      I'm creating a series of videos on research and publication. I want to make sure that the videos are as helpful and relevant as possible for you, so I was wondering if you could let me know which topics would be most beneficial for you and your research needs? Any suggestions or feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

      @@saeedsharif Doc. is it possible to use PRISMA for PhD thesis Literature Review?
      Kindly

    • @saeedsharif
      @saeedsharif  Рік тому

      @@getahunsolomonofficial If you are following the 5-chapter format and presenting your PhD as a single study, it is recommended to conduct a traditional literature review. This is because a systematic literature review is considered a study in itself. However, if your PhD follows the format of PhD by publications or a similar approach, it may be acceptable to include a systematic literature review as one of the papers or chapters. I had a PhD student who recently graduated and followed this approach. One challenge she faced was that some of the examiners were unfamiliar with this format, which made her defense more challenging. However, she successfully passed with minor corrections and graduated on time.
      Oh! Indeed, the PhD student is the one that is working with me in Part 2 of the systematic literature review video! haha
      If you watch part 2, you will hear her voice.

    • @kbaakash
      @kbaakash Рік тому +1

      @@saeedsharif Definitely, I have found a lot of content on writing general literature review so far, however there's not much content like where it teaches how to split the research question and/or objectives to do a literature review for secondary research. I think that would help me and a lot of folks breaking their heads on how to go about the literature review.
      Another suggestion would be, specifically for theses and dissertation, there are several elements like aim, gap, objectives, rationale etc that needs to be covered, so a video on how to approach these things and how to show that you're writing your dissertation is addressing the defined research objectives, would help people score better.
      Thanks,
      Aakash

    • @saeedsharif
      @saeedsharif  Рік тому +1

      @@kbaakash Thank you very much for the suggestions. I totally agree with. I'm trying to cover these topics with practical examples rather than just explaining what research objective is.
      For the format of the videos, do you prefer (1) 5- to 10-minutes structured videos that are very direct to the point and quickly review the important points or (2) longer workshop style videos that discuss the topic and examples, something like this systematic literature review video?
