Sorry, this is the most complicated 'tricky' procedure I have ever witnessed. In the UK, we simply lay the patient on their left hand side, on a normal hospital bed feet drawn up to their chest. I assume the ankles are tied in the stirrups traps, presumably so patient cannot kick the doctor. I am glad he has no painful knee condition. Bizarre. More explanation please. Was this for colonoscopy, so the scope would enter under gravity, so cause less discomfort to the patient? I was worried the patient would fall off the bed as he tried to get on.

All over and done in a couple of minutes. The palaver going on in this video would put most men / women off going to their doctor to check out piles , or irritation, etc.

Ididnt go thru all that.I only layed down with my knees up and I was out.I guess all the the moving around went on while I was asleep. MY hubby went again for the 2nd. time 10 yrs. later because of nice procedure. JUST SAYING dont be afraid guys
You need to advocate for your husband's dignity. Help him demand male support staff for anything where he is exposed. If enough people stand up things will change.
Jim, i do have experience. Iam a retired nurse. Did work as a nurse in the military for 20 years, then 20 years at a VA hospital....I, have seen all. I dont need a scrotal ultrasound, but if i ever do need one.....a female tech will be welcome, and a female doctor can do the surgery....i dont like to wait.
I don't find it inappropriate at all. Whenever you go to the hospital to have anything done you are going to have male and female doctors and nurses. They all treat you with the same respect, and try to maintain your privacy as much as possible. There are going to be those type of exams that you might feel embarrassed about having done. But everyone is very reassuring and make you as comfortable as possible. These people are professionals and they know what they're doing.

First-year resident doctor and I'm doing many prostate exams on male patients and the female doctor it can be a little bit embarrassing but it's just very professional and I do it but I don't think much of the male patients have no problem with it testicle exams to patients of all ages young boys older men there's never a problem no one's ever embarrassed it's just me being a doctor and trying to get them well

He should have however had a male attendant but, it looks like she respected him and left while he changed into the gown unless it was edited. The stirrups are adjustable for comfort and safety of the paticent

They (Drs) have.told.us that.a DRE.is not.necessary to finding prostrate cancer any longer .. just the blood. Tests
Had my first and last DRE when I was in my 60s never again embarrassing and degrading

Yes a colanostopy can be 10yrs or 7yrs it's up to the doctor and anoscope exam is much easier to get esp. the prep
