Wonderful shots and videos! Chongqing is a lovely city and has been developing so fast and so well in the recent year! Definitely worth a visit or even moving there!
I love the vibe of this one, kinda like a behind the scene video showing us what u guys passionate bout. Jack is defo giving out a different but very professional character while shooting. My 2nd favorite version of jack right after when he forgot about ' friends and family' 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Hahaha yeah he comes across well in this one he was very talkative considering he was concentrating a lot. Thanks a lot I’m pleased you enjoyed it, it was fun to show a more behind the scenes style!
Chongqing is a three-dimensional city with a lot of personality. Chongqing people are also very special. The photos taken by Jack capture this characteristic and have a strong taste of old China. It's worth savoring.
Brilliant work as usual guys! Oh man, @squarepegmedia has such a good eye for framing his photos. It's stunning! These videos are super helpful and totally a treat on the eyes for sure.
Awesome content! All those photos have the unique Chongqing feel. I particularly like that special tea house, it is something frozen in time. Glad they keep it like that.
How you set up the shot and utilize the lighting techniques was so cool to see. Seems you have to be quite patient to snap the perfect photograph. You two have a lot of patience because those photos are spectacular.
This is great content! Just curious about your post production workflow. Did you make your own preset in Lightroom (or a in a similar program)? I like the faded film look and the shadow gradation is velvety in your pictures.
Thanks a lot I’m pleased you liked it. Yes Jack has his own Lightroom presets which he made. We are thinking about developing some for sale but we haven’t had the time yet.
I just visited Chongqing the weekend just gone, and I loved it! I tried taking some street photography but am always worried that people will chase me away. How do you get such good close ups?
Everyone was very friendly in Chongqing. We asked a lot of people and waited until they felt comfortable with us. Everyone has cameras in China a lot of people returned the favour and took photos of us too. Most people are just curious and actually really nice about it. In some cities though I don’t know if people would be so welcoming.
Unusual subjects but the resulting photos are really atmospheric. A big shoutout to digital cameras for making photography so much easier and affordable. :D
Thanks for the tip! We decided to leave the camera bag at home this day and travel light as it had been a pretty heavy few days so we didn’t have any spare lenses.
how do the Chongqingers pronounce Chongqing? Who decides on the latin script version of town/city names? (Chongqing looks like it's oozing with multi-layered intricate character. I demand a video game set in Chongqin. Get onto it, Nintendo.)
The locals call it in sichuan dialect. I personally not verse in the dialect but my guess is something like jzhung-tcheeng. The latin version Chongqing is taken from the pinyin spelling.
he probably took hundreds if not thousands of pictures !!! really nice pictures 👍👍👍. in the old days, it would have costed a fortune to develop the films !!!! sidenote: kodak invented the digital camera in the 70s and then killed the idea !!!! just imagine, if kodak ran with the new invention, it could have made a fortune !!! instead, it went bankrupt !!! so sad. love from Canada.
Wow... Al dos lots of pics Wat 2 do wit it ? U knw if u kep up Fr China Dats giga pics later Hmm... . . . China studio ? . . China travel agen ? . . China in pics book ? . . China museum wk ? . . China wallpaper room ? . ?
I see Jack is carrying a nice Sony around.......back in my days we were lugging a Canon 5D with a heavy 35-300mm lens that weighted 23 lbs! China realized the importance of international news market, they are slowly getting foreigners on board. This was Roisin Timmins in a new China special : ua-cam.com/video/1_rCTxTSQn8/v-deo.html
Yes we have a Sony camera as it’s better for filming, photos are more of a second thought but it was nice to get a chance to spend the day taking them!
I like the building worker's heart-warming and artless smile!
They were so nice, everyone is very friendly in Chongqing.

I really love your videos about film making/photography. Love it when every bit of your movie is made of materials of your own. :)))

Awesome! I'm pleased you liked it I think we will do some more in this style soon!
It feels so 1970s, 80s, 90s for some reason. The bicycle era. Hard-working people. Each person a walking story.
A walking story, exactly! Then at night time the city changes into one of the most futuristic I’ve ever seen!
Great video as always
Thanks a lot!
Proper job you two! Good captures of the local poetics of Chong Qing. I love China. You do it proud. Thank you.
You guys definitely deserve way more viewers. This is amazing content.

I’ve not been to HK yet but I’ve heard people compare them!
@@Nicofilms Hopefully borders will reopen soon and we can all pop down to Hongkas for a trip!
@@Hazza_Harding Yeah I sure hope so! Jack went when we first arrived and I have been dying to go since!
One of Hongkong's most famous buildings is actually called Chongqing mansion. It appears in many Hongkong movies.
@@helendu5241 that’s true!! Thanks for reminding me

totally agree. I got chase away when I'm taking picture of people playing mahjong in the street in Shanghai.

Very good, nice magic 3D city.
Maybe you can visit Changsha, a real city that never sleeps, a vibrant city.
How did you guys know those amazing places?
We found a lot by walking around and also had some local help which always makes it easier!

Thanks for the tip! We decided to leave the camera bag at home this day and travel light as it had been a pretty heavy few days so we didn’t have any spare lenses.

Can I just ask, what is the coffee like in China?
Some local independent cafes are very good... but if you can’t find one, at least there are Starbucks everywhere in China...
Chongqing is similar to hong kong, dense and moutainous
Lovely video... As always
I’m pleased you liked it!
First yay
So fast! Hope you liked it!

Weird question but do they use squatty pottys everywhere there? What about in the big cities. I wanna go to China but that scares me.
Before you go, perhaps get a brain.
They use squatty toilet in public facilities, and use western toilet mostly in their home.
It's similar in Japan.
