I really appreciate vids like these and here's why: When I have a better understanding of general strategies, fights become less of trying to just gain enough experience against each class/build to know what to do and then shift to being more about actually playing well enough to win. I still get my ass handed to me plenty, but it's so much better to lose because you got outplayed instead of from just not knowing the lay of the land well enough. In short, stuff like this makes PvP much more enjoyable. Thank you.
listening how to counter the immortal OP trashbenders... "just dodge" was a great tip! dodge these 7 abilities including the instant teleport that goes through walls so they can jump you without you even being able to see them but dodge that yeah... also if you can abuse some buggy locations where they can't port to you... so this "balanced" spec is countered by general game bugs... ok, got it, writing it down!...

i offered more than just dodging as solutions, but if you are playing a class that isn't as powerful you just need to play better than them using all of my tips, or reroll, or accept your loss
@@manthe3711 The general gist that I got for handling willbenders was to use no port spots to limit their ability to chase you, and then after they've burnt a few tools trying to get onto you burst them back because they don't have much sustain and their offensive and defensive mobility are the same cooldowns. Really they are a test of your awareness in the same sort of way a thief does, if you spot them coming and can react they can be worked around, but if you don't then they can feel unfair.

Any tips on how to fight them as sword weaver? Willbender is pretty much the only spec that kills me. They always jump me from out of nowhere and their first two hits deal about 14k dmg to me. Even if I dodge those two hits, every things else does 2k+ damage to me. I cannot out run them cause of their infinite chase potential, and I cannot burn them down first because they do the same damage as 11k hp full glass cannon ele with still having 20k hp, being immune to cc, and having some "save me" skills too. Also, I cannot stay in anti-port spots because i have less range than them and I cannot weapons swap to a ranged weapon and using scepter really lacks in the self sustain department. I'm getting so tired of getting matched up against one to three willbenders every match. Makes me want to punch a hole through my screen. They really seems like they are absurdly overpowered.
I am laughting since eod hits and everybody flamed u for playing bender cos its trash and called us trashbenders till now when everybody r flaming u cos its suddenly “too op” . yea lets nerf it so we all can come back to power herald nd i am asking - do u rly want that ? i dont think so 😂

In my experience, good Bladesworn players have very high sustain from their mobility. They come in for the burst, then immediately kite out of range before the counterattacks, charge up after gaining some distance, counter slash. Being aggressive when countering Bladesworns is correct, but part of that is having the mobility to chase after them after their initial burst too. If you have a Bladesworn in fighting range after his initial burst, you have him dead to rights.
I still mainly play Daredevil and Holo and the only new specs i struggle with are basically every random Mecanist ever and the few Willbenders and Catalysts that really know what they're doing. But hey who would had seen coming that a pet spec would be toxic AF in PvP? Oh yeah, everybody.

I feel like the "Harbinger counter" is outdated. They barely ever enter shroud and have a lot of sustain/defense from constantly stacking Death's Carapace. So they have A LOT of toughness and it's hard for classes that aren't burst kings like Willybender/DH/Herald to kill them 1v1, almost impossible in fact..
@@Vallun I mean, yes, I know it has nothing to do with Harbinger, but the fact they can get 30 stacks of that stuff and in fact, keep it up almost constantly, kinda defeats the purpose of Harbinger being "a glass cannon", cause it can survive for a long time. That was my point
you'd need to pressure them hard enough that they can't keep casting conditions to get stacks of carapace which pulses the protection. Essentially use CC

Being a noob, I decided to try a thief before boosting it. To my astonishment I learned you can't use stealth with your weapon skills unless you are in combat. And here I thought stealth in GW2 was like World of Warcraft where you can just sit in stealth eternally anytime you want. Unless of course I'm missing something.... is there a way for a thief to enter and stay in stealth without an enemy target? Seems strange because I can enter stealth as a mesmer without a target.
@@itachi4634 Odd.... I hit my combat skills without a target and can't stealth. Yes, I know I can use the regular utility skills for stealth, but those combat skills use the initiative and don't get me into stealth. When I hit my pistol 5 for example, the initiative is used but no stealth.
@@henrythegreatamerican8136 pistol 5 is a smoke field, you'll need to leap in that area to get stealth. notable examples are heartseeker (dagger 2), rifle standing 4 (the backwards teleport), and daredevil bounding dodger trait. You can also do it with the smoke screen utility as well as rifle 4 smoke field
@@etofok Yea, I'm having more fun with the mech engineer for now. And it has nothing to do with the pet. I just like the balance of utility skills. I wish there was a way to bake 60% of the pet into yourself as a sacrifice for those of us who don't really want it. So if the pet gets nerfed I don't really care. I just hope ANET doesn't touch the utility skills. I really wanted to play a mesmer but hate how virtuoso had very little mobility. So engineer it is!

My problem with willbender is they have too many teleport atks. Combined with quick pre-atk telegraph, it's almost impossible to anticipate their burst
there's a reason its flavor of the month right now, it preys on people who don't react quickly to it and people who don't know what to dodge or how to position
what's really intresting is that catalyst or elem in general have a LOT of projectile reflect so tbh catalyst hard counter harbinger, bladesword, virtuoso, specter (if they're not condi) and mech so atm catalyst is accualy rly strong

Double dagger , sigils of energy and doom. Fire - 1-2-2 , earth 3-1-3 , tempest 3-2-3. Key points you get protection at -40 percent incoming dmg , you get protection from auras , overloads and earth rune, you have auras after an overload - so long story short the protection up time on this is huge, you get most dmg from fire overload , then earth because of the bleed and Condi specs we have here, tempest grandmaster trait elemental bastion gives you frost aura when u are at 75 percent health and also this makes it so every aura heals you so you have auras out of overloads which = a little burst heal after overload it makes your water overload heal for more and I find it noticeable. Utilities are , Feel the burn , this can be triggered during an overload without interrupting the overload for more dmg and a small burst heal , aftershock which reflects projectiles and immobilizes up to five enemies , I hit aftershock before my fire overload to root them in my overload and reflect some counter pressure, most form for survivability and stomping in mist form is op, rebound as the ult will save you from death and others and it also triggers an aura when it’s over which gives you protection and a heal because of how we’re traited, enjoy.
What is this advice for Bladesworn even? No mention of shouts or how to actually deal with it, just an advice to dodge dragon trigger. You don't kill it "being aggressive when they are in DT", you wait for a +1 and stunlock it the best you can - because you can't feasibly kill it 1v1 on point. And if you want to avoid it you run, because it can't chase well.
What?? I have won against then 1v1 and what he said is pretty acurate. There are windows you can exploit to dish out some damage, and if you can deal enough he's done. If not he can kite and sustain back, but you don't have to run if you know what you're doin'.

Does the permanent protection on death magic Harbis constantly refresh? Or does removing it keep it off for awhile.
It pulses every three seconds, so while in theory you can strip it you don't have a very large window to punish in.

stealth is not gained by using pistol 5, its gained by using 5 and dagger 2, combo finisher leap into combo field smoke

Bladesworn is easy to beat 1v1 if you’re not a potato
if you bring lots of condi and interrupt you can make them potato. but yeah still powerfull bringing another eod spec is better idea.
