Dinky Captain Scarlet SPV Restoration No. 104. Gery Anderson TV Series. Cast model.

- The Dinky 104 is a Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle (SPV) was produced from 1968 to 1976 and was one of three vehicles licensed from Gerry Anderson's Captain Scarlet in The Mysterons television series. Other vehicles produced by Dinky include the 103 Spectrum Patrol Car (SPC) and the 105 Maximum Security Vehicle (MSV). In the video, you can turn on subtitles in your language with a commentary on the action. The SPV was packed with features, such as having doors that opened automatically to reveal Captain Scarlet and rear tracks that could be lowered. Towards the end of production, the Model had simplified door opening and Captain Scarlet did not lower to the ground. The front bumper was black, not white as at first, and the decals were paper. I got a model that was previously disassembled. Several parts were in a plastic bag and some were missing. I made all the repairs and a set of stickers in the form of decals. I also made a box according to the original, in which this model looked beautiful. Thank you for watching the video, I publish videos with car repair on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Very strange toy
Superb restoration
Thank jou very much
Extremely complex restoration here, you did an unbelievable job buddy. The result is astonishing. Big thumbs up on this one. 😁👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much
I've never seen this model before. It's pretty cool. Great job Paul 👍
Thank jou very much
Being an avid Captain Scarlet watcher as a lad , plus loving anything miniature and appreciating the skill involved in your work , this was 40 plus minutes well spent , brilliant.. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.. Alan Preston .. age 67 😂👍🏻
Thank jou very much Alan
I appreciate the great effort that went into restoring this! Well done!
This is on my list, I have already restored the SPC and MSV, both with boxes.
Thank you very much
Great work as always.
I love this model . Awesome restoration.
Mike 😊
Thank jou very much Mike
Vielen Dank
Bovington camp, 1971(ish) playing with my new Captain Scarlet SPV in the back garden. Fired my rocket straight down the grid outside the backdoor --- never to be seen again!!!!!
(Some memories never leave you! 😔)
real shame
Wow, cool futuristic tank casting. Another Dinky model I’ve never seen. Awesome!
Thank jou very much
Brilliant! Really great stuff....enjoyed that a lot 👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻
The SPV was my favourite Captain Scarlet/Spectrum vehicle.........
Thank jou very much
Restauração fantástica Paul, parabéns!
Muito obrigado Mauricio
Oh my goodness. Another throw back to my childhood and one of my favourites! It amazes me today how we were so entertained by such 'simplistic' productions by today's standards. This restoration is amazing. To see these 'toys' come back to life in your hands, is amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much
I had this model as a kid. We were on vacation to the Bahamas and my mom bought it for me. Growing up corgi and dinky toys pretty much kept this lonely kid occupied. seeing this brings back lots of forgotten memories.
Very cool
The detail of building a box for the toys makes a big difference to me.
Thank you very much
merci beaucoup Pedro
Could never figure out that backwards driving thing. Great restoration, well done, Paul.
American military transport planes used to carry all passengers facing backwards because it's so much safer in a bad landing or a crash. In this case Captain Scarlett faces rearward and drives while using a mirror. Seems perfectly normal when you watch the show.
Cheers!
Brilliant job Paul, it can now sit next to the armoured bullion car you restored a few weeks ago 👍
Thank jou very much Mark

One of my all time favorite toys. Got mine in 1971. Long gone, but…..I still have Captain Scarlet in my jewelry box!
Cool
Restauração genial, Paul! 👍
Fantastic job, Paul. Such attention to details down to the smallest parts 👏 👍

Thank jou very much
THIS IS THE VOICE OF THE MYSTERONS! Excellent resto I also love that you have a giant box of spare tracks..Fun stuff! Oh and now I will have the theme tune in my head All day now hehe
Thank jou very much James
Paul, I've watched several of your restoration videos, and I admire how thorough and accurate you have been with your restorations, even down to the reproduced vehicle boxes. I'm not quite clear as to the sources and how these box templates are made for you to print out, but they certainly take the restoration process to a concours level. Remember - many of us had these diecast vehicles and planes as kids, and they bring back good memories, but by saving these worn diecast toys, you're preserving history.
Thank you very much
Very nice work, those missiles really fly dont they!
Thank you very much
Had one for Christmas in 1973, somehow managed to break the chasis off the main body and it is now lost in the mists of time during about 5 or 6 house moves in my childhood! Looked at buying a replacement off Ebay recently and a mint boxed example now worth a fortune like many "Anderson" models. You can buy most of the parts in order to restore a knackered one but depends on your ability as shown in the video. Plastic kits are one thing but even more skill is required for accurate diecast rebuilds along with a wealthier bank account!
cool
The paint is amazing, Paul. But what is fantastic is how you basically rebuilt the entire vehicle. Wow!
You're in a class by yourself, Paul -- master modeller extraordinaire. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much Randy
well done ~~ nice job !!
Thank jou very much
Absolutely fantastic restoration. I don’t want to nit pick (but I will🙄) I’m sure this vehicle was driven by Capt. Blue not Scarlet. 🤷🏼♂
Thank you very much
Stunning work Paul such fantastic attention to detail thank you for video
Paul ☘☘

Love it... adapt, improvise, and overcome... that captain looked perfect. I honestly wouldn't have known the difference.
Thank you very much James
@Paul Restorer goodmorning Paul, how are you. I'm uncertain if it's morning where you're at but it is here. I was wondering, do you happen to have any stickers I might be able to have? Reason is, I put them on my toolbox for inspiration with my restorations. Oh, and, only the restorers that are my favorites. Lol
@@jamesfield5346 I have lots of stickers. Please write to me on my email. It is on my channel in the about section, or contact me via Instagram. Kind regards
@Paul Restorer awesome... thank you so very much. Kind regards in return.
@Paul Restorer is this your email? youtube.com/@PaulRestorer? Or is it something else? I cannot find a valid email.
Niiiiiiiiiiice one, i remember my SPV,i used my school dinner money for the week to buy it and i had to patina it up on the way home from school so as not to get a good smacking for spending my lunch money 💰 lol 😝
Thank you very much
FANTASTIC JOB !
Dude!!! Will you ever cease to impress???
I don’t think so. That restoration was extraordinary.
Thank you very much Carlos
This is Beautiful work! Another toy Saved!! Love that tire track bits box:)

You have turned into another beautiful gem! It's amazing how time and time again you manage to realize a complete model from an incomplete model.
Thank you very much

Thank you very much Neil
SUPERB restoration 👍🏼 brings back childhood memories for certain . Well done
Thank you very much
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this for a long time!
Thank you very much
@@PaulRestorer You should create a museum of restored Dinky, Corgi and Matchbox vehicles. It’ll spark so many happy childhood memories for a lot of people.
I can’t remember if Dinky made a Lady Penelope’ pink Rolls Royce or not.
I know there’s a strange looking vehicle from Joe 90 made by Dinky (I had one).
Will you be restoring the Soace 1999 Eagle Transporter and Freighter, and the USS Enterprise and Klingon D7 (with shooting discs and shuttle in the Enterprise belly)?
I like this Captain Scarlet SPV die cast model Gerry Anderson the TV series that's so cool very nice. ❤️👍🤗😀😁
Una Figata 😍
Grazie mille Enrico
Nice job , I would think someone would pay $200.00 or more for that .
Thank jou very much
Das war eine ganz große Operation Paul. Toll gemacht. LG Jan
Vielen Dank Jan
Hi Paul. I had one of these from my dad. It had no tyres, no captain scarlet and no missile/rocket. I never knew about any of the play features until now. Thankyou! Good job as always. 😋👍🏽
Cool. Thank you very much
Great restoration! Spectrum is green! 😁
Thank you very much

Every bit as good as the model itself! I love the Olfa tools, and Paul does it all freehand. It's lovely to watch.
@@randytaylor1258 Jep!
Vielen Dank Arnold
Amazing ❤️
Thank you very much
Pozdrawiam serdecznie
I never heard of this series must be the UK I am in the states but very cool toy built really well. You cannot buy toys like this anymore like everything else .Love the restoration I find this and the mold making very therapeutic and relaxing for some reason.
Made in England 1967 by the Thunderbirds people, clips and episodes on YT, these marionettes were not caricatures but correct human proportions, and no strings from above.
@@john_smith1471 Hummm that is why never seen of it or heard of hit interesting

Very nice work Paul 🍻👍
Thank jou very much
I had this when I was a kid in the 70's
Cool
Muchas gracias
Thanks you set me on a path down another rabbit hole, I don't think I ever heard of that TV series.
Thank you very much
Rather an interesting video, and I think you did a great job! I've got a Dinky SPV myself, I received it for a Xmas (or was it birthday?) present quite a lot of years ago, and since which time, it's become a bit "worse for wear", ie a bit battered, while the side door has broken off completely. All due to my having played with it rather excessively in my younger days, ie knocked/"driven" it off skirting boards and the like, while trying to emulate Captain Scarlet's adventures! But in spite of this, I think it's still redeemable as it were, and as such I dare say I may have a go a restoring/repairing it one day. In which case, I'm sure this video will be a useful guide.
Thank you very much. I wish you good luck with your renovation
@@PaulRestorer No bother, and thank you very much!
The best toys ever , my favorite was Tracy lsland, followed by sky diver , but all of them were top notch.
Thank you very much
Fantastic 🎉
Thank jou very much Roger
Oh man!!! I had one of these when I was a kid. It was so cool. Lovely restoration.👏👏👏👏
Cool ,Thank you very much
thunderbirds /Capt Scarlet /Joe 90 loved them all as a kid
cool
Had one of these for Christmas the year they were released.
Managed to snap off the driver within half an hour😢.
No super glue in those days, Christmas ruined😊.
Later issues had the seat and driver firmly attached to the sliding door. Presumably to stop small children from swallowing them...
Amazing job!!!😯😯😯👍👍👍
Thank jou very much
'We are the Mysterons...' Okay, not really. just me Paul to say, another superb build and resto. Lovely work on bringing this back to life, well done mate.
Thank you very much
Nice toy my friend
Thank jou very much
I used to have one of these as a kid and loved it !
Cool, Thank you very much
This was like memory therapy for me. Loved it. One question though......did the SPV fire a rocket or as you described it, a racket? 😂
Thank you very much

Ich hatte auch so Teil. Lange ist es her. Da kommen Erinnerungen hoch. Fast wie eine Zeitreise. Super, dass Du es restaurierest.
Cool, Vielen Dank
great job! the translator uses the phrase "mold divider" to prevent the two halves of the mold from sticking together; is that what we English speakers would call a "release agent?"
Yes -- preventing the 2 halves from merging together.
Thank you very much
It's nostalgic and wonderful!
I also had this SPV when I was a kid!
cool
That is a fantastic restoration of the Spectrum Persuit Vehicle (SPV) , from Captain Scarlet, Paul👏 👌
Thank you very much Jerry

Outstanding restoration again paul ,very interesting to watch ,and good moulding. All the best Martin 👍
Thank you very much Martin
Belo trabalho

My favourite part is where you use the electric drill pointed into your otherwise bare hand.
Cool
Nicely done kolego ✌️😎
Thank you very much Don
Watched many episodes of Captain Scarlet, loved the restoration!
Thank you very much Ron
I have the complete captain scarlet dvd collection watching it today takes me back to a simpler time the 60s
Lovely job. Your model is one, I think, of the second release wave for the model, which has the plastic guard on the door control. I actually liked that, though mine, from 1968, does not have one. Such a great toy, though.
Thank you very much
