so cool how musicians are doing their thing... never knowing who is coming down the road..& here comes Billy Strings & it all keeps growing & becoming more beautiful. life is beautiful.....
Church Street Blues to kick it off..... incredible, this was a pleasure to watch and hear these two !!! Bela..say no more ! Billy Strings so young, plays with such heart can you imagine at this rate what he's gonna be doing in ten years ? Thanks for sharing this !!👍
Man that was some hot pickin'! Been going to see Billy since he got a band together. He just keeps getting better every time I see him. Love that kid! And Mr. Bela Fleck...it just doesn't get better. A true master of his instrument, and arguably the best banjo player ever.
Well I don't know about the rest of you folks but.... I was thoroughly impressed! One of the top banjoist meets one of the best guitarist 👌 It's kinda a like when peanut butter met chocolate. Wow 😎👏🎶
Bela is one of the baddest dudes in all of music, I saw him with Chick Corea earlier in the year and he can hang with a guy like that is quite the testament....Billy is an up and coming stud, this is generations colliding with greatness and beauty -I love it !!
Amazing duet. This is one of the best performances a bluegrass fan could hear. Thank you Billy and Bela for playing together and allowing this to be recorded. Saw Bela in 2002 at Humboldt State University. Can't wait to see Billy live sometime. Thanks again!
Bela plays with such grace and ease, its reminiscent of Chett Atkins and his effortless shredding of the Gretch. Both masters of their instruments. Then there is Billy, he's just too young to be that good, but it's real, he's bound to be the best flat picker ever if he keeps at it. It warms my soul to see young talent keeping the flame alive! Thank you guys, that was just amazing.
Billy: I'm addicted to Bela's new double album and I love the rendeding you did here. This is beyond the beyond craazy good. I hope My Bluegrass Heart keeps going and going and going... like the old Goat Rodeo sesions that Thile was in. You are a very gifted musician... and Bela is a musical genius! In fact everyone associated with this project has simply raised the genre a whole bunch higher - if that were possible. THANKS.
Every song was truly great. But the interplay between their playing coupled with the lyrical content of the song “While I’m Waiting Here” really got me. What a performance.
Why do I keep getting the Proud Father and Son Eager to Impress him vibe every time I see them playing together. I think that is what it looks like when you have a living legend playing with a legend in the making who both have absolute and respect and admiration for each other that it transcends the moment and literally emanates a familial type love that sweeps you in and won’t let you go until they are damn sure and ready to. I put this music up against any with utter confidence and conviction.
Saw bela with flecktones back when sinister minister was knew : ) saw him with edgar meyer at bonnarroo hes just incredible. Billy is so talented he posesses the skills to pick up any song like a sponge and make it his own hes incredible.
Damn I didn't make it to that show. Too many shows and only one me! Thanks for the recording. I saw a video you posted on top of the BMI building. I was right there and keep trying to figure out if I saw you! I'm sure I did. What do you record with? I'm just getting started. I sometimes use my Galaxy but mostly my RX100 VI. Keep it up!
sierramoon that’s how I felt too during Americanafest. There was no possible way to see them all, but I made sure to sneak Billy in every time :) I just use an iPhone 8+ with a Shure mic. Hopefully we’ll run into each other at a show soon.
@@MusicCityMaven I am pretty sure that I noticed you at the BMI rooftop. I don't really remember what you looked like. I didn't stay very long because I ran into some friends I know from the Cayamo cruise (are you familiar?) from Chicago and they were heading to the Memphis Groove and Grind after a few songs and I wanted to hang with them. I'm from NorCal and hadn't seen them since February. It was my first Americanafest and I had THE BEST TIME. My first day could not have been more perfect. Started out with the Sheryl Crow show. All day was back to back hours of fun!
I believe that is a custom Deering. There was an interview where he talked about that banjo somewhere - I remember the peghead inlay is supposed to be representative of Abigail Washburn - but unfortunately can't find the interview now.
My camera will take pictures without making that annoying clicking sound. Why won’t your camera take pictures without making that annoying clicking sound?
Brennan F hey, can you tell me if this one’s any better as far as audio’s concerned? My phone speaker is busted and I can’t really tell if the audio has been repaired lol. ua-cam.com/video/r0Yedn3tiZM/v-deo.html
I love Bela but he is one of the most physically expressionless musicians out there. It's weird when he plays with someone who does show expressions, it's uncomfortable.
The conversations going on between these two guys, blew my mind... So effortless, economical and relaxed. You don't want it to end.
so cool how musicians are doing their thing... never knowing who is coming down the road..& here comes Billy Strings & it all keeps growing & becoming more beautiful. life is beautiful.....
Billy and Bela? It just doesn't get any better! Two world class players period!
Lovely! I love Billy's broad range of styles and his ability to support whoever he's playing with. As to Bela - always amazing!
Beautiful music ☮️❤️✨inspirational 🔥💥
what a joy!
Amazing music
Good to see Bela do this kind of show again.
I saw Bela decades ago. He is the Billie Strings of the 1960's. Two of great gifts.
This puts me in the same musical mood I feel when listening to old performances of Tony Rice and David Grisman. I love it! What an adventure!
Thankyou❤
Thanks billy and bela love from.ireland
amazing

2 of the best live and most talented acts out. Would love a tour
This is cool, one of the best ever with soon to be one of the best of all time.

This brought a big smile to the face of this old Tony Rice fan. Well done, guys!
Perihelion77 Norman Blake was first I believe
@@dakotahraine9412 he was and I love Norman but Tony really slayed this tune

I have been waiting for this collaboration, since The first time I saw Billy Strings at Aiken Bluegrass Festival, I am grateful!

Travis Bessonette Trey Hensley “Hold my beer”...
Watched a couple Billy Strings videos after they came through on my feed. 100% just looked up “Billy Strings Bela Fleck” hoping there was a result...
Loved Church Street Blues!
Two of the baddest men on the planet!
I appreciate your music Billy, so thanks for sharing.
Was really glad to hear that song while I’m waiting here. Probably a Top 3 song.
This is perfection. Two great souls. Thanks so much for this!
Ty to whomever added this! 🙏🏼🥰🤯😍💪🏼🤘🏼
this makes my heart happy...
What a special treat! Thank you, gentlemen.
That was great!

Wow!
I met Bela in Telluride, in '99 at the Bluegrass Festival. He's as nice as he is Good on the Banjo.
Every song was truly great. But the interplay between their playing coupled with the lyrical content of the song “While I’m Waiting Here” really got me. What a performance.
I looked up 64th note in the dictionary and it says bela fleck. This performance is jaw dropping. Love both of these guys.

Bela Strings!!
Amazing! Loved it.
I just don’t see how he makes the picking so fluid. Those picks stick out like spoons. Such a touch.
thank you. what a treat!

nice. thank you!
New Bela album -- Well all right!!!
Ummmm... TOUR BOYS?!? HOT DAMN 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
This is too good! I'm not worthy to hear this. But thanks so much.
Wish the sound had been better, but I’m never complaining when these two play. My, Oh my.
I also thought sound was shittie?
3 thumbs down. Must be an illusion. Masters ! Amazing!
The Doc force is strong in this one.
Amazing stuff! I believe there is one more song, starting at ~15:00 - Cumberland Reel.
well done
Kudos to Music City Maven for sharing this with us. Tasty stuff.
Thank you 👍🏻
Good stuff ✨
You're good stuff my friend!

I believe that first tune was written by Bryan Sutton.
That would be Norman Blake, although I've always been most familiar with Tony Rice's version.
@@thinkpad20 Thank you!
17 people actually thumb-downed this...hard to believe...probably people trying to sleep or something...
holy shit 23:50 -> 24:20
22:29
please tell me who gave this a thumbs down? Was it accidental?
It was me, I thought “Bella” was a mumble rapper and I got this who ha.
Slipstream is really good.
Somebody needs to smack that person who gave the thumbs down. Lol
What guitar is billy playing?
He's playing a Preston Thompson.
They should do an album together.
What banjo is Bela playing when he tunes down to E or F? It’s not his 75.
I believe that is a custom Deering. There was an interview where he talked about that banjo somewhere - I remember the peghead inlay is supposed to be representative of Abigail Washburn - but unfortunately can't find the interview now.
Jared Reineck thank you :) it sounds pretty darn good!
Vocal mike too low. I wanna hear these great musicians.

Pepper Gipper just like Billy’s banjo player, Billy😜. He’s smiling a lot here with Billy tho.
