- The title of the talk is “Voluntarism in Islam and Reconstructionist Judaism (and the Father of Lies)”. Theological voluntarism is the belief that God’s will is absolute, and hence God is not constrained to be moral, rational, consistent, or honest. Islam as well as some streams of Reconstructionist Judaism reflect this belief.

God is All Loving, Giving and Omnipotent...We need to follow the First Commandment in order to follow the rest..Thanks Roy for your videos.
Nice & short. Learned something new today. Thanks, Roy. MGB your apostolate mightily. 🙏
Great talk. What comes to mind is a famous bishop's words regarding the "privileged way", which to me is religious indifference, i.e. your way, his way, her way, etc is all good. Isn't that a heresy?
I lost all my friends too due to conversion. They didnt understand i became a different person and were trying to lead me to sin. I pray for them. It is what it is...people grow apart. But i understand its sad
It happens to many of us. The important thing is that we are learning and following the truth.
I DO enjoy your talks.
If will is the fundamental force in the universe, that explains Islamic pessimism. For some reason, like with Schopenhauer and some Stoics, voluntarist opinions make their believers very glum.
His understanding of the various revealations that the same God would give to the different people is really good however they all contradict each other so I think it would mean that none of them can be true or indeed trustworthy because he has obviously changed his mind upon each belief he gave each person ha wow and the world thinks we as believers in Christ Are crazy my gosh
Yes it is crazy!
I love this talk. I learned so much.
Thanks!!!
I hope there is a follow up talk.
Deep structure/Surface appearance sounds Chomskyan linguistics
Thank you Roy
