Beautiful. Thx for your thorough explanations and I loved it that we got to meet your cat.

I am just plain hooked on your teachings and your character too. Went through a bunch of channels and learned nobody anywhere comes close to having your gifts and talents, at least for me. All week long I have neglected everything to watch your videos even eating and sleeping. At 67 this old dog has a sense of exuberance again just like athletics, dance, and doing (well you know what but I better not say) all of which I have had to curtail as I age. Am accumulating things I need.
    A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION?
When it comes to the tools I wonder what I will use most that I had better invest in ergonomic/ expensive tools as I am none to have a death grips on household tools and crochet needles. The cabs today are wonderful in their depth and complexity of colors. I just don't do Facebook and Instagram yet as I still value some privacy.

Yvonne, another project with beautiful colors! Casting with medium and large frit can be tricky for sure. You did a nice job as those look beautiful! A couple of things you might want to think about when you load your kiln that way (which I loved as it makes use of the whole thing!), is #1, Lower your temperature by perhaps 15 degrees and do your hold times five to 10 minutes longer. Increase your bubble squeeze hold (the longest sequence in the program) about 15 minutes. This allows the glass a little more time to expand and do it's thing and can reduce bubbles in the piece too. This may also help reduce the "scuzzy" which could be devitrification due to scorching. #2, Lower your top shelf IF possible about 1/4" to increase the distance between the heating element and the top shelf. #3, you may want to consider actually weighing your frit and cut glass to make sure it is right for the mold size you are using. This will also result in more even (thickness) pieces. I love your creations, they are gorgeous! Keep fusing! 😉👍💖

Beautiful work - a couple minor tips- vinegar soak will help getting fiber paper/zyp off the backs. Also, iirc, a light layer of clear on the bottom helps reduce sticking. Opal glass sticks and pulls fiber paper, etc more. Probably due to differences in viscosity if I had to guess. I’ve been fusing glass for 7-8 years now but there’s always something new to learn or try. And I’ve only had my own kiln for a few years so I’m still learning that part for sure :)

One thing I'd recommend is to not stack shelves in your type of kiln, only fire one layer at a time. Stacking shelves in a top-firing kiln interferes with the heat distribution in the kiln and creates uneven heating. Uneven heating creates stress in the glass, this can lead to the glass cracking. It might not happen immediately, it can happen after a few minutes, days or weeks later. Not a fun surprise for your customers. ;-)

Hi! It's a year later, have you tried it yet?
I just finally let myself learn about microwave oven fusing/kilns. Do you have a microwave no longer needed to cook food? Some of the kilns I saw are $35. I found this video very inspirational! Yvonne had a table full of beautiful gems that SHE was creating. Wasn't that awesome to see?
Let me end with your screen name, 'cause that's my message to you, though I don't have accurate fusing advice to give, but: You Can Create Too!!! :)

Oh my, those turned out really beautiful! I have a question: in one of my orders, you sent a small (approx. 10mm?) dark green dichroic cab as a gift. I'm interested in another one to make a pair of earrings. Maybe this was one of your "puddle cabs"? Anyway, any chance you might be making another one like it? I'd love to purchase one in order to have a matching set. Thank you so much for all you do!

Hi Yvonne! This was the video I've been wanting to see for some time now. Thank you! It would take too many words....you answered so many questions for me and showed me certain doors ARE open...this process can create the looks and feels I'm hoping to! (that blending of color and space)
Do you do anything to reduce or remove bubbles, if something can be done in this setup? I'm about to watch you wrap it...Thank you so much! I appreciate your manner very much as well. Be well! :)

Really cool. I just saw a listing of stained glass pieces nearby and wondered if it could be fused or if you have to know all the different properties of glass and all. But I’ve seen the microwave kilns and wanted to try it so bad.
So if you wanted to put a hole in the Cab to use it as a pendant, is there something you can place in it that won’t burn up?

Oh darn my lower post doesn't show my BURNING QUESTION? I often have a death grip on tools. Which tools do you think I would end up using the most so I can buy expensive ergonomic ones to lessen the pain in my hands. Also I have large hands for a woman. My Playtex gloves are a large. Should I buy the small ergo handled pliers or the larger way too expensive ones?
