That line just fucking cracked me up!
Damiano has a natural raspy voice, he always had this voice so the smoking doesnt affect him. Thats why he sounds so clear and powerfull, because the raspy effect is not induced, its just his voice
hmmmm maybe now but it will catch up with him in the end. Although I am not a Dr nor have I seen his voice up close. ;)
Damiano has a BUILT raspy voice, he obtains it with a technique learned from his Vocal Coach (Ms. Danila Satragno) called SET CRUNCH. Damiano's singing and natural voice are very clean and not raspy at all
It's not because he's a smoker, other italian singers have that kind of growl, Gianna Nannini, Vasco rossi, Loredana Bertè, for example. I think it's our language that "train" vocal chords to produce it. You can tell because even old as they are, the ones i mentioned still have that growl without having any issues.
But did you notice that Jimmy Fallon was on the bass? Well, he was just pretending, Victoria was sick and they got away with it. Why don't you check out "We are gonna dance on gasoline" in Pomona? Completely different vibes, but I think it's worth it.
I did, it was pretty hilarious. I couldn't figure out if he was actually playing though.

The best part of the song? Damiano' s voice and swagger, he just knows how to control that unique voice of his. You should check torna a casa the acoustic and la parole lontanne from radio italia or la paura del buio. Damiano is a ballad master

Welcome back! I’m glad to know that you’re ok. I can imagine how difficult is to restart after a leg surgery🤗. Thank you very much for the Maneskin choice. To be honest, it’s not my fav song but I can appreciate the meaning been my self a model ( not super) in the ‘90. It’s so true! I escaped from that world 😉. Damiano smokes 5÷6 cigarettes in a day. I'll didn't call him a "heavy" smoker! However, smoking is not a good thing.
Yeah, I wish none of them would smoke - if for no other reason than to have them longer!

sorry , i say this with all the affection in the world and I absolutely love his voice as it is but anyone who follows Damiano on a daily basis knows that he smokes more than 5-6 cigarettes, you can hardly get a picture of him without a cigarette in his hand lol

i thought you were going to say something about the high note on "every night's a heartbreak" because his voice just sounds so different there! it's kinda a result of this song having a more pop/produced sound and i wonder if it's a hard note to reach - because in later performances he just goes for the lower octave.
Idid at the end ;) It isn’t high for him, I think that is a choice he made and not a must.

Jimmy Fallon was not playing bass in this performance. Notice at 7:52 when Fallon jumps with his right arm in the air the bass continues to be heard. Also the ending at 10:06 Fallon plays the closing bass line perfectly using his fist. This was called out on the official UA-cam Fallon page video comments... the video is mysteriously no longer available.
Hahhaaha of course he isn't playing the bass 🤪 it looked ridiculous with his phoney playing but it was a good show trick imo 😉
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach Indubitably! But it appears Jimmy Fallon tried to pull a fast one in the intro claiming it was a 'true story' he actually played bass in the tune. Once it was exposed Fallon was faking - the video was removed. Weak 😎
But he sings like that since he was a kid. Watch video Måneskin before the fame. He has natural raspy voice. Smoking is not the reason.

Nonetheless it does sound a bit "strange" on lyriics, and words don't sound as if written by maneskin. Totally different production. Thanks for replying.
