- Today in the Battle Arena, we've got Thor, the god of Thunder, strongest Avenger, guy who's fought against Thanos and alongside Iron Man, Captain America, and Hulk. And he's going up against General Zod, Superman's very first villain. So who's coming out on top here? Well lets find out!

The more I think about Thor being grappled by Thanos, the more I think that in a way, Thor would have the advantage because he is in a compromised position and that should make him fight back even harder than before.
True, but in a position like that you can only use the strength of your arms. So Thor's ARMS while out of shape at "oh shit we are going to die, go all out" are near equal to Thanos's entire body
Disagree in love and thunder storm breaker is shown to have a mind of its own and it’s very possible that the axe it self was fighting Thanos’ push and still losing
Also later on in the movie Thor jumps at Thanos and puts mjrlonir and stormbreaker together and begins pushing against Thanos using all his strength while Thanos was using one arm
And the only reason Thanos struggled with that is because cap jumped into help and remember he was worthy of Thor’s hammer meaning he had the power of Thor which includes his strength

It's pretty clear that Thanos wiped the floor with Hulk at least partly because Thanos was fighting in a disciplined manner, not simply relying on brute strength, like Hulk does. Yes, Thor was overpowered in Infinity War, but we don't know what happened. Power Stone probably helped. Going back to experience, Thor is 1500 years old, and has been training and doing battle for virtually all of that time. Thanos is "only" 1000 years old, but we have no evidence how warlike his culture is (signs point to "not very") and who trained him or how long. So I feel like experience and fighting style could go a long way if they're of comparable strength and battle readiness. Zod is literally bred for battle, but his inexperience with his powers and relative short sun exposure are limitations (honestly I was pretty annoyed how quickly he became a credible threat compared to Kal-El, who'd been there absorbing energy for decades - but that's besides the point).
All that said: yeah, magic lightning and weapons, on top of everything else, would do the trick to defeat Zod with a quickness.
Thanos used to be a skinny twerp. Over time, he got himself swoll. The scars on his face tells the tale of a long, hard life of battles fought, some lost, but most probably won.
@@blackSUAAAVE Objection! Assumes facts not in evidence! That's a recent retcon from comics - in a continuity wherein Thanos is millions of years old. In the MCU, the "scars" are pretty clearly extensions of the grooves from his chin.

Only problem with the comparison there is the version of Zod .. when Zod fought Superman in man of steel he was just begining to adapt and understand his powers had he more time one could argue that superman himself would have been no match for him so ideally you compared Thor in his most powerful form to a Zod in his infancy stage of evolution if you would.

On thing i think the DCEU does better than the MCU is portraying speed and impact of characters strikes. In man of steel the camera movements and angles make them appear quicker than anything in the MCU, as well as the speed of combat(the smallville fight is a good example)
And when superman or Zod punch, the special effects people add little shockwaves and proper sound effects to every punch that adds a feeling of intense impact that I feel is lacking in the MCU. Especially Thor. I feel like visually Thor(and hulk) should give the same impression of strength and power that DCEU superman/Zod give when they fight.
It all comes down to editing and camera work to just make them appear as strong as their feats. I hope I'm making sense.

It kind of started wondering why it never seemed like Thor hit as hard as those other guys. And after looking at man of steel fights and any Thor fight, it was all about how the scene is edited. Superman's fights are edited to make the impacts something you can almost feel while watching. Whereas in the MCU the destruction happens, but no impact is felt.
That all may be true but special effects are not feats.
Based on feats Thor decapitates Zod with Stormbreaker at the very beginning of the fight.
Without Stormbreaker Thor thunderpunches Zod to death.
Also.. even if Thor struggles to tag Zod, Zod has no way of putting Thor down since Thor has eaten punches from Hulk who hits much much much harder than Zod.
Heat vision will make Thor laugh and cold breath will make him laugh harder.
Zod's best bet is to just fly away.

This isn't necessarily a stomp, and a pretty good matchup, but its one of those figts that even though they seem pretty even, you know whos gon win immediately. Thor wins with high to mid difficulty

Zod was nearly as powerful as DCEU Superman, Zod is less durable, but much faster, and arguable just as strong as Thor, Thor would win in a epic fight.

It wasn't a fight it was a STOMP. Superman was like at 20% and Zod was just a beginner...
The real danger in this Movie was Faora, she's the most dangerous Kryptonian In the Dceu and just Like Superman could've ended Zod in the beginning of the fight, Faora could've stabbed him to death immediately or cut his throat, but decided to recognize his bravery and potential and draw her dagger.... Superman was clearly Holding back the entire fight. Zod's punches were sending him flying but nothing more than that, he took NO internal or external damage and Since he pulled his punches against Zod, Zod didn't get hurt either. Personnally I wouldn't even call that a fight, it was more like a sextape, Kal-El fucked him up.

This one would definitely be a battle royale--not one that would end quickly or easily. I think that when all is said and done, both of them would be in pretty bad shape but that Thor would eke out a victory--perhaps by a narrow margin, but a victory nonetheless.
Thor's durability feats gives him a very good reason that he can take Zod's punches.I mean full force of a star and hulk's ground breaking beatings that already puts him as one of the most durable mcu characters. Stormbreaker though, nothing seems to stop it not even an energy beam from the all 6 stone gauntlet. I say Thor 60:40 on round 1. But stomp on round 2 (speed equalized) Com'on speed is the only advantage of Zod take that away its finished.
@Slipstreamz Got it backwards. Superman beat Thor. Superman is a good Kryptonian who holds back from the very beginning (unless it's Doomsday or Darkseid, etc). He only puts up a real fight if needed. Even so, he came out on top a lot. Zod is also Kryptonian but won't hold back. Think of him as an Evil Superman, just a little less skilled. So... If Superman wins, so does General Zod. Plus... It's MCU Thor. Never seen a MCU Stormbreaker. Keep it on topic, & it's not comics.

Well obviously you haven't watched a lot of the mceu movies because they always make Thor disappear because when they're fighting the Chitari or Ultron and his soldiers sewer must just go on a coffee break because he disappears for such a long period because he would just easily be able to maybe not solo them but dominate the fight so much that it would make the other avengers seem kind of secondary but it's better than nerfing him.
This happens in just about every action movie offscreen. It’ll show captain America kicking black panther once and we won’t see panther again for like 10 minutes. That doesn’t mean he was knocked out by any means... off screen is different than defeated. He’s only defeated when it shows him defeated.
If Zod was fully adapted Thor wouldn't stand a chance.

If Thor fights enemies that are strong but also super fast, he should probably stick to mjolnir rather than storm breaker. If he uses storm breaker, the weapon can be use against him while mjolnir you have to be worthy.. Zod can literally just pick up Storm breaker while it's being thrown and use it..

There’s some clear bias in this video. You talking about how durable thor is by taking blows from the hulk and not getting knocked out, but he still clearly took damage. Whereas DCEU Superman, who’s clearly stronger than MCU hulk, was knocking zod through buildings and shit and zod took zero damage in the entire fight. The only dmg he actually took was getting his neck snapped. So saying zod is less durable is headassery imo. I’d say they would be at bare minimum equal in durability but realistically I think zod is more durable considering not much can actually hurt him.

Superman has legit movie feats that surpass everything mcu hulk did(which really wasn’t much but one shot a giant monster ship in avengers 1) until MCU hulk does anything on the scale of shifting tectonic plates to prevent an earthquake, there’s no argument for hulk being stronger period.

For example superman in man of steel was knocked out by the oil rig and he was also briefly knocked out by being thrown through a couple buildings, if he had the strength to move a technoic plate in MoS he wouldn't even feel those things. and the other kryptonians were shown to be weaker then that to. Nam-ek was hurt by bullets and faora was knocked out by a missile.

And tbf, Faora was only knocked out because right before that Superman tackled her and exposed her to all the effects of the yellow sun at once so she was literally in pain. Superman going through the world engine and destroying it is a bigger feat then anything hulk has done in the MCU. We know based on comic book info that krypton is 100x earths gravity. Since the world engine was literally turning earth into krypton using gravity, we can assume that he flew using pure strength through 100x gravity and destroyed it. Interesting battle. With Zod, you're getting a 'Superman' with a Give a Shit Factor of zero and no qualms about killing.
Remember Thor has no problem with Killing either he has murdered so much he's 1,500 years old and slain maybe more that General Zod if I'm being honest. He never really goes his full potential in the Movies cause he ain't trying to destroy the world. But Thor can Easily withstand the damage General Zod can give to him now if he's like superman his weakness will still be Magic which is what Thor has lots of so that will hurt him plus Stormbreaker is a God Killing weapon and withstood and actually surpassed the power of all 6 infinity stones going at it. I just don't see Thor losing this one. When he fights hulk he never goes fully hard and he knows he can take the pain.

Thanos barely had the fully loaded gauntlet when Thor basically sneak attacked him. It was also stated that when Thor threw Stormbreaker at Thanos, he didn't use the full strength of the stones to try to stop it, because he knew he needed to do the snap.

Yes Thor Would win easily, when Superman Faught Zod he was very inexperienced and through out the whole fight he didn't really want to kill him he was more surprised that there were more kryptonians and he wanted to learn from them. But after he realized it was no real way Zod was gonna listen and Obey Superman at the end snapped his neck pretty easy. Plus that was his first time killing. Now Thor on the other hand would have no hesitation on killing Zod and taking the fight more serious than Superman with his 1,000 plus years of fighting experience Stormbreaker by his side, strength, speed and durability.
MCU thor is slow asf, Steve rogers has faster combat speed, also thor has bled in almost every movie he was in while super only bled once

Also storm breaker was meant to absorb energy of the stones thats why it was created, also thanos did not use the full power of the stones, otherwise the gauntlet would have been destroyed. Also it doesnt show thors speed, it shows the speed of storm breaker being thrown by thro smart guy.
