A little Chaos Modeling PODD!

Happy End of Weekend Friends! Not too much exciting things happened around this house. Lots of Taxi Driving, Working hard on my e-workshops, Church and maybe a tiny bit of relaxation - very tiny!
I’d like to title this video “total chaos” 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m using three different ways to access PODD. Direct access with Harper’s early functions book, Auditory/Visual Partner Assisted Scanning with Angela’s 12 per page School Age book and then I’m also modeling a bit of the high tech PODD as I’m trying to give Harper more and more exposure to high tech. This video is long, but I just wanted to show what real life looks like!
The best thing about PODD is that this can happen! all different language levels, both high tech and lite tech books and we could even throw in some eyegaze if we wanted and we all understand each other!
I say this is total chaos because it’s pretty much reality. I really wanted to chat about the sensory lights but then Angela started getting angry and either refused or just had a difficult time telling me what the deal was.
It can be super hard to keep modeling when I personally feel flustered with the external stimulation around me. But, even though it hard, it really gives a beautiful example to the kids that communication matters and even when it’s hard and we are feeling uncomfortable we still need to keep ourselves open to talk to others and just as important - listen.
Actually this really applies to all of us not just AAC users. We all should always be willing to both share and listen. It’s so healing.
