Very pleased to come across the video. My supervisor kept asking me since my first year to conduct a systematic review but I've no clue what he met until I found this. I've just been reading LT that I found. This will certainly help me to achieve the objective. Thanks Dr. Saeed.
Thank you for the comment! So, now it is the time to conduct a systematic literature review! And your supervisor will be proud of you! ;) All the best!
@@getahunsolomonofficial If you are following the 5-chapter format and presenting your PhD as a single study, it is recommended to conduct a traditional literature review. This is because a systematic literature review is considered a study in itself. However, if your PhD follows the format of PhD by publications or a similar approach, it may be acceptable to include a systematic literature review as one of the papers or chapters. I had a PhD student who recently graduated and followed this approach. One challenge she faced was that some of the examiners were unfamiliar with this format, which made her defense more challenging. However, she successfully passed with minor corrections and graduated on time. Oh! Indeed, the PhD student is the one that is working with me in Part 2 of the systematic literature review video! haha If you watch part 2, you will hear her voice.

@@pace-yn9gz In summary, formulating systematic review question requires defining the scope, using the PICOS framework, defining inclusion/exclusion criteria, and seeking expert input.
Thank you so much for such a detailed lecture. Do journals ask for excel sheets? also if we use more than one database then how to exclude similar results? I would be very grateful if you could help.
They can ask but I haven't seen such request yet! You can use excel to remove the duplicates. I think I should make a video about it. I also have explained it in the respond to comments here.
This is so useful, thank you very much! I have a question: To follow the PRISMA procedure, does the protocol need to be registered? Or I can just put it in the appendix?

I'm happy to hear that you found this video helpful! I'm making a new series on different parts of writing a paper or thesis. The video on writing a critical literature review was released just now.
See the video here: ua-cam.com/video/4OiL_6e5tog/v-deo.html
Let me know if you have any suggestion for my future videos.
All the best
@@saeedsharif I will check it out Sir but I have one question. How do you formulate a systematic review question that is fit for purpose?
@@pace-yn9gz In summary, formulating systematic review question requires defining the scope, using the PICOS framework, defining inclusion/exclusion criteria, and seeking expert input.
@@saeedsharif Thank you so much sir🙂.
@@pace-yn9gz It's a pleasure!
One of the problems that I am facing in SLR is how to write a good research question?
Thank you Prof for bringing more clarity on systematic review. Please do come up with more lectures based on different methods.
Thank you for your comment. Sure. I'll upload more videos soon :)

This was extremely helpful. I have been struggling with writing a review paper and I'm so happy about this video
Glad it was helpful!
Really awesome sir, thank you so much for the outstanding video
Thank you very much for watching it!
dear Prof. Saeed sharif, Thanks so much for this literature i really appreciate your effort. watching from Nigeria
This is so useful, thank you very much! I have a question: To follow the PRISMA procedure, does the protocol need to be registered? Or I can just put it in the appendix?
Thank you for watching the video.
Well! In most of my studies I did not 'register' it. ;)
Woowww.... incredible...My humble gratitude and respect to you sir..
Great explanation Professor. I really appreciate your efforts. I want to know the link of paper used at 34:40. Hope to get a reply 😁.
I will send it to you. Drop me an email at saeed.sharif@taylors.edu.my
@@saeedsharif email sent. You are a really wonderful teacher. I saw your videos and really got inspired to write SLR.
@@adilzia6870 Thank you very much Dr Adil! I just replied your email. Stay safe!
@@saeedsharif you are the best lecturer Will drop you an Email
Thank you so much for making this easy Dr Saeed. I have been tasked to do a systematic review but had no direction.
I see generosity there, Professor. Thank you so much. It was quite a life-saving video!
Glad to hear that! All the best! :)
This is the simplest way of explaining this. I must say it is helpful and insightful guide. A big thank you Professor. This will help me as an early researcher currently writing my SLR.
Glad it was helpful! All the best with your SLR!
Thank you so much Dr. Watching from Las Vegas the entire video repeating some segments again and again.
Thank you for your comment. Have fun in Las Vegas!
That is the most interesting video about systematic review that I have seen so far. Please make a video on meta-analysis in medical research as well, or even guide us on how we can do it.👍
Thank you very much Dr. Saeed. May God bless you. Please pray for my PhD journey to be smooth and GOT.
Thank you professor! My supervisor said that my research contributions are weak. Now I get some insights from this video :)
Just loved your informal style of presenting. I feel confident in using systematic review after watching this. Thank You!
Thank you very much for your comment. All the best with your systematic review :)

Thank you for your message. All the best
That was great Saeed. I really appreciated you sharing this valuable workshop.
My pleasure Atefeh and Amin!
this is a great discussion although i admit it was too long for my attention span so the speed of this video was at 2x. looing forward to the next videos on full text screening and data extraction!
Thanks for the feedback! Perhaps because the video was not prepared for UA-cam. It was the recorded video of a live webinar.
This video is a game changer for me. I see I was totally clueless earlier. Thank you very much!
Thank you for your comment!
