Alex Fergusson for his ability to build teams time and time again and for his longevity makes him the greatest manager in my book.
The greatest man-manager of-all time. I remember his lecture series at Harvard Business School where he shed some light on his management, the overarching principle was trust the people around you and they’ll trust you. EXCELLENT man-management.
he never build a completly new winning team giggs and scholes were there for all his winning years
In his 20 sum years he only managed to win 2 champions leagues
@@zirbto5749 bruh they were in the academy and team which he moulded to play his way dumbass🤣🤣
@@jasonalvarez6441 Only 3 ppl have ever won more CL than he did
Nice to see Wenger get the respect he deserves, despite some others trying to minimalize his impact and achievements.
Its subjective but I think the list is fair.
He masterminded 'The Invincibles', no other manager has managed that feat in Premier League history.
@@gentleken7864 probably 5th best premier league season ever. nowhere near first

Brilliant prank in first place Alfie, really thought you were picking Ferguson over Tim Sherwood for a second! Finally giving Big Tim the respect he truly deserves!
I'm a Liverpool fan of 20+ years who hates what Sir Alex did for United, but goddamn he was undoubtedly the greatest manager in PL history, maybe even in the history of European football.
Prediction:
1. Frank De Boer
2. Bob Bradley
Forgot Steve Kean
Ryan Mason
Freddie ljunberg
Ben Mee
Joe Kinnear
It's good to see Wenger get the respect he deserves from one of the few football youtubers who can conceptualize the impact a manager has on a sport beyond the last 12 months of their tenure
even without titles, Arsenal was almost always in the title chase with a fairly mediocre team (until Ozil and Alexis signed). And with these two, they started doing pretty good again for a while until Alexis left.
TBH there wasn't a single 'bad' season under AW. some of those bad seasons were bad when compared to his own achievements that's all (victim of his own success)
@@Nvd1987 yeah any other manager in wengers position would have been in the mid table at best.
Just look at united, players worlds better than Wenger had at arsenal for his last few years and they are a shambles.
More CL winners medals in that club than almost any other at the moment and they are struggling to see Europe. Wenger truly was a once in a lifetime coach
@@tylerlewis2766 yeah man i totally love the guy. he's a special human being (same as Klopp or Guardiola today) there's a reason even FIFA listens to him.
i think Kevin Keegan deserves a shout, got Newcastle promoted to the prem and then finished second back to back in 95 and 96
That comment about Mexico going out in the Last 16 was brilliant and I'm still hurting from it.
My personal top 7...
1) Steve Kean

Ranieri was actually very good at Chelsea, not merely decent. While Mourinho was great and right away, what he did was continue trajectory of the club under Ranieri. He, as much as Mourinho, guided Chelsea from the Dennis Wise "win with grit" era into the Lampard/Terry "win with quality AND grit" era. Fun fact: it was, fittingly, a Chelsea result that sealed the deal for Leicester. That made me feel good at the time, and in hindsight.
Great to see the Steve Kean reference at the start, especially considering hes been round to my house on a few occasions!

Alfie, thanks for consistently mentioning how LFC don’t quite get enough credit for what they’ve been able to do RE: pushing City. I wholeheartedly agree. It’s been nothing short of remarkable. Whenever I hear you say it I’m like “See? Billy Idol gets it!”

not a united fan but mad respect for SAF, I mean he won the PL with Phil jones, chris smalling , welbeck, cleverly just insane.
Stop acting as if they were starters.
@@donandres10
Carrick was the only midfielder that played more games than Cleverly that season.
Meanwhile Welbeck, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling all started more than 10 games.
We are talking about more appearances than Ake, Laporte, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernando Silva last year for City. Now Imagine replacing those 4 players with Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Cleverly and Welbeck.
Phil Jones the best ever man U player?

Klopp has to be here
I'd have to say Klopp. LFC had only won 18 titles and 5 champions league before he arrived. For him to come in and win the league after only spending 9 billion reminds me of when Maradona took Napoli from relegation candidates to champions.
I’ll never forget Roy hodgsons Blackburn side of 1997
This is a really solid list icl
I genuinely burst out laughing at Tim Sherwood
Amazing vídeo as always, HITC Sevens is the greatest football channel of all time. Day 5 asking for a video about Democracia Corinthiana.
i often write my own ranked '7' before pressing play, just to compare to Alfie (its alwaysss similar)
Klopp that low is a bit harsh. I would think he is the same or you could make an argument he's better than Pep. Klopp has made Liverpool into a superpower, a little bit behind City with a budget that as same as Spurs.
Also, i don't think Ranieri should be 7 though. He would be a honorable mention, but 81 points league finish (while very impressive), was gotten when all the contenders are down.
He has got just 1 epl title

alfie a tip from my end - please add chapters to your video
personally I'm finding hitc sevens video a tad monotonous and adding chapters would be helpful as sometimes i want to watch specific sections of a list
It has to be between Wenger and Sir Alex. Although I’m an Arsenal supporter I would give it to Sur Alex because of the immediate plunge from grace MU suffered when he left and they still have not recovered.
Fergie
Wenger
Jose
Klopp
Pep
Redknap
Moyes
From an arsenal fan
Ferguson
Wenger
Mourinho
Klopp
Pep
Moyes
Ranieri
Harry Redknapp for sheer longevity in the premier league should be in top 7 instead of Moyes or Ranieri , his West Ham, Portsmouth and Spurs sides were great entertainers .
Tim Sherwood, One of the Greatest (and by Greatest I mean worse) managers to ever manage in the league, and also the greatest (and again by greatest I mean worse) pundits we've had the pleasure (by pleasure I mean displeasure) of watching.
You should make a "Seven greatest "seven greatest list on hitc sevens""
1. Graham Potter
2. Marcelo Bielsa
3. Roberto Martinez
4. Scott Parker
5. Eddie Howe

1. Fergie
2. Wenger
3. Mourinho
4. Pep
5. Klopp
6th. Benitez
7th. Pochetinno
Maybe moyes for poch
Quite an interesting question, do people think it’s even hypothetically possible for Pep Guardiola to top this list? Say he stayed at City another 15 seasons and won more than 10 of them eclipsing Ferguson’s 13 titles do people think that would put him over the top or does the manner in which he does it(with massive spending) mean he can never top this list?
Ferguson spent big to, so no reason why not. The case can be made already, that with 4 titles in 6 years he's dominating like Ferguson.
1 Sir Alex Ferguson
2 Arsene Wenger
3 Jose Mourinho
4 Pep Guardiola
5 Jurgen Klopp
6 Kenny Daglish
7 Claudio Ranieri
Kenny dalglish if it's were a top 10.
Eh, i take it
Can you do seven greatest owners as part of the series?
Number one: Delia Smith.
"Let's be having you"
1. SAF
2-4. Pep, Wenger and Mourinho in no particular order
5. Klopp
6. Ranieri
7. Conte
I'm not gonna say too much, but Sir A.F. only lost one player he didn't want to (CR7) against other managers who lost a lot. Also, managers who spent so much(Pep) should really have this noted. Over £1bn to buy the league, yet LFC still breathe down their necks. I would swap Pep and Jurgen, and drop A.F. down behind Arsene
Had me completely with tim sherwood😂
would love to see a "worst premier league managers" list as an inverse to this
Already mentioned Tony Adams, Steve Kean and Bob Bradley at the start. I'd probably add Jan Siewert, Paul Ince, Chris Hutchings and John Carver
I guessed before the video started and what I got wrong was Pep and Arsene. Had them in each others places.
Sir Alex the Goat
We already know who’s taking top spot
Tim Sherwood
Can you do a starting XI of players that support Brexit?
Still waiting for a video about either the A-League or FC Luch Vladivostok.
I strongly disagree with ranieri he is super boosted by the leicester title and i think some more lower end managers should have got some credit whether that be dyche allardyce or hodgson
Not taking anything from ranieri, it was a great achievement, but he was blessed with the fact that the usual top 4 were having a shocking season, if Liverpool and City were as strong as they are now, he would have been third.
He managed the greatest achievement in Premier League history (by a country mile). Deserves a place on here for that alone.
@@joemckeown2763 Agree. He did well with fairly good teams and uniquely well with Leicester but couldn't turn round bad ones. Most of the other great managers here always had very good teams to work with. How would they have managed with the squads at Fulham and Watford? Sometimes the players just aren't good enough, or there are huge dressing room problems. Even Mark Hughes and Harry Redknapp couldn't salvage QPR - and nobody has managed to turn round Man U for a few years.
@@Klynch111 True, but even Champions League football would have been a fine achievement, let alone the title.
@@iankemp1131 yeah as I said its a great achievement probably one of the best, but, his last 2 jobs he has had pretty rotten luck. In fact he's kinda bounced around from job to job, he needs to retire now before he continues to be a journeyman manager and ruin his legacy.
4th? Respect man
How are ranieri and moyes in there above ancelotti, benitez, conte, houllier etc??
Also having pep above jose feels very wrong
Pep 4 in 5 years, at a sugar daddy club
Jose 3 in 7 years roughly, in 3 clubs, a sugar daddy club, and a mega beast commercial juggernaut
What about King ole ?
Well done Alfie!!
Good one Alfie
I think every EPL supporters would agree that SAF by far the best Manager on EPL history.
1. SAF
2.Jose Mourinho
3. Wenger
4. Ranieri
5. Klopp
Pep?
As a Liverpool fan, pep??
Ferguson
Pep
The rest
I would have put Jose and Klopp the other way around but your motivation for putting them this way I understand and think you may be right just becouse of it's only PL that counts. If CL would be included then it should already be the other way.
Jose Mourinho beats Klopp out for overall trophies and I think if you only count PL and CL, Mourinho is still winning 3-2 so Mourinho is ahead for now plus the Europa he won with United.
Mourinho's achievements still top those of Klopp in the Premier League... watch out for the recency bias.
I think Rodgers takes over Ranieri in this 7 based on the fanatastix job he’s done at Leicester. His big problem is faltering towards the end of the season. Surely he wouldve ranked much higher had he won the PL and finished top 4 in the last two season. All three he missed by a very small margin.
Klopp over Pep
The negative bias you have against Mourinho is unreal. Putting him in only 4th is crazy.
