hey mate, may i know if there's enough cavity in Squier VM JB for these preamp and battery? do you need to do drilling or dig a hole or something for the space? or perfect fit plug and play?

I've got that same bass. And thanks to you Johnny I got the Audere preamp, but got the Pro Z version. Nickel strings for me and a little higher action. BTW... The older MIM basses are as good or better (better, I think) than today's Fender USA offerings. And those "Duncan Design" pickups? That's what the *SQUIER* VM's have in them.
Which amp are you pumping that thing through? I have that same bass in a 2010 version and I put the Audere JZ Pro in. Still looking for the right strings. DR Sunbeams on order. Steels can get a little clanky unless you're playing mostly slap. I still think I'd like to have some noiseless pickups; either the Aguilar AG 5J-HC or the Seymour Duncan Apollos. For those considering the Audere... I don't think the Z switch is all that helpful. I mostly run it in the center position. The up position is quite boomy and the down position is a bit thin unless boosting the bass. Save your money and get the basic one like Johnny Long has in this vid.
Keeping the volume low - helps the fidelity of the video. The main question is.... does it have "War Paint" LOL :) Another Great Video - keep them coming.

I recently had the Audere Pro JZ6D preamp (with the 6-position knob) installed in my Fender Elite bass, and honestly, I really can't dial in any usable tones with it (yes, I've tried it band settings). So, I just ordered one of these what you have in this video, but the one with the passive tone knob. Hopefully that one will work out for me.
Please help sir. I have the OLP mm3 and I’m trying to install an Aguilar OBP3 preamp. The wiring diagram does not show any capacitor what so ever. I’ve soldered all the wires according to the diagram but I’m getting nothing, no sound from the bass but the crackling when inserting the op jack. The preamp is brand new, could there still be something wrong with it? I’m stuck sir please help if you can. Thank you.
Lt. Low-End ...hey thanks for the comment...the preamp will fit...you would have to route a small pocket for the battery...or install a battery box in the back

i installed an Audere Preamp on my Squire Jazz 4, added a new nut on the neck, with DR High Beams! Great sound!!!
