Great Loop Cruising Info: Leg 52-Big Chute Marine Railway to Midland, ON

The Perch rides the Big Chute Marine Railway on leg 52 of our Great Loop. Big Chute is lock 44 on the Trent-Severn. Its carriage rides along a railroad track and submerges into the water so boats can drive aboard. Then, the carriage runs along the track and carries the boats out of the water, across a road, and down a hill before dropping them back in the water on the other side! Leg 52 also included the Port Severn Lock which is the last lock station on the Trent-Severn. We arrive in Georgian Bay to continue our adventure!
