Damn that was some cool footage and amazing editing. Loved it! Awesome Barrels. I was amazed the sharks didn't nail the live bail LOL! Cheers for sharing that! Dive safe, have fun! 😁👍🐟🤿

Dstick, This vid makes it look too easy. Sharks smash that bait all the time. Sometimes so fast and out of nowhere. Had my fins chewed off more than once, and sharks breach over my back for the live bait. It gets hectic sometimes.

sorry but there is no glory in shooting doggies from the surface, only shame, enjoy the show and let them swim, youre a better fisherman than this

I see where you're coming from. He uses live bait so clients can shoot doggies without diving deep. I suppose it's no different to burley or hunting deer under a feeder from a tree stand. People just gotta make it easier for themselves these days.

@@fishhunter348 yeah the sashimi is gonna taste exactly the same as if shot at 35 meters, but as I said already: no glory on shooting from the surface, I'd be ashamed to post this video

      Hey Matteo,
Thank you for sharing your perspective. However, I respectfully disagree and want to express that I am not only unashamed but proud to share this post. It represents over a decade of experimentation and experience aimed at making the hunting of dogtooth tuna more effective and ethical.
You seem to suggest that this approach is somehow negative. However, in my experience, it serves as a counterbalance to the unfortunate reality of many spearfishermen diving beyond their abilities and taking poorly placed shots out of desperation. This only highlights the ethical dilemma posed by the low land ratio of dogtooth tuna shot in this way.
And that's not even considering the number of guys I've seen risking their lives just to land a fish.
There's no clear-cut answer to what constitutes a greater achievement. It's more about personal judgment, as there's no definitive right or wrong. Is it unethical to use flashers and burley? Is investing in expensive equipment an unfair advantage over those with conventional gear? And is repeatedly hunting remote areas because you have the means until success achieved commendable or not?
But one thing remains true: regardless of the method, targeting dogtooth tuna remains an incredible challenge. Achieving a perfect shot on these large fish is essential, whether you're diving at 5m or 50m, using a 10mm shaft or 7.5mm. Ultimately, effective spearfishing is determined by skill and technique, not just by the tools used or 'unfair' opportunities.
If adhering to a purist approach brings you peace of mind, then by all means, continue to do so. I hope you land the fish of your dreams, and I will celebrate with you on your achievement.
      Chris
