    I am a final year honors degree electrical engineering student, and my final year project is to design and construct a cost effective 1kW dc to ac inverter with automatic switching function. I am in the early stages of my design, and this video has helped me a lot. It has made things that will be useful for my design known to me, and it has enhanced my basic knowledge of inverters. Thank you very much, Ma'am🤝.

    its such simple presentation that any one who wants to understand and thank you for that girl, but as we all know that inverter is conversion of dc to ac but u just get +vdc and -vdc which is not converted to ac u must show that how we get the Ac voltage like u used to get vdc, and how to mitigate the THD in the circuit...?... thanks.

    Is it possible to read output voltage of MLI using multimeter ???
    If we are using three dc source such as V , 2V , and 4V as input and output as 7V , so if 9v , 18v , 36v as input and output as 63v (AC) , but I am getting only 36V (AC) as output while checking in multimeter. So wheather it is working good or not , but in matlab simulation it shows 63V correctly.

      What is the exact problem u r facing with the output values? If it is the magnitude of repeating sequence it will be Vmax/9 where Vmax is the max value of the desired output voltage and value 9 comes from (level-1)/2 i.e. (19-1)/2=9

    hello madam, at present i'm doing a project for my under graduation on this multilevel inverter concept. i'm done with a seven level inverter with pwm technique but my thd analysis shows more thd i.e., 32.4% which is not at all considered to be accepted i'm trying to reduce that harmonic distortions by changing the pwm technique to modified pwm or spwm technique. i need to solve this by this month end please help me in this project. i loved your explanation for this video. and pleaseing to to help me.

    • @letslearnelectricalenginee4671
      @letslearnelectricalenginee4671  6 років тому

      Try to increase the number of levels by modifying your topology
      There will be almost an exponential fall in THD value with increasing number of levels

    • @nagasaidasari339
      @nagasaidasari339 6 років тому

      thank you for your fast response, and a complete confusion in types of pwm techniques that use different procedure like GENETIC ALGORITHM and Lshade-Espin algorithm . are they useful for me for my under graduation level?

    • @letslearnelectricalenginee4671
      @letslearnelectricalenginee4671  6 років тому

      You can find many types of algorithms if you search for IEEe research papers. Since power electronics and especially multilevel inverter is trending topic the number of algorithms and different types of topologies are increasing day by day. All you need to do is to select that particular topology and modulation technique(ofcourse which is simple) which gives you minimum THD. Techniques like Space vector modulation, SHPWM needs a lot of effort and is too much for BTech level. So choose a simpler one.
      Don't get confused with all those techniques at the last minute.
      Just take two-three days to decide which is best for you and work it out.

    • @letslearnelectricalenginee4671
      @letslearnelectricalenginee4671  5 років тому +6

      It is not multiple of 3...
      It is about even harmonics and odd harmonics.
      Consider a Sinewave. For fundamental waveform there is one positive halfcycle within pi.
      Whereas for 2nd harmonic there is one positive halfcycle and negative halfcycle and therefore cancels out each other(try to imagine the waveform). For third harmonic there are two positive halfcycles an one negative halfcycle. So still there is one positive halfcycle left out after cancellation. So in this way it continues for all other harmonics.finally all even harmonics are cancelled out and only odd harmonics are left out.
      In other way....
      every random waveform can be represented by sinusoidal waveform using Fourier series.
      If you simplify that equation all the even terms get cancelled out and odd terms are left out.
      So there are only odd harmonics present in the circuit like 3,5,7,9....

      @@letslearnelectricalenginee4671 Thank you so much. I dont think so I will learn everything soon, I am already in 3rd year :( It is not that I am a bad student, but my university sucks. Teachers make mistakes all the time and will not accept it. For example, all of them say that transmission conductors are stranded to reduce skin effect (i hope they are wrong or i will look like an idiot lol). This is just one example, they will show you slides on a projector and read it or at best, translate it from English to our language. Slides will clearly say "2008" and teacher will say its a new technology because it says it on a 10 years old file. Btw it is Mehran UET, Jamshoro, Pakistan. I wish to leave this place, but my education is simply preventing it lol. Can I really ask anything about topics in future that you havent even uploaded? Thank you so much Alkamie! Wish you luck in life.
