Awesome. Back when GiJoe figures came out and the jets and helicopters were appearing, us kids used a couple of 2X12x16 planks and my dad cut it into the shape of a carrier deck and we painted it primer gray and striped it. We made a tower with portholes and walkways around it. It was in my backyard forever. We had so much fun with it.
Thank you! I just filmed an EPIC battle scene with Classified figures. I'll edit it and get it up later this week. I also did one with ARAH figures I'll get up next week 😁
I've watched all three videos. Extremely well done! I hope people truly appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that you have to make this possible. If you want to print and sell one at my booth at JoeFest next year, let me know!
I will definitely think on that Chris! There have been some people asking about raising the Flagg and I always refer them to you. The process should be almost identical just bigger. Thank you!
Thanks so much! 3 months of poiring over reference pictures and modeling every little detail. Glad you enjoyed it! I hope it brought back some good memories!
@@Isles2219 That's right! I spent countless hours pouring over reference pictures. My goodness, I can't even begin to tell you how many hours I spent capturing every little detail. Thank you so much!
Thank you very kindly! There's a whole lot of love and work in this project that's for sure. I have a video coming out this week with an epic battle of classified figures. I even have one next week coming out with original GI Joe's having a battle!
I really appreciate it! You always have kind words! This is the week for the epic battle of the classified figures video and next week is the original GI Joe figures battle!
The amount of detail in this is insane. My buddy had the original back in 87 this just magical. How did you get everything to look this clean? It doesn’t look 3d printed it looks factory made. Did you print the labels also? My god man this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.
@@JameyMcFarland One of the biggest ways was I modeled it for the process I used, FDM printing. I've been an engineer for a long time and have used 3D printers for ages lol. The "stickers" were all 3d printed, even the deck stickers are 3D printed in 😁. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully it brought back a good part of your childhood!
You covered all the details. Hope you don’t mind if I mention you in the future in my videos and your US Flagg. It is in Spanish but thanks to technology, Subtitles exist!! 👍 Great video!
I think my friend @it'sChad would love this, if he saw your videos. He a big Gi Joe fan of the 3.75 gi Joe figures and 4 inch modern scale. Great video
Looks great. Should throw some Joes in there to really make it come alive. It will look really cool with the Dragonfly siting on its deck. Hopefully they make some more GI Joe aircraft, like the Skystriker or Conquest.
Thanks so much! I have a video coming out later this week with classified figures having one epic battle! Bonus points... I also have an epic battle scene with original GI Joe's coming out next week 😁
Thank you so so much! I will be selling the STLs very soon. I have so many projects backed up right now that I honestly don't think I could print another one. The good news is there will be some more really cool toys coming out soon!
These first three were about showcasing the Classified Flagg. But good news is there was video already shot of an epic battle with Classified figures. It will be posted later this week. Next week will be another epic battle but with ARAH figures 😁
Been sharing these videos with my classmates for about a week, amazing amazing work. How did you first approach such a large project? Did you scan parts or modeled them from scratch?
Thank you for sharing and appreciating all of the hard work! 🙏 I do a ton of research before I begin. I always become an expert in the project I take on. Next I begin with the base laywr that everything will build around and in this case it was the flight deck. Everything was modeled from scratch. I only started with a few measurements. I knew that the original one was 7.5ft long, 3ft wide, and 3ft tall. All of it was done by eye in Solidworks. I don't own a scanner, one day I might but I haven't found anything that I absolutely have to have one for. Thanks again! I have many more projects coming up 😁.
Thank you very much! It really wasn't that bad. I don't have the final figures yet because I was so focused on finishing it. I'll get a video up in the next little while and talk more about it.
That looks awesome. What do you think is you merged these 3 playset in cad to make ultimate Cobra Fortess. - Kenner Death Star playsets - Terror Drome -Cobra Mountain
I was so focused on trying to get this beast done that I haven't had time to go back and tally everything up. I'm going to do it soon and make a video and show a lot of the processes and thought patterns that I have. I use Solidworks and have for many years. Thank you and I really appreciate it!
It would be hard to do that with an original but there is a gentleman named Chris Dortsch ( I hope I spelled his name right). He has a book on Amazon called Raising the Flagg. A lot of people have done this and it does not require any modifications to your original toy. It's a really cool idea to do that! He is also on some of the Facebook groups.
I'm guessing it doesn't scale well. Why else would he make 4 videos on the thing and not show it with a single classified figure in any of them. I thought for sure in the "Does it work" video we would have seen it but alas, sadly no. Come on man, show it with some figures on it. I mean why would you make a classified scale Flagg if you don't have any classified figures?
Well I have a great answer for that. These videos were meant to be all about the work I have done on the Flagg and showcasing it. But the great news is I've already filmed an epic battle with classified figures and I will get it edited and posted this week! It will be a really cool video 😁!
It scaled for the 6-in figures. These three videos were really meant to showcase this Flagg. I scaled it based on going from a 3.75 in figure to a 6-in figure.
