@@tommytwotacos8106because it is, in fact, space. Territory can only be feasably established using stars as centerpoints for pre agreed spheres of influence. That naturally leaves openings. The federation is not actually a wall in space.
I remember my friends and I played a FASA STAR TREK RPG campaign in a trianglular shaped area between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. We called ourselves the "Triangle Concordat" LOL. Great memories. We started as Starfleet Intelligence and took on a life of it's own.
I wish they would release an official map of federation territory and the surrounding powers similar to battletech where they show accurate boarders of the existing powers. The maps out there are all different. I realize in battletech maps while covering a lot of territory represent a relatively small part of the galaxy compared to The federation and its surrounding powers. It would be nice to have something official.
@@Watcher1134 It's from the game Star Fleet battles. The Lyrans were relatively late in the game and were feared by Star Fleet. Also look at the Andromedans (Kelvans ) who had the deadliest ships in the game! I would love a Star Trek series about a war with them. Just imagine a huge alliance with them and all the other races, including what's left of the Krenim, the Borg (even they recognize the threat of the Andromedans) and Species 8472 (Undine)!
There could still be conflict over territory or resources, and the Tholians are very enigmatic, likely to come into conflict with humanoids for reasons other than purely practical ones
The Romulans were a spin off of the Vulcans apparently. There were the Organians and the Qs. I presume there are videos about them I will have to look at. I think John DeLancie will be at Dragoncon at the end of the month Dragoncon in Atlanta. Along with several other star Trek actors if anyone is interested in going. I was considering it but uh had to help out other family members so I no longer have the resources to go sadly. But just reminding you here in case you are interested. I have been to Dragoncon in the past and the team that runs it does a good job in my estimation. I am not affiliated with them just a fan like most people are. I really enjoyed the video first time here so I will subscribe.
I really think u should do books with non canon and canon disclaimers . And even comic series . No one does that … the great and unique to many of us trek fans is in that section of media . I hope u guys see this and agree
The Orions play both sides against each other. They are Federation members yet go their own way when it profits them to do so. You can't trust those damn green women.😂
I wish star trek had been more consistsnt in defining the quadrants. Voyager kept whining about getting to the alpha quadrant. Ds9 defined the whole war as alpha quadrant including cardassians and romulans. If the alpha beta quadrant border runs through the Sol system, then for half the year earth is in the beta quadrant.
Treating "Strange New Worlds" seriously is a mistake - it contradicts the classic Star Trek (for example Captain Kirk is the first Star Fleet commander to encounter the Gorn and live), and often just collapses into cartoon-like nonsense.
An actual star map would have to be in 3D. Its the only way the Klingons could war against the Cardassians without crossing into Federation territory.
Unless they travelled under cloak or betted that the Federation would not intervene even if they were detected
@@intrepidgamer7942your right.
This has bothered me about Star Trek since I was 9 years old. Why nobody has addressed the problem on the show before now absolutely baffles me.

The federation is not actually a wall in space.
If I remember correctly, the klingons did cut through federation space on their way to wage war on the Kardashians. Pre dominion war arc.
Yes, like to video for each of faction

I think the one by Michael Okuda has been accepted as the proper one but I'm not for sure.
You didn't mention The Shelliac Corporate based in the Beta Quadrant.
They'll feel left out.😂
They are actually in the alpha quadrant. Orangeriver has done a video on them complete with star charts.

I just came across this channel and have subscribed. I rarely sub after watching just one video but this one really did it for me.
What about the Orions? The Kzinti? They are at least minor powers.
The Patriarchy is the Kzinti
What about other cat species such as the Lyrans and a species called the Hydrans from Star Trek cartoons?
@@Tonydjjokerit Hydran rings a bell. I'll look up Lyran.
Didn't know that. I've been following trek for over 40 years and I'm still learning new stuff. Thanks for the info.

Children of Tama? Well done btw!!!
for example should not be any reason for coflicts between tholians and humanoid species, they live in different kind of planet useless for each others

You need to doublecheck your AI generated images before using them, as the AI constantly makes VERY obvious mistakes that are hugely distracting.
