Any Brookside super fans reading this, I want your opinion on a weird Mandela Effect regarding the character Sinbad. Does anybody remember his supposed real name being Thomas Hardy Edward Sweeney? Because I watched Brookie avidly, and I swear the sign above his shop always read that. Featured in every episode, during the opening titles, in the later part of the 90's. Well, turns out his middle name was actually Henry. I'm just really interested to know if anyone else remembers Hardy, not Henry. Because it really weirded me out, when I watched old clips and saw that I'd, apparently, always read his name wrong. I so vividly remember it being Hardy. Very strange.
Geek query to all Brookie Mad 'eads! This intro , though obviously in stereo surround when compared to the mono output of the original theme , seems to have a more muted bass and percussion compared to its debut episodes played over the original intro images , in 1991. Any thoughts?
@@007beck9eastenders back in 2004 to 2006 was good with gang stories, Dennis Rickman, Johnny Allen, Jake n Danny moon, dirty den, Andy Hunter and so many good story plots
I’m from NYC but I would see “Brookside” during trips to the UK. I always loved the opening when they showed the Liver Building, the Mersey Ferry, the Albert Dock, St. George’s Hall, and the two cathedrals. I’ve been to Liverpool many times; have always enjoyed it.
My dad lived in Liverpool around this time, I was 8 and living in Glasgow with my mum (who I didn’t really get on with) and every time I heard this theme I’d think of him and it made me sad
The bizzies haha. As a child I struggled to understand what they were saying. Even as an adult I do haha. It’s the Livvvvvveeerrrrpppoooolll accent haha lol. 👌👌🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😂😂
This was when EVERYONE watched it and it reached a peak
Liverpool tourist board must've made this!
Chris Richards lol!

Bro you need to get laid asap 😂😂😂😂😂
To me, the theme tune has always sounded like a slowed down version of Jean-Michel Jarre' s Equinoxe.
I wish this was on DVD!
It's available on stv app from Google play. All episodes free.
Me too, they released a huge crossroads set id love a brookside set.
The only storyline I can remember off the top of me head is when that mad blonde woman was stalking Jimmy...
wasn’t that Jenny who was stalking Mick?
@@scottyunitedboy2925 You are right my memory was playing tricks...
@@johno4521 lol no worries, to be fair I had been recently watching that storyline on here

this would be the perfect nice quality upload if it didn't have that weird skip near the beginning and a chopped off end smh
It was full of scousers love scousers
Probably the best british soap intro ever
Duff , duff , da duuf. Fooking amazing dat kid.
@martha sheilds Eastenders doesn't even come close
Agree, Brookside theme smashes EastEnders out of the water. That synth and drum pattern - just incredible.

Take's me back Jimmy Corkhill, Sinbad, Rom Dicko, Mick Johno,
My dad lived in Liverpool around this time, I was 8 and living in Glasgow with my mum (who I didn’t really get on with) and every time I heard this theme I’d think of him and it made me sad
When I was a kid I used to think this was called "Shhhhhhhh! Brookside is on!"
I loved this sitcom
It was class good old days
I just realised it sounds very much like ‘I Hear You Now’ by Jon & Vangelis from a year or two earlier
I remember when the Jordash family (?) buried that dude under the patio lol
those brookie houses must have been so cheap to buy back in the day, bet they are worh a small fortune now
Epic intro - and RIP Dean Sullivan aka Jimmy
Sssssshhhush you can’t talk Brookside’s on. That’s what my mum would always say. We got clipped round the head if we talked haha. 👌👌👍👍😂😂

This opening credit was made on the year I was born but yet I remember this theme so well wow
