  • Welcome to our Intro Free Motion Quilting series! We are so excited about this course so we can help give you the confidence to finish your quilts yourself on your home sewing machine or longarm.
Congratulations! You've made it to the end of the Intro to Free Motion Quilting course. Now it is time to gather all 16 of the blocks we have quilted and assemble them using the quilt-as-you-go method.
If you've never used the QAYG method before, it is a little bit strange when you get started, but the results look great and it's a great way to be able to create a large quilt when you are limited on sewing machine throat space.
If you haven't watched our intro videos on the supplies you'll need and how to use your stencils and Pounce Pad, make sure you watch those first on our class page: www.quiltaddic...
We have created four reorderable quilt kits using solid fabrics from Northcott Colorworks. The richly colored fabrics are fabulous to work with, and it will make it very easy to see your stitches and make your stitching the star or the show.
Make sure you grab a stencil kit, which contains the four stencils and pounce pad we are using to learn the four basic stitches. And grab the quilt pattern, which is FREE with the purchase of any Free Motion Quilting Kit.

I agree with you. Never put water into your iron. It will ruin it. How do I know. A good iron is an expensive investment. Purchase a spray bottle and save yourself a future headache.

what is the button hole stitch you found that you like to use for this process?

Each machine is different, but I found one that has a very small stitch over into the sashing that is about a centimeter apart. It is very understated. Play around with some scraps to see which option your machine has looks best.
