Her voice is so soothing and attractive at the same time😭😍
Nur La grande she has a great voice
Kim K is like that
ShadowCrashed81 🤔 I don't know about that!
sure she is just search "kim kardashian ASMR"
ShadowCrashed81 don’t even mention her under my comments please. Not a fan.
What's really missing, and of course this is purely subjective, is a generous pinch of cumin and some fresh cilantro. Maybe a squeeze of lemon. Voila
....and a side of beef. done.
Stfu
And a teaspoon of smoked paprika
Sean Hyde Sounds good!
I came into the comments to say the same thing. Chilli flakes and salt seems like it enough seasoning and the ingredients themselves would add almost no flavour. It’s an excellent start though. I’d go for pepper, smoked paprika, cumin for sure, chilli powder or cayenne perhaps. Basically some chilli spices I suppose.
I love how she's everywhere right now, promoting this film. I enjoy listening to her.
Made this by adding onions (caramelized)and cubed eggplant for the meatier texture along with cayenne and paprika. It was really good!
Uhhhh.. yeah... will add the paprika!
Unintentional ASMR, or it's just me?
caught that too :D
ASMR
Yea, I experienced the same
It is because I react the opposite to ASMR I get angry and it bothers me have misphonia
Watching with earbuds...triggered.
Love how she's using her platform to promote what she believes and stands for. Not all artists will do that. She influence people in a different positive way.
LOTS of artists do that. But unlike most of them, Natalie does it with grace, and in this case in particular, a kick-ass recipe even we omnivores can love.
*Even better than TVT*
Love Natalie Portman, talented actor, intelligent person, and decent human being. Respect
It looks great but I don’t think it’ll taste great. Chuck in some coconut milk and reduce to make it creamy, a lil curry powder to add warmth and a lil brown sugar to take away some of the tartness from tomatoes. Then it’ll be a bomb stew
I actually really like it. I add some chill flakes and lime juice. It’s a good light base and extra ingredients are optional for everyone.
OH OKAAAYYYYYYYY~
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1 zucchini
1 can whole peeled tomatoes
1 can chickpeas
2 tsp salt
red chili flakes to taste
chopped parsley
I was inspired to do this today & loved it! Added an onion & lots of spices. Yum 😍
you forgot the zucchini
You forgot the zucchini.
You forgot the zucchini
Mine is simmering right now... will add some jarred salsa next time ;)
And still not tempted
Love this recipe! Nathalie Portman needs her own recipe book. I like how the recipe is realistic, super simple and you could easily make this your own. I’ve been inspired to eat more plant-based again so I will try it!
Most of that compost she made will not be digested.
Won’t be digested?

Summzy 101 it's a reference to the movie *V for Vendetta* starring Natalie Portman. OP is not brainstorming words that start with the letter V.

Hey Natalie, after sweating the garlic in the olive oil, add half the chili flakes and let them bloom. For more umph, get a tube of organic tomato paste and add maybe a tablespoon of it to the oil+garlic+chili mixture. Heat until some fond/caramelization starts happening. Then de-glaze the bottom of the pot with fresh water or just the juice of the canned tomatoes........ or if you happen to have a bottle of good wine that's already open, use some of it to de-glaze the pot, then pour in the other liquids. If you have some pre-made vegetable stock with some herbs, those would even be better. Here's an optional tip to thicken it: get an immersion blender (stainless steel, preferably........ so it won't melt in the pot). Blend some of the stew, in the same pot, particularly the chickpeas. Alternatively, you could also add some sliced okra.
@FREEDOM LIGHTRIDER I don't see how, this is pretty legitimate advice.
FREEDOM LIGHTRIDER Ikr, that’s just a simple dish for people who don’t have time for that gourmet shit.
oooo I like the idea of using okra! :) Good tips!
LOVE the use of tomato paste....this sounds like a Turkish dish....mmm
Did you ever make this for Anakin???
The Cooking Corner or Thor
Brett Jones haha thats right!!
KB "i don't like sand its coarse and it gets everywhere." Haha classic..
She made it for Leon. He taught her when she was young.
Lol I had a feeling someone would mention anakin' s famous sand line.
this is my staple vegan dish everytime I need to cook something I always go back to this recipe. I wish she did more cooking videos I love her !!!
Just saw you on Hot Ones. Made me do research, just watched Cowspiracy. Can't wait to see your movie
Jeff Ward check out the new documentary called The game changers
Is that why this psycho doesn't have meat in her meal? Im sure she's way healthy and has no deficiencys.
Forks over knifes, what the health, rotten, fat sick and nearly dead 1-2 - great documentaries as well :)
Watch Fathead. Also very interesting.
Damn we got 226 stickers over here!! Jk peeps
This is Natalies favourite home cooked dinner , not ours , we can make this and add whatever we want. Don’t have to keep bagging her
First World Problems Change that first g to an n and suddenly I'm not so opposed to doing that to her.

I've had a crush on this woman for so many years. Easily one of the sexiest women alive.
Even in a turtleneck it seems women aren't able to get away with being called sexy. Kind of a shame
She looks like a skinny 10 yr boy. Meh.
lol same here like 8 years ago .
why ?..what is wrong with sexy ? ,they want to be sexy ..the problem is how some males react to a sexy woman :)
I did to, until I just found out she’s Vegan...
Ever since she was in the Where the Heart is I always looked up to her. I was like 4 when it aired on STARZ. She had the same marks on her face as mine and the small eyes . Her mannerisms and humor seem so intellect. I know she is a celebrity and is probably very into her privacy but I hope one day she comes out with a book. I would like to hear her opinions on so many topics going on almost like a talk show. She's someone that girls/boys should look up to considering she's smart, cares about the planet and animals, motivated, talented, fights for women rights, chef. She's probably the only celeb I would ever want to meet. I'm going to try this recipe this week and hope it goes well. :) Go Nat!
( I recently finished watching The Other Woman and I always wondered what happened to Emilia after that walk with Jack. Did she rekindle with him? Would Emilia ever decide to have another baby? Would Emilia and Carolyne ever become friends? )
i am seriously LOVING all these videos Natalie has been doing lately
Natalie flexing with her low blood pressure...
We get it, Natalie, your body is stuck at age 19
Lucky bastard from Black Swan, danced his heart into Nat's life.
I wish I danced that well.

Hahaha
This looks so good! I personally like to go lighter in spices and all the ones she used are my favorites. Anybody complaining that it’s bland can add whatever spices they like to make it their own. Sometimes it’s great to just have an easy base recipe so you can play around with flavor.
This is literally my number 1 go to dish.. The most comfortable for me to cook.. I wish I could learn more recipes from her. She's one of my top 5 favorite actress of all time.
I make something similar but I actually put in the spices and chickpea first. Flavors the oil and adds to the sauce. Never used whole tomatoes though usually I dice them up first. This recipe is super great and it was one of the first things that made me realize I don't need to eat meet everyday.
Did she film this before or after demolishing those hot sauces with Sean?
Dan Gorry beat me to it
probably after, that's probably why her voice is like that!
Dan Gorry she is wearing the same black sweater and earrings, minus the apron.
She likely filmed them the same day. Hot Ones and Munchies are both here in NYC.
And buzzfeed (same outfit, earings, etc..°)
This turned out really good and super easy to make. I added cumin, coriander and chili flakes and tomato paste to thicken things up
I made this a few times and I love it :) I started with caramelized onions then added the garlic and rest of the ingredients. At the end I also added some cilantro :p Delicious easy to make and healthy
You're awesome! Thanks for using your celebrity to speak for animals, the environment, and for healthy choices. I am 45 and went vegan just 8 months ago. I wish I did it sooner.
I just tried this out and it tastes amazing. Definitely recommend it.
She's so stunning and her voice omg 😍
I was in her film 4 years ago in San Francisco with a startup called Hampton Creek Foods (now JUST) I was working with on re-inventing the egg with plant-based materials and couldn't be more happy to see it finally coming out!
This recipe looks delicious as it is or a starting point for those of us that want to add more veg & spices. Thank you!
don't forget to add some fresh "FR E SH AVOCA DO"
The right way is add onions first and garlic because garlic will burn too fast
Cool, thanks. The recipe does not call for any onion.
Which is exactly what she did since there is no onion.
You can add garlic and ginger first on low gas , and then add the onions when the garlic and ginger sizzle.
Eve Wee I, too, see imaginary onions that don’t exist.
I cooked this and I freaking loved it!!!! New favorite, thank you Natalia portman
Very easy to make and right to the point very good
I actually cooked this for my husband and I last night and it was amazing! My husband eats meat and he ate it all up.
Im somewhere between wanting her as my wife or as my mother
why not both if you know what i mean ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
the dilemma as old as life itself
ayyyyy lmao

Norman Bates? That you?
I just made this but I used a bit of vegetable broth bouillon and it was so good! My new favorite weeknight dinner.
I’m literally eating a bowl of this and it is sooo good!!! It didn’t turn out as pretty as Natalie’s but still good!!
I know she already had a role in Thor movie, but Natalie seems more suitable to be Captain Marvel!
I have low blood pressure too, and my doctor said the same thing to me about salt.
read the book soon after going vegan and it's a great learning resource. so glad it's now a doco. reaches more people :)
She is such a beautiful person and what a lovely spirit she has.
i like how she didn’t over cook the zucchini and i GET that this is her special recipe she cooks for her family BUT if you’d like to have a more FLAVORFUL dish, i’d suggest sautéing some diced onion and fennel with the garlic then adding some other spices like cumin, ground coriander black pepper, smoked paprika and ground up fennel seeds are all great options! Adding herbs is also a nice way to keep it flavorful, like cilantro tarragon, basil, oregano or even mint! Zucchini and butternut squash is such a beautiful combination and adding a hint of natural sweetness never hurt anyone! Corn might be nice as well! Some acid would really brighten it up so a squeeze of lime or vinegar would be divine! To keep it vegan, topping it with something crunchy like fried garlic, nutritional yeast, toasted nuts or chips wouldn’t be a bad idea! Food is about flavour and texture. Love her though. All of these extra steps don’t take a whole lot of extra prep to create something really special and tasty!
y tf would she cook when she already the snack

Awesome work!! Can't wait to see the documentary! I've been vegan for over 2 years and feel so much healthier and happier! There's so much help, online and on UA-cam if you want to learn more!! 'What the health' and 'Cowspiricy' are must sees!!
How does she keep up with her iron levels?
she’s so beautiful inside and out, i really respect Natalie
Omg this stew is sooooo good I just finish making it. Yummmmmm 😋. Thanks Natalie! ❤️
She's definitely not a cook (there's barely any flavor development in this dish), but I can imagine how these ingredients could be turned into a tasty dish.
Love her kindness towards life
She has been majestic since I watched her in the film Heat. Back then she was just an itty bit but very sweet.
So many spices and all she used was salt and pinch of red pepper lol
A agreed hahah
Some people don't like a whole bunch of spices in their food. Everyone has different tastes
less is more ;)
Eric Ryan I think they’re getting at the idea that it’s hard to get psyched about a chickpea & zucchini stew when you know there are some simple basic spices that, when used correctly obviously, could make this a much more interesting dish. There was no acid in the dish besides the tomato, which is not that noticeable, no real heat besides chili flake which was put in at the end so it doesn’t incorporate like if you’d let it bloom, no tang from a dash of something like sherry vinegar or the like, no sweetness from carrot or some gently cooked garlic (confit preferably)... that’s all
Lol
Being a caribbean latina I was sure this was going to be bad bland and boring.... I cooked it today and Im having my third bowl.... what?! This is one of those times were less is more periodt!!!!! Tryyyyyy it!!!
I just made this and omg! New fav! It’s really good!!!!!
I make the same stew but with ginger and lemon. Always heals me when I am feeling sick :)
Love Natalie Portman, and I thought we had nothing in common (I'm an omnivore), now I find out we're both salt junkies lol... but yeah, I will add this recipe to my repertoire. Again, I love meat, but love my veggies too, and I have a special love for chickpeas
Is this what they eat on Naboo?
This woman is so sweet. She's flawless ! Beautiful, kind.. Really clever. I love her !
I like that she said even if you make an effort like changing the way you eat for a week is good eat vegan or vegetarian for 2 weeks out of the month (every other week) i can still eat my nuggets and my tofu too 😭❤️
Hunger is the best spice. When you are always starving like Natalie, anything tastes great even chickpeas over white rice.

This would be good, just needs more herbs and spices.
She definitively did not underestimate the power of vegan food
I love this ! Thank you Natalie
Her voice is so calm and soothing, I absolutely love her
There is no humane way to kill a conscious being with the desire to live though
I could fall asleep just listening to Natalie talk.
Love her but this looks a little bit bland to me.. no pepper??
I’m vegan and I don’t think i could eat that.. needs spices, some flavour.
Alyssa All those tomatoes and just salt and chilli flakes
Bland and bit sourish I guess 😬
Add your own spices. Don’t have to follow her exact recipe....
My biggest problem with this recipe isn't the lack of spices, but the fact that she puts in garlic first, and then the zucchini - doesn't the garlic burn faster than the zucchini can cook?
That said, I make a slightly adapted version of this quite regularly and it's really delish
I actually cooked this recipe and it's really quite pleasant. I did add some Tonys Creole too it afterwards for more spice. 👍
No seasonings and those tomatoes are still whole and look practically raw.
best argument in the video for becoming vegan: how incredibly good natalie looks at almost 40 years old...
Vegan is not about look. It is about feeling sympathy to animals.

Natalie, where are Earth's amaaaazing spices??
Of course chickpeas can be used a gazillion different ways, but I LOOOOVE them in Indian Spiced Curry!!💝💝😩
I didn’t know she was a vegan, that makes me love her even more
love her
I made this meal, delicious ❤️🌱
I love how she seems to have this adorable little shyness about her.
My ASMR is exploding right now...
...might be saying that wrong, but you know what I mean...
First of all, wonderful video- love it- yes the recipe could use a few more spices. Also, if using oil to cook the zucchini, why not fry up those chickpeas as well? I try not to use oil in my cooking but if I were making this recipe, I would definitely get the chickpeas a little crispy. Having said all that, I may try this tomorrow!
I don't think making them "crispy" would add anything since they sit in liquid for a while, which would make them soft again.
truly inspired ❤️❤️❤️
Natalie Portman is 5'3 so that counter is probably 3 feet off the ground, or she's standing on stepstool for higher ground.
John Caputo and your point is:
-They shouldn’t gave her a step stool?
-Counter is too low?
...
Probably one of the most unimaginative and plain things one could cook.
My guess is that she hardly every cooks.
There is a huge amount of salt and no creativity with the use of herbs or spices.
That garlic needs sweating in the pan as do the courgettes(zucchini).
It's the sort of thing a student would cook.
The volume of salt in that would have probably made it rather disgusting.

@@victor-nw8ks ha ha, at least I didn't start bloody swearing did I? bloody hell no!
Who cares? Have you tried making it? I guess not because it actually tastes good and it’s so SO easy to make! What’s more, it’s super healthy. Who even have time to spend hours on so called gourmet meals?
P.s. U don’t have to use that much salt if u don’t want to🙃
Yep but she also repeatedly mentions a one-year-old child...
@@samuelcarpenter8322 she is going to feed all that salt to a one year old?

That is so amazing. I read that same book back in highschool and became a vegetarian after that. Been a vegetarian for a good 6-7 years. I want to become vegan one day and try very hard to stay away from animal products.
Come on over, life is great!
no
+Brick Only another 7 years before your health suffers as horribly as my sister's did, the doctor directs you to revert to a meat-inclusive diet and your health returns to normal! Something to look forward to mate! If only you lived in Australia, I could direct you to a family friend who is a qualified Nutritionist so she could make some money off you too. Gotta share all that cash you're saving on meat my dude! 90% of her clients are dedicated, hardcore Vegans, and their health is fuuuuuuucked as a result of their ideologically-driven diet.
If you want to take shitloads of supplement drugs, have massive medical issues ~15 years after you start and look like a walking skeleton, then Veganism is the diet for you. Just be sure to remember the rhetoric every time you go to the supermarket:
- Cheese from free-roaming cows is evil
- Unfertilised eggs from free-range chickens is evil
- Goat's milk from goats wandering on hills is evil
- Crushing rodents with crop harvesting machinery is ok, because rodents aren't animals and you're only eating the vegetables anyway
- Killing boars to protect crops is ok, because boars aren't animals and you aren't actually eating the boars
- Animals that die from deforestation resulting from crop plantation isn't your problem, because vegans need the vegetables more than the animals. If there aren't any vegans, who will save the animals that die in order for the vegans to get their vegetables?
TLDR; Veganism is the biggest load of bullshit in the food industry, second only to the grapefruit diet. The diet is founded on an illogical ideology, as thousands upon thousands of animals die in the process of farming crops, and the animals we farm are primarily fed the crop waste that humans cannot eat. Irrespective of whether you're a vegan or an omnivore, many animals die in order for you to eat, so why choose a diet with inferior nutritional content which relies on drugs/pills in order to fill in the nutritional blanks.
Anyway, don't take my word for it, go vegan and suffer in 10 years. I love to see hipsters suffer poor health.
Lol boring life
+pmodd Pretty much all of what you say is true. I'm just not quite sure about the crop plantation argument.
Haven't really read too much about farm animal feeding, but it looks like on average a single dairy cow eats about 80-100 lbs of hay a day. That's between 30 000 - 36 000 lbs of hay a year for a single cow and there's over a billion cows in dairy and meat farms all around. Chickens are around 20 billion and pigs - 2 billion. This leads me to presume crop plantation for meeting farm animals' eating habits is severe.
Omg, she is so nice, love her
I've been wanting to eat healthier, and this is a great recipe,I think I'll try it..I'm not sure about becoming vegan, but I have been a vegetarian for a few years now and it's made a difference in my overall health...I'm still not eating that well,I still eat some junk food(not like I used to though) but I am trying to make changes that are gradual...like for instance I stopped drinking dairy milk and lost 5 pounds just by doing that..and I'm going to start doing yoga, because I have rheumatoid arthritis and it would be good to get back to the flexibility I had years ago..I am what they call "hyper mobile",they used to call it "double jointed" and I was very flexible and I want to get back some of that flexibility, which would really help with my RA...and I love Natalie Portman, she's a great actor :)
"I like spicy" yeah well we've seen you on Hot Ones sweetheart
I love that she's always spreading the vegan message #govegan
I tried doing a vegetarian diet for a few months. Although I did lose a lot of weight (which was the intended goal), I also developed painful blisters in my mouth and on my tongue, possibly from lack of nutrition I would normally get from eating meat. So, needless to say, I went back to a regular diet with chicken and fish.
Where can I find the documentary about factory farming that she mentioned? It sounds sounds interesting and I agree with what she said the premise of the movie is.

Disappointed. this is how a college freshman eats. In no way is this cooking. The garlic, chili pepper flakes and salt should have been put in first to bloom it. Next the tomatoes and water. Then the zucchini and chickpeas.
