See the eternal movies kinda robbed them of the depth of these characters. I know in the manga they're villians but damn eternal seemed rushed and cheap.
As I recall, the Amazon Trio were barely there in the manga (which all of Crystal/Eternal pulls from)...much like the Shitennou and the Ayakashi Sisters. Most of the minor villains got nuked hard and fast in the manga, with only the BBEG or those with plot-armor reasons for existing actually sticking around to be a threat. I mean, manga!Nephrite showed up in Act 3 of the manga and was dead in Act 5, and anime!Nephrite has arguably the longest arc as villain in the first season, setting up his whole redemption arc, for example. The Trio weren't important as anything other than fodder to awaken the Senshi's new power level, the Amazon Quartet were plot-armored, so the former got the fast axe, the latter got actual story time.

To be fair, they didn’t make it hard for cencors to make Fisheye female. It even feels weird to hear him speak with a male voice.
