I think about make systematic review for my completion of course work. The pandemic destroyed my previous plans. My area is the chemistry, maybe need of the "adapitations" at the PRISMA (since it was developed for the health area initially)....I hope it works out! So I would like to ask whether I am heading in the right direction because as per PRISMA protocol, the word review or systematic review should be in the title. Hello Professor, thank you for this wonderful video. I have gone from zero idea on writing a systematic review to a 90. I didn't know until I was done with the introduction of the systematic review am working on that I am expected to use PRISMA. I will like to know if following the PRISMA method religiously mean my introduction is meant to be extracted from the list of articles I have included.
How to write SLR for certain topic which is never done before??, I'm trying to write SLR but can not find the benchmarking articles whether in scopus, emerald, and other dataset journal. What should I do Dr.??. Thank you.
If the topic is so new and there are few studies on the topic, what is the purpose of reviewing them? Let's say there are only 2 papers on the topic. Then, why do we need to have a paper to review that 2 papers? People can easily read those 2 papers. :)
@@saeedsharif Oh.. What I meant is like this Prof.. There are so much research about this topic. But none of them wrote about SLR or there is no article using SLR Method. It might be me as the first person who want to review all of the articles. Can I do this without referencing to other SLR articles on this topic?? Thanks in advance.
@@mulyadi_mr.7154 I see. Sure. You can be the first to write an SLR article on the topic. It may be even easier to justify its necessity/contribution. So, it may be easier to publish it.
I personally use Ms Excel to do that. First, merge the search results by copy-pasting the search results obtained from each search engine into a single Excel worksheet. Ensure that the title of the papers are in the same column. Then, remove duplicates based on their titles. Go to the "Data" tab in Excel and click on the "Remove Duplicates" option. A dialog box will appear asking you to select the columns or rows to check for duplicates. Make sure you choose the column that contains the titles of the papers. Click "OK" to remove duplicates.

Hi Khashayar, systematic literature review is a study itself. It means I don't think you can use it for writing your chapter 2 (i.e. literature review) of your thesis if you follow the standard 5-chapter thesis format. However, many who follow PhD by publications, etc. format use SLR as one of their papers.

Prof, sorry to ask. Is there any number of hits that that sets as a benchmark for a comprehensive systematic literature review, my initial search using the keywords is only 300+ whereas you showed that you had 2000+ papers that were obtained from the keywords search? Thank you Prof!

PRISMA can be used for all domains or for social sciences only ? I am from Computer Science background, should i be using PRISMA ?

How to write SLR for certain topic which is never done before??, I'm trying to write SLR but can not find the benchmarking articles whether in scopus, emerald, and other dataset journal. What should I do Dr.??. Thank you.
If the topic is so new and there are few studies on the topic, what is the purpose of reviewing them? Let's say there are only 2 papers on the topic. Then, why do we need to have a paper to review that 2 papers? People can easily read those 2 papers. :)
@@saeedsharif Oh.. What I meant is like this Prof.. There are so much research about this topic. But none of them wrote about SLR or there is no article using SLR Method. It might be me as the first person who want to review all of the articles. Can I do this without referencing to other SLR articles on this topic??

how to eliminate duplicate copy of papers getting from different search engines?
I personally use Ms Excel to do that. First, merge the search results by copy-pasting the search results obtained from each search engine into a single Excel worksheet. Ensure that the title of the papers are in the same column. Then, remove duplicates based on their titles. Go to the "Data" tab in Excel and click on the "Remove Duplicates" option. A dialog box will appear asking you to select the columns or rows to check for duplicates. Make sure you choose the column that contains the titles of the papers. Click "OK" to remove duplicates.

Hi Khashayar, systematic literature review is a study itself. It means I don't think you can use it for writing your chapter 2 (i.e. literature review) of your thesis if you follow the standard 5-chapter thesis format. However, many who follow PhD by publications, etc. format use SLR as one of their papers.

Not really. It depends on the field of the study and the broadness of the topic you choose.
