yes, this is spot on. he could have tolerated dave's behavior. he could have tolerated martin getting all the public credit (aside from people who know better) and song-writing royalties (as this is, unfortunately, how the music industry works). But alan sharing producer credit with the rest of the band, fletch in particular, was absurd. fletch served absolutely no purpose in that band other than being a proxy vote for martin (and providing the odd clap). and it ultimately it was martin's fault for not being a man and remedying the situation because conflict avoidance is his thing when gets the accolades, the money and an extra vote. i lost almost all respect for martin for all this and the weaknesses of his song-writing became glaring without alan's producing/arranging and general music sensibilities that kept martin in check.
There’s two modes. BA (before Alan) and AA (after Alan). Personally speaking, if I was in a workplace environment and I felt I wasn’t receiving the reward for work carried out, whilst someone else who’s input was less than considerable was receiving the same monetary output, I’d be pissed off too. AW is too much of a gentleman to point fingers but those of us with functioning eyes and a sense of doing the right thing know differently. Their output since AW’s departure has been good, just not as good. Like a bike with one wheel or with both shells, missing the spokes.
Hahahahah, that's so effin' funny 😂😂😂 I adore this video and your sense of humour, pls make more!! "Andy, you useless prick(...)", "Apologize", "No" and "I think I'm truthing" 😂😂😂
The only DM albums I like so far from post Alan era is Ultra and Exciter because the production was awesome. To me those two are masterpiece. Tim Simenon and Mark Bell did a great job and also the songwriting was nice at that point. Ben Hiller killed the band for me, but also the band's songwriting deteriorated to the point that for the first time I started hate some songs from them, like Perfect, In Sympathy, etc. I never hate any DM songs before including the whole first album.
So doritos is the one to blame? Damn Doritos. why had to be you Doritos ! And on the same token !Nobody but nobody can't mess with Mr.Wilder Doritos. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm the biggest Alan Wilder fan. But I wonder whether Alan Wilder over-estimated his future prospects without DM. That said, Alan isn't greedy like the other band members; so, that has to be taken into account.
Alan said he can’t imagine himself in a boy band in his 30s and beyond because he wanted to raise a family… well SOFAD happened and it gave him a reason to leave. Dave said it best “Alan chose happiness”.
Martin and Allan, Artistical difference - there can be only one. They couldn't see that they were better together, in the end It's the fans that suffer.
I saw a quote that Alan said he accomplished everything that there was to be accomplished within the Depeche Mode dynamic. The problem is that I don't think he appreciated how much making Martin's songs into masterpieces had become so central to his identity.
Well... first the says he wants to be alone - for real. Daniel Miller: “Alan said, ‘Look, the next album I don’t really want you guys to be around in the studio.’ All the others were saying, ‘Well, that’s not how we see things for the next record.’ “ Depeche Mode: The Biography by Steve Malins
you lost to much time for this cheezy so called joke, the reality is if Martin was not around maybe you were making jokes just about parrots and Speak and spell ;D ps: answering to the question "why Alan left:" because he wanted to, their roles where very balanced, he had no reason to leave a working formula: Martin genius compositions, Dave amazing vocals and him with great orchestrations/sound design (studio time). (and Andy don't deserve too much time for a parody video). If he stayed now he was not in position to sell his equipment to have a better life ;) I am sure he regrets this decision every day of his life.
@@hollowhex the real reason alan left is exactly for the reasons in your video. "their roles where very balanced"? fuck out of here. "If he stayed now he was not in position to sell his equipment to have a better life." he got pennies on the dollar dipshit. "I am sure he regrets this decision every day of his life." And so do DM fans because DM has been mostly shit since.
alexwestconsulting Alan is at a happier place. He looks 15 years younger than the rest and healthier. I believe the rest of the band got burnt out after Violator tours and Alan loving music so much wanted to keep churning them out. Such a shame. Alan completed the band.
@@alexwestconsulting mister Asslex I think you forgot to take your medicine, with this attitude, even if it was true what you are saying (and of course is not) nobody will believe you cause you are a really anxious person, go "consult" your brain before insulting people without reason on youtube believing you are safe behind an I.P.
@@alexwestconsulting speak for yourself bro. I love old DM as much as do now and so millions of fans who actually can get over stuff that happened 25 years ago.
Alan turned out to be selfish when he decided to leave. At the same time he left the fans and DM's music. It appears that he didn't care much about fans feelings and whether DM would survive at all. There is a question: which job is perfect? I am sure there isn't any. In one interview, he expressed something like, that there were disputes in DM, but they were dealing with them internally. However, with the justification of his departure from the band, he reveled the internal band issues in public hence somehow blaming the band he was a member of and in fact could have influenced it. He admitted defeat. At that time he used to live almost like a king. So really, what he was thinking ? Being a member of DM was he facing a great life injustice? To me, Alan, when he left, acted like an immature and a spoiled kid.
Fletcher is the one who drew first blood. He started his shit long before the tour. I saw Alan and Andrew almost get in a physical fight when I was backstage. Alan having to apologize for Andrew pushed him over the edge. I thought my sexy man cat was going to punch Andy in the back of the head. That would have been fine.
I really wish Alan could see this
same here
Fr
Why did I crack up on "Fletcher do something"?
Because its true. Music wise he does fuck all. Alan will always be the musical genius behind depeche mode.
Alan knew Fletch was useless by 1982 or sooner. He never would've asked him to do anything.
EVERY TIME DAVE WAS ON SCREEN I FUCKING WHEEZED SO HARD I LOVE THIS
That's a 100% of what happened.
I NEED MORE. Dave partying and bonking Alan on the head got me wheezing. Also fuck that parrot.

"i lost almost all respect for martin for all this" - yep, same here
Agreed!
This is ridiculous! DM exists because of Martin's songs and Dave's Voice! Alan was great, but was not the reason DM were successful.
@@johnj28 why does the band suck since he left then?
@@alexwestconsulting That is your opinion! The SOLD OUT Concerts say otherwise!
Coming soon a 32 part video series by Vaughn George on how the Doritos brand is to blame for the terrible music we have today. Fan Boy Alert!!!
"I'LL DO IT MYSELF" OMG I CRIED SO BAD😭😭😭😭
When Alan left DM, the music just sounded different. I do appreciate some of DM’s music in the “post Alan” years, but the sound is just not the same.
"No, we're making jesus rock amen"😈👍🏻🖤
WHY DOES THE VOICE SORT OF SOUND LIKE MART

Just came across this. I'm so glad I watched it...twice so far. This is so funny.
Martin’s and Alan’s voice are quite alike themselves
"I SURRENDER HEART AND SOUL!"
Bruh, even Dave hinted Alan's departure in the album.
