1:26 this shot. Years ago, I was talking to family about this band that I'd been listening to for the better part of my adolescence. Long conversations- about how 'naked' and 'earnest' in their grief they'd tried to express throughout the album. Showed them this exact recording of Two, though then it felt like sharing a secret, like pointing at something similar to an axis in your life and hoping to be understood plein air. They did, to what degree I couldn't tell then but they did and I still remember huddling together, too many heads watching through a hand-me-down phone. Silberman, tucked in a corner of some cafe I'll never go to. Turned it into a small painting that i framed and now sits lovingly at my desk to this day. A better reminder of the light that seeps through black everything.

I feel a curtain being drawn over my past 19 years of life is a punishment from God, but it's really a gift because I have the ability to now look back at The Antlers, sink into a deep nostalgia and ball my eyes out, from the deep sadness of wishing I was young once again. World, thank you for letting me look back and feel the same wonder and innocence I felt as a child. Thank you L.B. for shooting performances like this that remind me of how there is still light in the world.
