Nemophila is pure 🔥🔥🔥. They play a variety of styles and excel at all of them. Mayu is an incredibly versatile vocalist. I recommend you check out Dissension (Japanese mv), Adabana, or their newest song Rise. These ladies always deliver.
Nemophila is a band formed by musicians from different bands. They are all excellent musicians. They can do whatever genre they want, mayu has a rich voice to sing many kinds of music, and they do many different styles in their music. 《rise》《adabana》&《dissension》would be a good choice for the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
During covid they did quite a few covers as well. If you like Maximum the Hormone, they did 2 of their tracks. (Tamu took up drumming because of the drummer of Maximum the Hormone) But their own work is so extremely good, I haven't found any of their songs that I didn't like. Favorites: Adabana, Zen (no music video), Raitei, ... Enjoy your stay
What's great about this band is that they came together naturally. No corporate control, independent, and do what they want when they want. They were all from other bands/projects and some were established already prior to this. Guitarist Saki (also was in Mary's Blood) has her own signature Killer guitar (KG-Fascinator Seven the Empress) and Hazuki is signed with Ibanez(she used ESP before). Drummer Tamu is sponsored by Tama. During the Coronavirus Apocalypse of the Bizarro World and drummer Tamu first pregnancy (she has 2 daughters now) they did many covers on UA-cam to get their name out Enjoy your journey.. (They did a Journey cover too lol) 😁🤘🏻 🎶
I love Nemophila an absolutely amazing band, I just saw them Sunday in Dallas, Tx. and they sounded great and put on a fun show. Perfection!! I got to even say hello to them when they arrived at the club and they are all around 5’0 tall and very beautiful!! I definitely recommend seeing them live if you get the chance.
If you like long trade of guitar solos that also harmonize after the solos like Iron maiden and Judas Priest you are going to love Lovebites Midori and Miyako (M&M)
Hi Chris and Sam! Nemophila just finished their US Tour, March 20, 2023. If you like their videos, you'll be totally blown away by their live performances! I saw them at Echoplex in LA on March 9th and again at the Scout Bar in Houston on March 14th! No other band that I've heard in the past 39 years comes anywhere near them! You really need to see these ladies perform live!
The Lady's just concluded an eight city US tour. I didn't get to see them cuz I live in the middle of nowhere.......but I will !! 😢 Try " Adabana. " 😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
For a Japanese band that sings in english try Lovebites they were inspired by Iron Maiden and other metal bands of the 80's. the Guitarists Midori and Miyako can stand against any male guitarist.
My favorite band right now. They kick ass. Just saw them in Texas this past weekend. All amazing talented musicians. All their songs are awesome along with a number of covers they did during covid. From AC/DC to Iron Maiden . Which I got to see them perform the instrumental to The Trooper when they played live. They are even more kick ass live. Not many official live footage out there accept phone cams which are most the time crappy sounding. But their are some good ones too. Try Oiran live the official one which give you a sense of how they are live plus that was their fist song they recorded together and is usually the show closer. Other songs to try are RAITEI ,Dissension, Revive,Adabana, Zen (no MV to that one) and their latest which is Rise. There are also many more.Nemophila is for sure a rabbit hole you should travel down. You two will love them.
I believe the comment about "keeping metal alive in Japan" was meant to refer to Japan keeping metal alive better than the rest of the world, not to keeping the Japanese metal scene alive. There is a saying going around: "metal hasn't died, it has just moved to Japan."
Great reaction! Now if you want to get your ear drums traumatized in a good way by another awesome japanese band try LOVEBITES / Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down) [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO] Batshit crazy stuff guys, but be prepared these ladies are lethal! Peace
Keep doing it guys, that's all it is about : Musicians watching other musicians, with open mind and perhaps getting inspired by it ! They are touring right now in the US, being in NYC soon I think (not sure, but other people will let you know no doubt).🤘🤘 Cheers from Paris, France !
J-Metal is a great rabbit hole to dive into. I've been a metal head for over 30 years, and have been mostly listening to J-Metal for the past 10 years. You mentioned knowing MTH and Band-Maid, which are two of my favorite bands as well, and I was wondering if you guys know the band Unlucky Morpheus. If not, you could be in for a treat and a blown mind. 😁 Since you are musicians yourselves, I recommend you check out the song Cadaver Revadac + sheet music
Hey you guys!! think you are ready to taste the band of girls, heavy metal, from Japan, called LOVEBITES. The live videos of them are simply the most. The more recent work of them date of feb this year, with two studio videos, Judgment Day and Stand and deliver From the live videos you can start with thunder vengeance.
Everysong they have is great. They are formed of women from other successful bands, which is why they were able to start with great songs. Interesting for them is covers. On their youtube are many covers, Babymetal (apparently they are big fans of babymetal) Kiss, Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters, Motley Crue and more. Just like their own songs these covers are all worth watching
Nemophila is an awesome band. But you've not seen anything until you check out Lovebites. I think they're the best metal band from Japan and elsewhere. And I've been listening to metal for over 50 years!
*Nemophila* covers are fantastic (except their Bon Jovi cover - skip that one). Their new single *Rise* is heavier than *Revive* and *IS NOT ON THEIR CURRENT ALBUM "Seize the Fate".* Songs on *Seize the Fate* album has very little *"screaming"* since lead singer Mayu was pregnant (she got married January 2022) when she recorded the album. But *Rise* is a return to her *"screaming".*
Hi Kevin! I happen to like their Bon Jovi cover as well. Have you heard their Foo Fighters cover released today, March 24, 2023? ua-cam.com/video/qqxqEcRUj14/v-deo.html
If you like guitars try checking out Naon Yaon, which is a all female guitarist festival in Japan.... All the best guitarists that you've seen on all these all girl japanese bands have probably played on it... Tamu, the drummer of Nemophila is a regular drummer for the event. Try starting with 2017.
You wouldn't be doing the J-metal rabbit hole justice if you don't do LOVEBITES. Influenced by 80s metal / NWOBHM. Recommend Holy War live 2020 ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html. This will give you a feel for them and their influences. Probably the most popular 1st time reaction video. The talent of this band is staggering! 🤘
If you guys want Japanese metal… you have to react to Lovebites… they are the goddess of heavy metal… I recommend “ Set the World on Fire “ live from Ride for Vengeance Tour…
Nice reaction. Reacting to Lovebites is a natural next step. I would also recommend Band-Maid. They're not J-Metal, but more J-rock with metal influences, but worth a listen.
Chris (the guy on the left) mentioned that they probably won't react to Band-Maid until they release something new, since he is already a Band-Maid fan and already knows the songs they've released up til now. It would still be fun to see the others react to them, though!
Literally my favorite metal band in the world right now, and probably my favorite band in any genre. They are great in the studio...and even better live. Lots of other bands in this niche (that is, the female end of J-metal), too. Other commenters have mentioned Lovebites, and they're brilliant, too. Recent release "Judgement Day" simply raised the global bar for powermetal...it's that good. Some others you might like: Hagane (in lineup flux right now, but guitarist Sakura Yoshida is a generational talent; try "BlackCult" or "Super Vilan"), Saiseiga (coed band, check out "Jumble" or "Hanabi"), Hanabie (not to be confused with the previous song title: "hanabi" means "fireworks," "hanabie" means "cold flowers." Hanabie are harajukucore insanity...start with "We Love Sweets" and prepare to be gobsmacked), hard rockers TRiDENT, Doll$Boxx (prog/metal/funk/pop mashup that works), brilliant symphonic metallers Unlucky Morpheus (co-ed band with insane chops, insane vocals, and a concert-quality classical violinist in the mix), The SheGlapes, Moth in Lilac, RagDollz, Full Moon, and the list goes on and on.
If you like that, you are going to love Saiseiga. They are a newer band so almost nobody knows about them, but those that do know, LOVE them. "Jumble" ua-cam.com/video/2RhYV7adc7U/v-deo.html

I saw them in Dallas and spent the concert on the Saki side of the stage about 5 feet from her. Needless to say, I enjoyed it very much.
You are getting close to react to japan's holy metal/hard rock trinity, Nemophila is one of them, now you must react to Lovebites and Band Maid too.
For a Japanese band that sings in english try Lovebites they were inspired by Iron Maiden and other metal bands of the 80's. the Guitarists Midori and Miyako can stand against any male guitarist.

Have you listened to lovebites? highly recommended
Chris, how much of Band-Maid's material do you already know? They have released a couple new songs since the Unleash EP came out last year.
I believe the comment about "keeping metal alive in Japan" was meant to refer to Japan keeping metal alive better than the rest of the world, not to keeping the Japanese metal scene alive. There is a saying going around: "metal hasn't died, it has just moved to Japan."
100% agreed
Yep 100% too. Heavy, hard , talented and served with a smile and NOT singing about death, devil, or drugs.
FistBump to that, you nailed it
Welcome to the party... ENJOY...
BTW, Nemophila just finished their first USA tour last Monday in NYC.

React to The Warning from Mexico. They are a 3-piece of sisters who rock. Start with any live performance from Teatro Metropolitan.
Love Nemophila. You've got to check out Lovebites next. Either of their latest 2 videos, Judgement Day or Stand & Deliver, would be awesome.
Yes, the overall level of musicianship in Japan is very high, because all kids study instruments in school.

Nemophila...Dissension !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More Nemophila, just to start: "Dissension" is harder than this song. DON'T do the U.S. version. "Adabana" was the best song of '22, in my opinion.
I'll say the US version is good... unless you have already seen the original.
@@Ephem13 Yes. But I think the US video version pales in comparison to the original video.
