Probably this will be fine. The frame didn't state any brand name from any reputable company compared to the factor 02 oem. It's just a chinarello catma, unique on its own.
Nice owner, review and so refreshing. Not your typically covid cyclist buying expensive gear hiding real speeds within group rides. This guy puts others to shame!
An interesting interview and bike (one of the kind). Running on 11-25 rear cassette the owner is definitely a strong rider ( especially achieving a 8000m elevation on these). What attracts me is the owner's humble, practical and unassuming character. Great interview. 👍
To remove the old wax, which most likely contain dirt, follow oz cycle's method. Boil water and pour the hot boiling water over it, let the wax melt from the chain. Dry. I let it dry for one day. Then you cook it with the molten wax.
There may be voids in his Catma that goes unnoticed. He's just too light to experience any problem, which is a good thing for him. If you are a heavy rider, then the frame will naturally experience higher stress and higher risk of failure especially for OEM frames. Theres always a risk buying OEM frames, but some western "branded" frames aren't even that good quality either.
For frameset, I already don’t have much faith in any “Branded”. Firstly they shift their factory into China in order to get more profit but “they” said China frame have no quality. Secondly “Branded” frameset also have quality issues, if I not wrong last year the S brand recall their fork and the C brand recall their handlebar. There are always risk in buying carbon frameset, not like you buy a Sgd 20k bike it will guarantee risk free neither if you buy a sgd1.5k Chinese frame it definitely will have problem. So only times will tell whether which is the correct choice.
@@jktydj356 Yup. I believe the quality of such carbon bikes are higher since more attention is paid to their manufacturing processes. That's why some riders choose bespoke brands, be it carbon, aluminium or steel. But of course, it comes at a much higher price.
Got a 30 dollar endoscope off Amazon, stucked it in, no void, just rough finish. For open mold frame, you just need to know whom to deal with. It’s never a 1 to 1 replacement, but the price is good enough to settle the difference, just don’t buy 1 to 1 fake frame.
I had a pinarello F10 and I drove 61 thousand kilometers on it without any damage how many times I fell on it and nothing, I had an Ultegra 6800 mechanic on rim brakes, she's still with me, I've been buying for 10 years in 12 and I was riding all the time on a cassette 11-23 bought a few pieces used only 1) the rest are as new so far now their price is 3 or 4 times higher than I took them. as for the frame, I took the yellow color simply because the color is unique so far, the only thing I didn't like was that my fork became weak when braking, the deviation back became quite strong. I assembled the wheels myself with Aliexpress, they traveled about 30 thousand kilometers and I sold them along with the frame last year. and now, because of the current situation in Russia, I can't order anything, I just don't have enough funds because of the dollar exchange rate, so we also turned off the cards, I can't even buy Chinese frames
its always the fastest guys on the budget bikes , and the slowest ,heaviest guys on the bling bikes. The one thing I want to know is how well the rim brake carbon wheels hold up in the long term. thats my only concern as a rim brake owner...
It all depends on your braking wear & tear. The higher it is (usually for those who climb and descend a lot), the faster they'll wear out. I, for one, don't brake a lot since I don't do much climbing and descending, so I think I'll be OK.
This humble owner proves you don't need to follow the trend, you don't need to buy the most hyped up brand, just go for a china brand equivalent will do. Hats off to Young Lau and the host for finding a great guest!
No worries. I believe a lot of us here (me included) are not your so-call serious cyclist and quite a number of us in SG (due to other commitments especially relaxing of safety restrictions) may not even have your weekly mileage ! Thanks for the interesting interview.
@@50percent-Left No worries too bro and apologise for the confusion. A way of saying thanks to the owner and wish him well cos he had given me an enjoyable interview. 😄

Bought a oem pinarello bike from carousell. The person who sold it was great. Bought 2 frames from him and they work extremely great. Quality really has no issues at all. Really worth the price. Got mine for 1650 and had it custom painted. The sellers name was rezzy if anyone is interested. Really reccommend buying from him. If you see this rezzy hope you will give me a discount on my 3rd frame ya?
Lol, you sound like a paid Ads 🤣 must well ask the CATMA owner where to get a china Pinarello frame. At least his frame from his frame supplier is tested and proven.
Only giving my own humble opinion😅 if you want to dispute then sure. But i am happy with the frames that i have now. Dont really understand the need for you to judge my decision
FYI, Pinarello's frames are made in Taiwan (Dogma as well), not China! Also Specialized, BMC, Cannondale, Bianchi , Canyon, Felt, BH, Colnago (Entry Level Only), Scott, Kona. Just look at the bottom of your bottom bracket, it is always there "Made in Taiwan"! Yeah! And Taiwan is not China, please don't be confused! Yes, I am a Taiwan Cyclist! And Taiwan is the largest bike carbon frame manufacture country in the world, Trek is the largest bike company in the world, but frames all made in China!
I thought the more popular road Treks (Émonda SL, Madone SL, Domane SL, etc.) are made in Taiwan, no? But I did see one 2021 Émonda SLR frameset (standard paint job, not Project One) labeled as Made In China.
@@cesarporceldelgado4970 For safety's sake, don't. You'll be better off with an aluminium bike from a decent brand like Polygon. Even their carbon offerings are pretty good too.

If this video gets removed from UA-cam (one of my OEM Factor O2 interview was removed), the audio-only interview is on Spotify.
wow, why did it get removed???
Ah that's why I couldn't find it again last time
Would be a shame if that happens... Bikes like these are cool and full of character; I don't give a Pinarello a second look in contrast
