There is a definite style to your photography. It has been a trying year for me, yet again so I share your worries and anxieties. We just have to keep our heads above the water and keep on going. There is no other alternative. Keep well.
"If a frost stay off course". Dudes! I've spent my whole life off course...
Oh gosh… it’s like the tree from Blade Runner! 😃 I love this weather, my favourite conditions to shoot!!! Happy New Year! ❤️
I wish I had more time before the sun went down because they were so great

I really appreciate that sentiment and I find it to be very poignant. It is something I will look back to when I have that feeling again.

Totally agree, my friend! Miles to go before I sleep
Been there, am there again.
Such is life
I’ve been feeling it a bit myself lately.
You are not alone my friend
