    I’ve been looking at travel trailers on & off for over a year. What I’ve found is COVID caused a lack of employees at manufacturing plants,& Ive read a lot about used parts put in new RV’s. I read over & over where people traded in an older RV for a new one & had one problem after another & some used them once then waited months to get a repair. Even restaurants where we live still have skeletal staff so I’m sure manufacturers have the same problem, so I’ve decided to buy an RV 2019 & before. In addition, the top ten brands before COVID are no longer the top brands. When I looked up the top ten brands now then read the reviews, I was shocked to find very low ratings. Now I read the reviews on a new RV & find out what RV brands the people traded in & now wish they kept. I’ve decided people’s reviews are the most important thing you can do.

      It's true that new RV buyers these days have been experiencing a lot more issues and problems than before the pandemic. So choosing a pre-Covid rig is not a bad idea. But I find personal reviews of entire brands based on ownership of a single model that had problems is not a very reliable way to get solid usable information about which brands to buy. There are many RV buyers who complain loud and long about an RV brand because they had a single model that had lots of problems. But the way RVs are made by hand these days means that you can easily get an RV with issues from almost any brand out there. However, some brands manage overall quality better than others. And generally, I find that the brands that built with quality that was relatively better than their competition before Covid are still doing the same now. It's just that when they turn out poor quality RVs, it's more noticeable now.

    How do we find an inspector in the area where the trailer is being sold?

    • @RVInspectionAndCare
      @RVInspectionAndCare  2 місяці тому

      Just visit nrvia.org and select "Find An Inspector". Then you can view all of the local inspectors on the map there and contact them about their availability. Any certified NRVIA inspector has the necessary training to provide a top quality RV inspection for you. I usually recommend choosing the one that you feel most comfortable with

    How do you arrange an inspector to come to the dealership and inspect it? Just find one and call them up? How does that work?

    • @RVInspectionAndCare
      @RVInspectionAndCare  Рік тому +1

      I recommend that you visit nrvia.org and choose the option for "Find An Inspector". Then look for local inspectors on the map you see there. You will find their contact information and websites listed. And using that information you can contact them and ask if they can fit you into their schedule. But make sure that the dealership is ok with allowing an RV inspection on their property first. Thanks for watching Amy!

    Being new to RV's, I've been researching and 1 question always pops up. Which brands are a "quality RV?" Can MSRP be a guide ( you get what you pay for)? I 've looked at a few "best RV' lists and other than Airstream, no other brand seems to stand out. A top 5 brand on 1 list doesn't even make the top 10 on the next list. Is there a legitimate guide available ?

      Hi Jerry. In many cases you get what you pay for in life, and that is also true in buying RVs. But I personally feel that a list of quality RVs should not just include those at the high end of the market as there are only a relative few buyers who can afford them. But I think it's more honest to assess high end quality, mid-range quality, and entry level quality. And that's what I attempt to do in all of my recommended lists of quality manufacturers and brands. As far as why "best RV" lists vary that often just comes down to opinions from different people. And since any list like that is mainly subjective, that's OK. But a good question to ask is how much experience and knowledge does the person who made that list actually have with various kinds of RVs and brands? And ultimately, you have to decide who you choose to listen to for reliable information just like we all do. I hope that helps.

    I know this video doesn't have anything to do with water softeners but it is the most recent video and I should get more attention from you then one 3 years ago but what is you opinion to have and using a salt free water softener. seems a little strange that water softener companies don't make a salt free units and make them short enough to keep them in storage compartments and not having to keep them out side where they can be stolen, thank you IN advance

      Sorry but I haven't heard of any salt free portable water softeners for RV use so far. We use the portable On-the-Go water softener and it has worked very well for us. We have had no issues with anyone trying to steal it and I don't know anyone who has. So I haven't made an update to the last water softener video because there is nothing for me to update at this point. When something significantly better comes along, I'll probably make a video about it then.
