I'm convinced no matter how well built the RV or how well planned the trip, something will go wrong. Working around those problems is part of the adventure. Many times my way around a problem has been better than the journey would have been without having to deal with something unseen, but not always. Glad to see your change in plans to a walk worked out well for you, it certainly made for some beautiful views to put on the vlog.
Where's Dougal's winter tartan coat to keep him warm on his walk! Wonderful Park, scenery amazing, old your only a pup., Happy New Year from Belfast Andrew.
Thanks Linda! If Dougal is running around like that he doesn't really need a coat. It's only if he's out on a sedate walk I put his coat on. I think it'll be making an appearance in later vlogs :)
Thanks for another lovely view of Scotland and cheering me up on an otherwise grey day daan sarf! I look forward to the notification each week that another vlog has been uploaded, and I enjoy watching you and Dougal with a cuppa. Especially as I don't get to see you at the depot anymore.
Aww, thanks Oor Clurr... I miss you guys! But it is nice to just be able to take off to Scotland for a whole month without the stress of trying to arrange the impossible :-/
Andrew Ditton oh yes I know exactly what you mean. Still always nice seeing you and Dougal. Enjoy Scotland and I am looking forward to episode 3 already.
I'm pretty sure Dougal was smiling behind you in the back of the van during that intro ... well that's another beautiful place you took us to... OMG nearly died laughing when you fell, maybe because you'd already made everyone dizzy by then and it was you or us... the shots of the forest are fabulous and I LOVE forests, the Dougal double hilarious especially when he was looking adoringly at you precisely like Dougal would... amazing videos... I thought it would be hard surpass the one in the Alps where you actually took us down the slope looking at the board but clearly some amazing gems in your travels and shot in such a way that we all get to experience it too...!
Hi Andrew, Yes indeed your cinematic production is flawless as always, light and breezy, in a forested setting, Dougal is as always the Star that he is in the out door adventure! Thank you Andrew!
Some people would say he's only a dog. The rest of us would say he's only a dog, so you have to take care of him. I think he enjoyed the walk with you more than a nap. Great shots and I loved that bicycle wheel bridge.
Andrew, what a beautiful park. Love seeing Dougal just out and about. Happy dog, happy owner. Glad you got to make the best of a worrisome situation. Cheers always.
What beautiful photography! The footpath really looks like my little town,,,,except we are under 5 feet of snow! You're so such a wonderful dog owner! I'm sure some might think you're overcautios, but don't listen to them,,,,Dougal is lucky to have you,,,,,and vise versa! Loving the Scottland views!
Welcome back to Scotland Andrew. Dumfries and Galloway is a beautiful place with a lot of hidden gems. The coast road from Dumfries to Ayrshire via Stranraer has some beautiful views whilst driving. Hope you get the leisure battery issue sorted soon. atb Andy.
Another truly wonderful vlog Andrew, your photography capturing the stunning light on those beautiful landscapes was fantastic. Your flexible plans really demonstrate what such a van journey is all about. Having survived a scorchingly windy 43C day here in south eastern Australia the drifts of snow were a welcome sight but unfamiliar with those driving conditions, it would be interesting to hear your comments on the important aspects to be aware of when driving a mottorhome on icy roads. Looking forward to a battery update and more of your Scotland adventure with Dougal.
Hi Liz... hmm, I'd rather -3 than 43C! As for the driving - well, I just treated every corner as if it were covered in black ice and drove accordingly, which seemed to work. A lot of the time I averaged about 15mph. But I would say that should be the same for everyone, not just motorhomes. If anything, it is easier in Scotland as there is less traffic around than in SE England so there is no pressure to go any faster than you feel comfortable.
Lovely video. Thanks for considering Dougal. He is so sweet. ..Wow, where you are, and that great walk, looks almost exactly like where I live in Oregon..except we have many more fir trees, and trees in general. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the next. :)
Great video Andrew. I think I should go and have a look about Dumfries and Galloway. The scenery looks beautiful'. I have been to a Skerryvore gig in Dumfries but didn't have time for sight seeing. Looking forward to the rest of the vlogs.
Really enjoying your trip Andrew, can’t wait to see Harris and Lewis in January. You’re well on the way to convincing me to buy a van, I still need to convince my wife though 😄
Dear Sir, your dog must think that you are rambling. It's true that talking without any other interlocutor than a camera is enough to drive this little dog crazy. It's a joke. I like your work. A French from Alpes and Italian border.
The bike rim tunnel/gate was pretty clever. Thanks for sharing your time. Dougal seems to like lounging on the bed while you drive...that goes in the “plus” column for the van.
Lovely video that's made me pine for Scotland even more: the last time I was there, there was no Skye bridge! I notice lots of mentions of the leisure battery, so I shan't dwell on that too much, but I'd certainly be interested to see what your findings are on that when it's checked over. P.S. Nice to hear a bit of Bach (or should that be Bark?!) underscoring the (stunning) footage of Dougal. It amused me, anyway!
Good man for putting Dougal’s welfare before your own plans. Turned out well as you might not have fitted in that lovely photography if you hadn’t been on foot! Great Vlog, I love the Scottish scenery. Looking forward to the next!!
My caravan is on the Isle of Wight on a seasonal pitch and does get of the island much 😥 But have been looking at this Caraboat looks like just what I need.. ua-cam.com/video/v223HkqHJbo/v-deo.html
Hi Andrew and Dougal Happy New Year :) What a beautiful landscape. Looks like you met Dougal's doppelganger in the forest. In NZ we're in the middle of our summer and it's about 25-27 C and very humid. I remember how cold Scotland can be but a walk in the cold can be more fun than in the heat of summer.
Another great video I was pleasantly surprised how nice it is round there, we took a detour round on the way back from Culzean last year I think you have a dream job Andrew driving a campervan round Scotland and videoing it My van needs a long run to charge the leisure battery so have to resort to hookup every so often I may get a solar panel one day
Andrew Ditton next time you're up in Scotland, try and visit the island of Bute. We visited the enormous country house Mount Stuart. Now that too was amazing. Your dog is so cute, no leathers this time Andrew.😞
Galloway is even more Beautiful this time of year. I would be checking with Sun Living about that battery. Should have some charge in it after all that driving.
I think something is not right with the van. The standard ducato alternator can produce around 160Amp so that battery should have been topped up in that hour long drive, even at night with lights, ac, chargers and what not on. I don't believe any solar panel would be of great help in Scotland this time of the year. Besides, that compressor fridge doesn't help either and the Truma combi is also a bit power hungry. If not on mains every night, the answer for a perfectly topped up battery would be to drive a few kilometers every day. I would suggest you contact Adria. Cheers.
I love that you love your dog and will change your plans to accommodate him. My house is up for sale and I hope to tour for a few years, I'm 72, spent the past 12 years tenting, up to to 7 months a year. Canada, New Zealand, Scotland and rest of UK. I am a recluse! I have had dogs all my life and not sure whether to get a little dog for company? I am aware the "return to home base" will not be available should I undertake this adventure. I am watching all your videos, learning much, thank you for posting Carol
So sorry you are having battery problems. Most unusual especially after so much driving. I hope Adria sort it out fast as I think one of the advantages of having a motorhome is that extra bit of freedom on the road and to rely so much less on hook up. But this is being spoilt for you and for us following your adventures ☹️..........beautiful scenery despite the technical hitch.
Thank you! Part of the adventure is finding a solution to the inevitable hiccups, and as it turned out on this particular day, I think we did better going for a walk rather than me going hell for leather on a mountain bike after a sedentary Christmas. We will keep going and keep you posted!
Thanks Steve, although the scenery shots were all done on the G7X as I had not yet had the chance to even take the Sony out of its box at this point! I've just done some low light stuff with it and... OH MY!!!! :)
Good point Rob - generally it doesn't worry me, and if it did, it shouldn't be too difficult to dampen it all down with tea towels and stuff. I've done my best to pack stuff to be as quiet as possible, but as you can here it doesn't always work!
Thank you for the very inspirational video for a cold winter weekend. Very beautiful and peaceful. When you commented about walking and getting older, I went back to your videos from 2010. The question must be asked: What youth-making secrets sustain you? You have retired from the rails but seem to have not missed a beat. Genetics? Diet? Dougal? Less Stress? Whatever the combination, it seems remaining active is key to having a quality life post full-time employment. Cheers.
Cheers Anthony! I have to admit, being a migraine sufferer has led me to a practically vegan and teetotal diet. I do stray now and again but the thought of three days of agony makes me stay on track! I also think having a dog and getting out walking every day in nature is one of the best things anyone can do. All the best.
I too was a migraine sufferer and lived with it for several years UNTIL I took a detailed look at my diet. Being mindful of calories consumed for years, I was shocked to realize artificial sweeteners were the cause. I removed them from my diet and have had zero migraine headaches since. Sadly, many things we consume and apply topically can be root causes to other symptoms.
Interesting! Although I also removed artificial sweeteners about 20 years ago. 'Sleep Hygiene' also seems to be massively important for me to stay well - something that didn't come with shift work! Glad you're all sorted now.
Hi Andrew, nice Video 👍🏼 i want to visit Scotland this year. Can you give me some recommendations? I‘m from Germany. Not sure if we want to drive the way up to Scotland with a rented Campervan or if we should rent one in Scotland. Thanks and Greetings 👍🏼
Hi Nina, well that will depend on what you want. Do you want to make something of the journey to Scotland, or just get there and then start your holiday? And it depends on prices as well I guess. I'll soon be launching my blog and in it will be some recommendations on Scotland. Have a great time!
I have two dogs and am off grid for the vast majority of the times I go away which includes winter. I am recently back from being away for 6 days all off grid over New Year up the North of Scotland where the temps were well below minus. I do not have my heating on (propex refillable autogas at fuel stations and very economical) overnight and yes it gets cold BUT for me and my dogs, I have two hot water bottles and a wee mini one that I put on the bed under the quilt in the evening and we are toasty warm. This obviously saves on the leisure battery. I have led lighting but also use my battery powered lights also so the leisure battery lasts a good while. But anyway,,,, keep the hot water bottle suggestion in mind,, !
Hi Andrew - so I assume this is an issue rather than normal behaviour .... I mean I keep hearing a few hours driving normally gets the leisure battery charged fine and dandy ... We are having x2 leisure batteries put in and the wiring for solar but not yet putting a panel on ... our heating is gas (underslung) so hopefully our 18 year old cat (and just a wee bit older than 18 year old wife) will be happy enough :) Hopefully picking the van up this time next week !!
Great video as always. Bright blue Scottish skies at the end of December - really stunning. The battery really doesn't seem to be loaded correctly otherwise it should have improved after nearly 1 hr drive. Does the van have 1 or 2 leisure batteries?
It only has one Jutta, I think this is part of the problem. And I may have let it get too low and therefore damaged it. So I will reserve judgement until it has been investigated and resolved.
I used to work with French colleagues for an Anglo-Belgo-French company!
Hello - it may be on this or one of the others that you show a 12v to three pin adapter that you charged your camera with - do you have the link where you bought the adapter please. Just catching up on your latest vlog and hubby went back a bit
Hi Andrew great vlog again. Sounds like there maybe a charge problem or , more likeley is tnat if the van has been stored before you got it or previously AND THE BATTERY WAS ALLOWED TO GO VERY LOW AND FOR A NUMBEROF DAYS OR EVEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS OR MORE then it may have become oxidized. This will exhibit as happy to be on charge, show a great level of charge when charged and just after, but as soon as you leave the mains hook up the power in the battery only seems to last a quater of thetime you would expect it to. EVEN IF YOU DIDNT USE MUCH ELECTRIC. Check also if the level goes down quickly even if you not using it at all. 2 solutions a specific conditioning battery charger - not always successful - or New Battery. Ps just had a thought? Youve not used your hair straighteners and thats whats flattened it. Lol. Soz
Dam! You said you'd never mention the hair straighteners! ;@) Guess who left his Milenco battery conditioner back in Kent? Will get it looked at by a Sun Living Service centre when we're passing and do work-arounds in the meantime. Cheers!
Brilliant, I had a try at night skies last week Colin and it's not as easy as I thought! But you're right, great low light performance and bonkers ISOs!
Oops, sounds as if whoever had the van before let the battery run down now can't hold or charge well. Hope not. Gorgeous scenery. Mind if I paint some of It? Have to ask, copyrights don't ya know. I'm pretty novice so probably won't be able to recognize it anyway😁😂😁
No worries Annette, as long as I can see after! Please drop me a message off my website or via Facebook or Twitter and I can send you an image if you like. x
Okay I’m working my way through the series of Scotland I MV you enjoy I just wanna get in the van and go places my wife is disabled and we just sit in doors is the law of the country there we’ve not seen I’ve said to her we just need to get out and go.Although she can’t move around a lot she just won’t be sat in the campervan motorhome enjoying the views she’s never been to Scotland so I’ve promised her lm going to take her Best wishes Colin
Yep your right if u can have 2 alternators think that would be a good idea also stop by the way if you go to Milky Way from my roof top praze an beeble you find my UA-cam channel I have a few videos there
Solar panels in Scotland ?? In winter??? Where on earth do you live??? Come on! Anyway I always carry a multi meter. The number of times it’s saved the day. It’s easy to check things out.
Hi Alan, Welcome Aboard! I've created a playlist here in date order, which starts off by explaining what we're doing: ua-cam.com/play/PL8A5_7NxNKJCVrvyKATffHL1X6OmqCZ4n.html
Hi Andrew great video we’re getting a van to do Scotland how many leisure Batteries do you have in your van or can you only have one just wondering as first thoughts looking from the outside maybe a good idea to have two but not sure whether or not that would work .? As I know nothing maybe you could run twin alternators. As I say I know Nothing
Hi Colin, if you watch the rest of this series you will see that the main issue I had was the fact that i had just the one battery. I maintain that if you want to spend any time off grid, you need two batteries.
Google Ian at “lonely spec. “ photographing the Milky Way. The camera u have is really great as I said ..sturdy tripod then muck around with iso relative to exposure ... should be able to use exposure of 30 seconds then muck around with iso u could go other way faster exposure and hype up the iso for fun results
Cheers Anthony. I would have hoped that the engine would have charged the battery on the 7 hour drive up from London. I think there is a wiring fault somewhere. BTW - just finished your BRILLIANT book - I am in awe!
I agree with Anthony (I like your videos, as well, Anthony) and would NOT leave a dog alone in a vehicle, especially in dramatically hot or cold weather conditions; Dougal's not just an animal, he's your family. The camera work from Dougal's perspective and choice of music really caught the moment, and made me feel like I was watching Dougal's story of exploration and a nice walk through the park. Your videos help me to unwind while learning something new and I appreciate the time and effort you put into producing and then sharing these with people like myself, from another part of the world.
Not sure it would have made too much difference in the Scottish winter, Christopher - I'm thinking it's a problem with the split relay off the alternator.
Quote by you: "Dougal and I end up enjoying a lovely walk, and then a drive through the delightful country of Dumfries and Galloway on a crisp DECEMBER day." It's now the the 7th of Jan. I think you know the problem with the battery by now, surly you've had it inspected and resolved. You're keeping us all in suspense. :-) I'll just have to TUUUUUNE IN next time to find out. Are you running with all weather tyres? I imagine the further north you go the more you'll see of the frost and snow.
Yep, there is the 'editing lag' between filming and broadcasting, which I'm afraid will get longer as we get into the series. But the date is stamped on the title card at the beginning. It's 7th Jan and I'm still in suspense myself about the battery...
Why on earth is going on ADRIA you produce a van called "SUN LIVING" & you don't fit a SOLAR panel..Not impressed obviously the alternator relay has packed up or the battery is cheap or both. Could you not support Made in Britain rather than imported from Slovenia. This van retails for over £40k ! without all the extras you need like solar and door fly screens..
Obviously until I get it looked at I don't want to pass any judgement on what might have caused it... It looks like a solar panel would certainly have helped, but also a second battery would have been a good idea too. The benefit of hindsight... but hopefully my mistakes will help others not make the same mistakes. As for supporting British Manufacturers... actually, it's the other way around. Adria is supporting these vlogs. I am open to working with all manufacturers as long as I can be honest and open at all times. At a recent NEC show I was laughed off the stand by a very large UK manufacturer when I approached them to work with them. I was told in a very patronising manner: 'Well, if we need one man and his dog we'll let you know, but I don't think that'll be any time soon.' I was so humiliated. The fact remains, Adria allows me to retain my integrity and be completely honest and open for the good folk who watch and support what I do, and they take it on the chin when I find faults and niggles they'd rather I didn't find. I do look forward to working with UK manufacturers who will allow me to present the whole picture and not just the rose-tinted version. Cheers!
Well done I do recall you mentioning being humiliated at the show when we met you. The Caravan and Motorhome Companies need to start listening to us all as this is a growing part of the UK manufacturing and holidays in the UK. I intend to do an up front and very honest review of my new Van in July this year. J&P
Mate we live in a global economy, there is no guarantee a UK based manufacturer would sponsor these videos and even if there were; it's unlikely that the van itself (or indeed the majority of its components) and actually produced in the UK. I'm not defending the lack of solar panels (even on a modestly priced van) but at the end of the day it's all about value for your money, not where the vehicle is designed/produced, imo.
Thank you for your comments Andrew, I'm Mcips chartered and been following the leisure industry for 3 years post retirement with a view to procuring a motorhome next year, and going round Europe. To be honest I have failed to master the market place and find a new quality motorhome for our retirement. I will probably end up purchasing an older van around 50k. I like the small Chausson units...clever quality compact I can't find a new quality motorhome for 3 reasons. 1 Supply and Demand has meant new unit cost prices have risen 36% in the last three years. 2 Product standardisation and rationalisation means products offer reduced quality, lower cost lighter materials but carry a premium cost for marketing. 3 This being the case I'm seriously concerned about procuring a unit that suffers from water ingress and being caught between Dealer and Manufacturer I'm not surprised at the uk manufacturers comment because of the 3 points above but mainly the quality of workmanship is atrocious on most new units. Manufacturers have a lot to keep quiet about..No wonder you own a quality airstream. Adria do go the extra mile having been actively marketing to break into the UK market. You may be interested to know I follow a few bloggers in the UK GOLF world 3 of them have 250,000 plus subscribers..Andrew they are all sent new products for testing by all manufacturers ....One of them, Mark Crossfield, has just been dropped by one of the 4 major market manufacturers. If I was you I wouldn't be drawn down the Andrew Ditton oh he's an "Adria caravan club man route" Your a smashing bloke I feel awful if I have been an arse which I may have been or said something upsetting. But be careful when you enter the commercial sector it's easy to get sucked in... Remember when you look down at your food and you haven't paid for it .. there's never such thing as a free meal.. The Wardens Elddis couple Trudgian. Bailey man Dougal. Adria dog and Caravan Club From what I have picked up from the Golf World vloggers who are big! they have become a threat to certain companies dropped like a piece of lead. They then look for sponsorship from others to make up the shortfall. But still try to maintain there independence.? There finding the new world hard. So Golf vloggers tend to give light reviews and love everything, but when they get big, they are learning it's an intangible existence between subscribers and manufacturers. Any way from a subscriber's prospective "your our favourite" x Be careful mate keep it light, which you do. But remember from an MCIPS prospective when you've tasted the free meal your not quite so independent. Anyway I bet Dougals missing his bike rides, loved those videos as did my wife...Happy New Year looking forward to seeing if you have more freedom in the van as apposed to towing . And also whether you feel that the van conversation is easier to get about in than the more conventional motorhome which is wider taller . Loving the videos it would cost Adria a fortune to employ some one to do what your doing, there very lucky to have some one doing this for them, we respect you Andrew, we know you will tell all the good and the bad as this is what we need to know. Most reviews are better though when one is compared to another, however it will be great to see the flexibility the Adria van affords..Big thanks to Dougal .. regards James
I would think so Ken. But I need to get it checked out by an Adria agent and a full diagnosis. It could even be a loose connection or something very small and simple. We'll see.
I'm convinced no matter how well built the RV or how well planned the trip, something will go wrong. Working around those problems is part of the adventure. Many times my way around a problem has been better than the journey would have been without having to deal with something unseen, but not always. Yep, my thoughts entirely!
Where's Dougal's winter tartan coat to keep him warm on his walk! Wonderful

i realize I am kind of randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch new series online ?
@Johnathan Harley I watch on Flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
I often find time spent with my dog is more fun anyhow, dogs have such an infectious brand of joy! Look at Dougall’s bright happy face!
Thank you Andrew, love your little dog ,always nice to have a 4legged companion,
Thanks for another lovely view of Scotland and cheering me up on an otherwise grey day daan sarf! I look forward to the notification each week that another vlog has been uploaded, and I enjoy watching you and Dougal with a cuppa. Especially as I don't get to see you at the depot anymore.

Thank YOU as ever, Bob!
Some people would say he's only a dog. The rest of us would say he's only a dog, so you have to take care of him. I think he enjoyed the walk with you more than a nap. Great shots and I loved that bicycle wheel bridge.
Absolutely stunning landscape. My kind of roadtrip. So glad you didn't leave Dougal in the camper.
Another great video. The scenery is amazing, but the view at 8:33 was beyond any words. Wow to the wowest!!!
Thanks Kathe!
Another fantastic vlog Andrew. Thanks so much. I’ve added the kirroughtree to my list of places to visit. Our dog will love it.
Love the walk and the photo ops, i can take that off my bucket list! :-)
Lovely! Thanks for the work you put in. The music was perfect, and I appreciate your editing and choice of images.
Aww, thanks Patricia, that really means a lot :)
Another great vlog Andrew. I’ve added kirroughtree to our list of places to visit. Our dog will love it.
Always love how you play catch with dougal. He is a very good dog.
Thank you. I enjoyed the walk, and your music choices. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself or your camera during your post-twirl fall.
Thanks Roxanne!
Andrew, what a beautiful park. Love seeing Dougal just out and about. Happy dog, happy owner. Glad you got to make the best of a worrisome situation. Cheers always.
Absolutely Julie, these things always have a habit of turning out for the best if you just go with it! :)
Great video. And good on you for not leaving Dougal in the cold van
Wonderful..loved seeing your walk and nice to see Dougal so cheerful.
scotland I love you ! keep them coming Andrew. It keeps me focused on getting back up there haha.
Keep the faith Kelly! xxx
Fantastic views and great video
Beautiful Mr. D. Your vlogs are always presented just right. Just let the scenery do the speak for itself.
Aww, thanks Teresa!
What beautiful photography! The footpath really looks like my little town,,,,except we are under 5 feet of snow! You're so such a wonderful dog owner! thanks Andrew what stunning scenery cant wait for the time we can tour Scotland with caravan in tow, great vlog as usual.
I'm sure you can't wait, Colin. You'll love it!
Heehee! “Dougal, you’ve changed.”

Bonnie Bonnie Scotland! Loved the video Andrew x
Great video Andrew. I think I should go and have a look about Dumfries and Galloway. The scenery looks beautiful'. I have been to a Skerryvore gig in Dumfries but didn't have time for sight seeing. Looking forward to the rest of the vlogs.
Thanks Lorna! I think you might like the next 2 vlogs... and I think you can already guess why :@)
Really enjoying your trip Andrew, can’t wait to see Harris and Lewis in January.
You’re well on the way to convincing me to buy a van, I still need to convince my wife though 😄
Hopefully if you show her the vlogs that will help, Mark! Cheers!
We are so lucky in the UK to live with such beauitful places to go see!
Amen to that, Alice!
Another great video Andrew.... love your falling over stunt work, done that myself a few times lol.
Cheers A!
Cool, isn't it? Yes, Dougal likes it on the bed, especially if I give him pillows to snuggle up to :)
Lovely video that's made me pine for Scotland even more: the last time I was there, there was no Skye bridge! I notice lots of mentions of the leisure battery, so I shan't dwell on that too much, but I'd certainly be interested to see what your findings are on that when it's checked over.

Thank you! Yes, it all worked out for the best, that's for sure!
Fantastic views on that walk
Beautiful scenery very jealous ..
It's there for everyone my friend! :)
My caravan is on the Isle of Wight on a seasonal pitch and does get of the island much 😥

What incredible beauty! Dougal loves the walks off the leash doesn't he! The dizzy spins are fun aren't they!
Funny till you fall over that is... ;@)
I laugh because that's something I would do!
I’m just glad you didn’t impale yourself on a branch in the process.
I agree with you there Irene! I do miss NZ though... I think I'll have to find an excuse to visit again soon.
Another great video
I was pleasantly surprised how nice it is round there, we took a detour round on the way back from Culzean last year
I think you have a dream job Andrew driving a campervan round Scotland and videoing it
My van needs a long run to charge the leisure battery so have to resort to hookup every so often I may get a solar panel one day
Cheers Steve! There is a lot of love for solar panels in the comments to this video so it would seem like a worthwhile upgrade to make.
At around 8.00 mins I was thinking that would make me dizzy and down you went ;-)
Ha ha! Yep, not as resilient as I thought I am :)
Very well shot Sir. The views were really awesome. Some unplanned things are better than planned. J&P
Thanks J&P, yep, you've just got to go with the flow.
Awesome- thank you. We loved the walk you did. Hope the battery gets sorted out. 😊
Thanks Lynn!
My husband and I stayed at Dumfries House , the one with all that original furniture that was saved by Prince Charles. It was amazing .
WOW! Jealous! :)
Andrew Ditton next time you're up in Scotland, try and visit the island of Bute. We visited the enormous country house Mount Stuart. Now that too was amazing. Your dog is so cute, no leathers this time Andrew.😞
I have some days off to use in March and April. I am hoping to drive up to Scotland. Thank you for the preview of parts of the region!
Thanks! Yes, don't skip Dumfries and Galloway on your trip!
Hope you get the battery issues fixed Andrew , Great vlog as usual , Safe and Happy Travels :-)
Thanks Dave!
Another. Great vlog Andrew. Kirroughtree now on my too do list ☺
Cheers Willie!
Great video, I love Scottish scenery. Hopeful to be there myself in March. I hope you get the battery issue sorted quickly. Good luck ☺️
Cheers Andy!
Galloway is even more Beautiful this time of year. I would be checking with Sun Living about that battery. Should have some charge in it after all that driving.
Exactly Bob. I'm thinking a problem with the split relay off the alternator, and will get it check out soon.
Great series of videos
Glad you were not hurt but the spinning followed by the falling was funny. I dont even look left and right fast these days
Ha ha! Yes, it was a soft landing fortunately Cliff.
Cheers.
Cheers Carlos, it's due to be looked at next week and I will keep everyone posted.
I am watching all your videos, learning much, thank you for posting
Carol
Beautiful scenery. The motor home experience suits you. Seems you are more mobile. Be interesting to see/hear your thoughts after a month touring.
Cheers Gary. Definitely pros and cons to van vs caravan!
truly wonderful vlog Andrew anymore drone shots on this trip
Hi Ray, stay tuned.... the drone soon takes to the skies! :)
Hi thanks for spending the time uploading.
Interested in finding out with you travelling and living off grid what you do as a day job
Hi Steve, this IS my living! I intend to do a vlog about this in the Spring.
beautiful!
Love your travels of you two. 😊🙏🐕🚐👍☀️🌟🌍
Cheers Darren, glad to have you coming with us! :)
Andrew Ditton 😊🚐👍🐕🙏🌍🌟
Did i see Dougal in the background with a spanner in his paw doing a good job of keeping a straight face.🔧🐕😄😄😄
He is indeed the Grommit to my Wallace ;@)
Thanks for the video. I too am glad that you didn’t ride that bicycle, great winter scenes.
Cheers John!
Must get down there sometime... I am a Galloway afterall!!! Stunning scenery. Thanks for sharing :)
You must, Janice, you must! It's got your name all over it! ;@)
Andrew Ditton Ha ha....that's for sure :)
Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.
Some nice camera work there - that Sony must be working out well for ya! :-)
Thanks Steve, although the scenery shots were all done on the G7X as I had not yet had the chance to even take the Sony out of its box at this point! I've just done some low light stuff with it and... OH MY!!!! :)
Great video, love these type of vlogs.
Cheers Mark!
Seems repetitive but another great video a with tasteful sound. Hope is sort battery issue.
Cheers Carl!
Awesome scenery! Need to get up there at some point! On a side note, doesn’t rattling of pots n pans drive you mad when you’re on the road?
Have fun😊
Hi Andrew,
nice Video 👍🏼 i want to visit Scotland this year.
I definitely need a couple of hot water bottles! Cheers :)
Woo-hoo! Nearly van time! :) You're right, I don't think this is correct. Once we get the van looked at I'll let folks know what the issue is.
Beautifull vidéo ☺ thanks Andrew ☺ Gaëtan
Merci à toi, Gaëtan.
You seem to speak good french ? 😉
I used to work with French colleagues for an Anglo-Belgo-French company!
Hello - it may be on this or one of the others that you show a 12v to three pin adapter that you charged your camera with - do you have the link where you bought the adapter please. Just catching up on your latest vlog and hubby went back a bit
Did you get the charging fixed?
Really enjoying your vlogs
Thanks Christopher! We're booked in for next week to get the charging looked at. Have been 'working around' it in the meantime.
Cheers!
Great video! What is the name of that beloved string music called Andrew?
I can't tell you without retrieving the editing job from an archive, but it will be free of charge to download at UA-cam's Creator Suite. Cheers!
By the way the camera you bought brilliant maybe get some Milky Way shots
I hope you manage to take your wife there Colin.
Andrew Ditton hi Andrew thanx for taking the time to reply top man
Yep your right if u can have 2 alternators think that would be a good idea also stop by the way if you go to Milky Way from my roof top praze an beeble you find my UA-cam channel I have a few videos there
Solar panels in Scotland ?? In winter??? Where on earth do you live??? Come on! Anyway I always carry a multi meter. The number of times it’s saved the day. It’s easy to check things out.
Hi I'm new subscriber to your channel, lovely but how did you end up getting a motorhomes and not the caravan ?
Enjoy the rest and time away
Sounds like a your missing a good roof mounted solar system...
I'm thinking it's a problem with the split relay off the alternator - a solar system would be of very limited use in the Scottish Winter! Cheers Troy.
I'll tale a look, cheers!
lovely video. thank you. music from 08:05 please? beautiful track.
Hi, unfortunately I don't have access to the original file for a while. It is from the UA-cam Audio Library. Sorry I can't be more help.
@@andrewjditton no worries. thanks andrew.
Hey, I'd never leave my pup, either. Are solar panels/alt energy generation a possibility for future things like this? Great video, as always.
Does the Sunliving have a split charger...driving 7 hours must have charged the leasure batt?
It later transpired to have a fault on that van :-/
Am often rescued by my solar panel when off grid. Would that have helped on this trip with very cold December weather draining the leisure battery?
KillaH post! Fanks v mooooch
When I Will be a retired I would like to be with you😊
Why on earth is going on ADRIA you produce a van called "SUN LIVING" & you don't fit a SOLAR panel..Not impressed obviously the alternator relay has packed up or the battery is cheap or both.
Cheers!
One man and his dog... what a awful thing for them to say. You've got a lot of subscribers and a lot of people listening to you. That's valuable.
I like the small Chausson units...clever quality compact
I can't find a new quality motorhome for 3 reasons.
1 Supply and Demand has meant new unit cost prices have risen 36% in the last three years.
2 Product standardisation and rationalisation means products offer reduced quality, lower cost lighter materials but carry a premium cost for marketing.
3 This being the case I'm seriously concerned about procuring a unit that suffers from water ingress and being caught between Dealer and Manufacturer
I'm not surprised at the uk manufacturers comment because of the 3 points above but mainly the quality of workmanship is atrocious on most new units.
The Wardens Elddis couple
Trudgian. Bailey man
Dougal. Adria dog and Caravan Club
From what I have picked up from the Golf World vloggers who are big! they have become a threat to certain companies dropped like a piece of lead.
Oopps just read the intro! your trip was in December.. What was the problem anyway?
Don't know yet Derek - we are working around the problem till we get to an agent to sort it.
Best guess would be a fault in the split charge relay. ??
I would think so Ken. But I need to get it checked out by an Adria agent and a full diagnosis. It could even be a loose connection or something very small and simple. We'll see.
What power's the battery that was low? Not good! Have you managed to get a charge yet?... hope so buddy...
