Another sharp Mopar build by you Raoul and thanks for posting your video, too! The '70 AAR 'Cudas really are and were stunning to look at, and they look fast even standing still!
Nice Video -- You're one of the Very Few Who Gives out the Different Info on the Various kits. I like the Cudas & the Challengers Also. Must be the Roof line Is so similar to the Early Camaros . It Certainly helped sell those cars back in the day. Thanks for Sharing.
That has held up well for being such an old build. I just explained to my daughter what mail order was. She looked at me like I grew up in the Middle Ages. Amazing work as always Raoul!
Thanks. It was mildly rebuilt about 15 years ago, maybe closer to 20 now. It’s funny explaining how things used to be! My son was asking me if I had a phone when I was his age. I told him yes but they were different. It was attached to the wall and I had to check and make sure my mom was not on it.
The AAR Cuda is one of my favorites too. I owned a limelight '70 340 4 spd with factory air back in the early 90's. It was freshly restored and I paid $9k , which was a ton of money at the time. I regret selling the car, but it was a blast while I owned it. I'd love to get one of the MPB conversion kits. They don't seem to pop up very often. Thanks for sharing another fantastic build!
Nice! You actually owned one. I used to read auto trader all the time and they were not that expensive back then! One I really wanted to buy was a 70 Chellenger RT in plum crazy, white stripes and white interior. It was nicely restored to stock and was a 383 4sp car. It was 1994 and was $7500. That was a lot but not crazy. I just could not get a loan for that at the time. That would be like 25k today. Not outrageous but not easy for a 21 year old.
Very cool video. Awesome model. Cuda's are one of the best Mopars. I never owned one, but did own a 66 Charger, 68 Dart & 69 Super Bee. Nice story about getting into cars & all the car mags. A cousin get me interested in muscle cars when I was 12. He did some drag racing and gave me all of his car magazines. One of my favorites was Super Stock & Drag Illustrated. Miss those😩
The Cuda body style gets me too. There is no other car that triggers my admiration like this one (and the 71). But my god, the kit manufacturers, did they ever struggle to get the proportion right.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler even the second run at it by Revell in 1/25 scale is not capturing the vibe of the 1:1 car. The body is not wide enough and the front grill needs to be made wider and slimmer. That kit was a must get when it came out but mine is still sitting in its box. It needs too much work to get it to look like a 1:1 Cuda. I wish the Jo-Han molds were still around….
Great video! A neat piece of your modeling history to be sure. I was in the process of asking which version was your favorite when you answered that question! I built the 1st version quick upon the heels of its release. I was less than pleased with that kit (molded in Sublime Green😂), I then built 2nd version when it was released. Turbine Bronze from Testors back when they were doing their factory colors line. It is one of my favorite builds. That beautiful red is a reminder that I really need to get that replica of that red urethane bumpered Hemi 'Cuda built. That stands as maybe the best muscle car ever in my book.
Too bad Revell can't make a proper version of this car😢biggest fault is the real car had staggered size tires to get proper rake....even the newer issue has improper tires.....

Thanks and I agree. This was one sharp looking package!

I appreciate that! Thanks!
Very nice build. It has aged well. I remember mail-ordering stuff back in the day. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. Now it is hard to wait 4-6 weeks and many would consider it crazy to prepay for that service.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler But that is what we had to do if you wanted things back then.
@@michaelcooke2559 Yes, I was telling Ryan that back when I was a child. The TV didn’t wait for you. You either watched it or you missed it.
It's so good when you put your hands on camera I jumped back
LOL!

Those side stripes and the white lettered tires really do it for me, awesome build
Thanks 👍. I like it also!

couldn't run it on "todays'" gas

Very cool! Nice cars to have had!
Great story about an early conversion. Nice Cuda.
Thank you!
What a truly gorgeous build.
I enjoyed the story of your early conversation. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
You always do such clean, tight builds❤love your channel keep jamming out the wicked builds😊
Thank you so much!!
Great build! Pretty cool trans kit from the past.
Thank you!

Thanks. I don’t think the emphasis was on accuracy with them.

Beautiful car. Awesome build

Super nice! I've got this same model. I'll get to it sometime!
Very cool!

Thank you! Yes, the red convertible came out great! It’s also one of the few with a body color shaker!
You did good 👍👍
Thank you!
thanks for the great video!
Glad you liked it!
Nice build of my personal favorite muscle car! Now just need to be Inviolet!
Thanks. My newest one was painted In-Violet!
Damn ❤
Thanks!
Nice!!
Thanks!
I saw the add in "Scale Auto" magazine
So did I. Back in the days when you mailed an envelope and asked for a catalog.
I have this and built it as the number 42 race car
Very cool!
mine came with a vacuum formed tail-light panel
Interesting.
The conversion kit is still the best way to build the car. The Monogram AAR kit was HORRIBLE !
Thanks. It came out nice. I think the newest kit from Revell is the best but not perfect.
Too bad Revell can't make a proper version of this car😢biggest fault is the real car had staggered size tires to get proper rake....even the newer issue has improper tires.....
The newest kit is nice but still has a few flaws.
they had to make 1500 street versions to be eligible
Yes, and they made more than they needed to.
