    It must have been a happy, happy morning waking up to churros con chocolate . Well, for me it would be. Hahaha! 😊
    Gotta love the crusty crunchy bread from that torta, and the protein packed filling of pulled pork and chicken cutlet, pickled onions, sour cream... 😊
    Pork doner is something new for me, and so are vegetarian tacos. But all of them seem so tasty, and reflects how cuisines adapt to local preferences.
    And of course, what a cheesy ending with those shrooms and grilled cheese. 😅

    the churro and all sweet bread, must be dipped in the chocolate, put in the mouth and... then a religious experience begins...
    "I can see why chocolate is so popular here in Mexico"
    that's because... chocolate was born in Mexico, it is a gift from Mexico to the world, and when you say "that's just taste like pure" it is because you are consuming Mexican chocolate, the purest chocolate that exists (without taking into account The preparation has the cocoa seed, which is where it is obtained from... that would undoubtedly be the purest thing that can exist)
    "chocolate" comes from the Nahuatl word (language of the "Aztecs") "xocoatl": xoco (bitter) and atl (water) (that is, "xocoatl") because the original, the purely pure cocoa preparation, is bitter, With the arrival of the Spanish, other ingredients were added... then the Spanish took it to Europe... and... from there to the rest of the world
    I don't know if you know that Mexican cuisine was the first to be named "world heritage" by UNESCO above cuisines such as French, Mediterranean, Chinese, Italian and Japanese...
    One of the reasons is because it is an ancestral cuisine whose recipes are passed down from generation to generation, also because it is a "mother cuisine" that is, it uses endemic ingredients from the country and another reason is because of the family and friendship ties that are fostered through from cooking...
    And many of the dishes that are consumed today in Mexico have Spanish, Arab and French influences... but, what is consumed in the majority, are variants of recipes that were already prepared before the arrival of the invaders. .. everything prepared with corn and green and red sauces... are recipes from that mother cuisine of the pre-conquest era

    • @HungryTwoTravel
      @HungryTwoTravel  10 місяців тому +2

      You are right, it is a religious experience 😅 The sweet breads are delicious, and yes chocolate originated here in Mexico, such a gift to the world, that's for sure.
      We're aware of the UNESCO designation of Mexican cuisine/gastronomy, it truly is a unique gastronomy that has thousands of years of heritage. Just exploring the country we've learned so much about the cuisine and the true history of it. It's been really wonderful so far, and we can't wait to keep exploring! Thanks again for watching and commenting, 'Walking Puebla' 😊
