Nothing better than some workshops organisation. The side of the holders are great surfaces to to continue the organisation. It looks great.
I think a makers work space and how things are stored, utilized and set up is just as important if not more so than actual woodworking projects. I love the French Cleat walls. I enjoy watching your shop project builds as much as anything else you do in the shop. As hobbiests, D.I.Y woodworkers, without a commercial shops budget or income, we have to make most of the storage, benches, furniture and everything else needed in a shop to make woodworking fun and enjoyable and efficient. Those items are super important and I really like that you show us the various things you do to that end in your shop. It's fun to watch you make a doe bowl and the end result is fantastic, but watching you design and build a simple yet effective French Cleat wall to organize your tools is practical and great to watch and get some ideas from. I am looking forward to seeing the new machines and tools you have coming up in the next year. Like guitar playing, a new instrument inspires creativity. New or upgraded tools inspires creativity which helps to keep the passion and enjoyment alive.
Glad you enjoyed it Colin more to come
That's a nice-looking charging station, and I have the perfect place for one
Another worthwhile project John. I trust that your workshop is fully secured. Video production must be terribly time consuming but it’s great to have you back.
Full secured Brian cameras everywhere
Hi John, Brilliant idea, just what the workshop needs, plenty of options with a French cleat system put what you want where you want. As always a great video, catch you soon take care
Thanks Shaun. Slainte!
Birch plywood is super expensive where I am, you still able to get it reasonably cheap in Ireland. Great little project fella
Good stuff John, great update
Thanks 👍
A beautiful project 🥃👍
I've been building my drill and charging station for about 2 years 😂 I'm constantly coming up with new ideas and usually have to start from scratch 😁
It never stops evolving, always changes to be made. Sometimes done is better than perfect.
Nice job 👏
Cheers!
Nice one John my shed is only 18ftx10 but the two sides and back walls have French cleats it's the way too go 👍👍👍
They are a great option
Nice vid. Let’s be honest, most builds we do are workshop improvements, just don’t tell the wife that!
Any recommendations on ideal or maximum size for a French cleat wall?
You can make it as big as the load carrying capacity of the wall. everybody will have different requirements so make it as big as you need.
Wish i had a £1 for everytime you said cleat 😂
Can't have to many cleats
