Yes, indeed. Radio technology has advanced tremendously without breaking the bank. It’s amazing how much we get for our money these days. I’m so glad that radio prices haven’t paced inflation. We chose an economical interest. That’s what I tell my wife. If I want a new radio, I take her to Bass Pro Shops and show her the $80,000 bass boats.
Yes, indeed. Bobby is doing great work. They need more help though. My brother started this year but they need more. K5WAN had to stop after 4 hours during Hurricane Debby and there was no one to relieve him.
Thank You for the new video. I have experienced a lot of malicious activity lately trying to do POTA activation anywhere from tuning and transmitting a tv show. Thanks to your videos I finally did my first successful SOTA/POTA activation July 28 from Cadillac Mtn in Acadia NP. 73
Congratulations! I’m glad my videos helped you. I thank my Patreon support team for helping keep my channel going. And of course you have been a big part of that team.
Doug, great video as always. BTW, received about 4 inches of rain, so far today, from post tropical cyclone “Debby” and it's still raining in Northeastern PA. Thanks for your excellent video content and commentary. 73, Dave, AC3HT
Always helpful and informative. You might consider acknowledging some of your S7 and S9 monthly Patreon supporters who have been around for years but who can't justify an annual lump sum to their wives who pay the bills. 🙂
I have recognized some S7 members who supported the channel for over 2 years. I didn’t have in my notes for your membership that you had ever given me permission to publish your name and callsign publicly. And, as an S9, you would be recognized after one year. Please confirm via Patreon messenger.
I have a friend not far away that has and uses a Super Scanner on CB. I've tried several times but he won't come off it so I can use it for 10. Thanks for the video Doug, just about everything I know about my FTDX5000 I've learned from this channel. 73 KA2G
I’m glad to have helped. The 5000 is still my favorite. Maybe we can write to DX Engineering and convince them to make a 10m Super Scanner clone. I would buy one.
I remember the super scanner and the starduster the pdl2 and the moonraker beam yes I started out with CB in my mobile I never had a base station until I became a amateur radio operator
I had a Starduster. It looked cool, but the Astroplane was a better performer. I would have liked to have a Super Scanner. I would especially like one now, for 10m.
I love the explanations on the fly as you apply the different filters. I’m new to amateur radio and my radio, how much of this can be done with the FT-Dx10?
Hi John! I haven’t tried to chase N5J. I know there were some reported issues with WSJT-X related to SuperFox mode. Version 2.7.0-rc6 was supposed to address the issues. Are you having difficulties?
@@n4hnhradio Yes, I'm really struggling my friend. I've been trying without luck for the last 3 days to add N5J to my log. When I am in Super Fox I can see all of the hounds but I can never see the fox, which is super annoying because I can see other operators in southern England reporting his signal on PSK reporter but I never hear him. It seems that you must receive him with a signal strength of minus 15 or above otherwise he doesn't display and isn't decoded. There are also some reported issues with superfox failing to display the fox to users. It is super annoying to be a guinea pig for this release candidate software.
Thanks for the info about tuning. As a new HAM, that was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Doug. Another very helpful operating video. Thank you for monitoring HWN! And yes...I do remember the Super Scanner antenna very well. 73 to all!
I wish I had a Superscanner, Wendell. I would put it where by R5 is.
Great video Doug! Love the tools amateurs have to handle interference, etc.

I was a member of the HWN for a number of years. They do the lords work and Bobby Graves is doing a great job maintaining the organization.

Hi Andrew! I realize who you are now. Thank you for helping the channel continue. 73, Doug
@@n4hnhradio no worries 👍🏻
@@n4hnhradio I saw my name recognized in the video. Thanks de N1YLO
Your name is in more than one.

Try to stay dry, Dave. Thank you for helping keep the channel alive. The economy has hit the channel in a negative way.

You can do all of that except the variable preselector. Most of my video content is geared toward actual operating.
This channel has a number of FTDX10 videos. Enough, in fact, for me to choose FTDX10 for my HF radio, and become a patreon member.
Have you had any luck adding N5J to the log using FT8 Super Fox, Doug?

I can understand being a guinea pig. Have you reached out to the developer? There might still be some bugs.

Nice rig also, its been a while since ive seen one of those.
@kd5dcj1 Still the greatest all-around transceiver.
