    What does the orifice size have to do with these Turbo nozzles? I'm looking for the most powerful Turbo nozzle to use on cleaning a aluminum 60 ft hull from barnacles and grime dirt etc

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  2 роки тому

      Depending on the pressure and flow rate of your machine would dictate what orifice size you need.
      If you fit too big you will get max flow rate but sacrifice pressure, too small can cause excess pressure buildup and reduced flow. You have to match it to the machine spec. I have heard though that you need some pretty serious pressure for removing barnacles from boat hulls. Ultimately its your machine that will govern how powerful the nozzle is.

    Great review, thanks for the info. Any idea what could cause my simpson turbo nozzle to stop spinning? Its very odd, work everytime I power up for approx 5 seconds then stops with a random focused jet in one area. Each time I squeeze trigger after it will stay in same place and maybe move randomly but does not spin as it should. Took apart and all is clean. Less than 2 hours use. When I want to restart it, I have to remove tip, depress the wand and reinstall. Again it will last only 5 seconds or so. Thoughts?? Thanks.

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  6 років тому +1

      Stephen Ricketts hey Stephen, can't say I've ever heard of Simpson nozzles. If it works in a similar way to the black suttner then the most common problem is the rotating nozzle jet getting stuck due to grit ingress. Problem comes by not using filters on the Lance and the smallest bit of grit gets in the chamber and scratches up all the inside and roughs up the plastic/composite nozzle making them lock up. If your lucky you may be able to strip it and smooth it with some metal polish or fine sandpaper but I had to replace my complete nozzle. Like you I had about an hour's use on it before it locked. These turbos are highly susceptible to grit, you can get quite a bit from the water source hose/tank. Phill

    • @stephenrickettsNL
      @stephenrickettsNL 6 років тому

      My entire nozzle is either brass or ceramic. No plastic, seems odd that it works for 5 seconds or so before the rotating action stops.... Thanks for the reply. Both the brass and ceramic are smooth as a baby's bottom and no groves.

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  6 років тому

      Stephen Ricketts only other possibility is a faulty nozzle. I would always run filters on turbos just to be safe. You can always see the scratches that are made, my composite bit had the edges scuffed up and unless you really studied it you wouldn't see it.

      Hi, either the PA or suttner would work. I personally find the PA a more reliable nozzle. So long as you run an inline filter they should both work well. I've tried the suttners but I never had great luck with the reliability. I've had a PA for 10years and it still works like new. Just make sure you buy the correct sized jet for your machine. Ayaz Ahmad The rotating plastic nozzle inside will wear out. even quicker if grit or sand can enter the chamber. You can kill a suttner turbo nozzle in a couple of hours use if the water is not filtered. For parts or replacement best bet is eBay.

      I mean technically yes. The flow rate on the karcher k7 is around 9-10 litres a min. The charts don't list what size you would need but I would say something around a size 035 may work OK. You would be better suited to trying one of the cheaper brands available on ebay. Both these versions are over £40 each now. Gone are the days when they used to be available for £27.

    • @DirtyDriveAway
      @DirtyDriveAway  7 років тому +2

      slim439 no chance, my water is filtered before it gets to the tank. unless you run stainless lances like I do now it can pick up small bits of rust from inside the lance and connections. I prefer to be safe, I've had these nozzles go wrong in the middle of a job without filters and it's a nightmare. running no filter is ok on large nozzle sizes but I have a twin nozzle lance that runs 2x 035 turbo nozzles and they block too easily if not filtered.
