As someone who reads both manga and American comics, the Berserk Deluxe editions are definitely my preferred reading type. That artwork size (not necessarily book width, but page size) is considered standard for American comics, if you want to see what a big book actually is look up the Final Crisis omnibus. After reading American omnibuses, I have the strength to casually twirl the Berserk Deluxe editions on my finger.
I bought the death note 12 in 1 might be hard as hell to read but it was 27 bucks for 12 volumes and that by itself made me more happy than rereading deathnote
Where do you buy your manga? I also live in Scandinavia (Denmark) and it’s extremely hard to find most manga I want and especially for a price under like 20 euros per single volume Amazing vid btw
@@iliveinsideyourwalls1119 I’ve already looked there a bit and yeah they have free shipping which is nice, but from what I saw most volumes were still about 20 euro):
Yeah, I get mine from Book Depository as well. Their prices are based on your location, so if you use a VPN, you can get some pretty good deals by checking different countries (since they have free international shipping, this doesn't affect your cost). From my experience, UK and Ireland usually have the best prices, along with some East-Asian countries like Malaysia and Hong Kong
You know, I think the reason why shonen mangas are so tiny is because they are being marketed towards kids and teens, who are generally smaller lol, I mean "shonen" quite literally means "young boys" in japan
Kinda felt like you overdid it with the Berserk size. I have read Vol. 1 of Berserk Edition, it's the perfect size with how big it is. It's heavy in a backpack but when I'm actually reading it's perfect.
Tbf, I think I overdid it with pretty much everything in this video; that's kinda just how I do things. Like I mentioned, the oversized art is honestly perfect for somthing like Berserk, and I'll take the deluxe editions over the singles any day
@@Evangaard The Dai Dark volumes are really good quality! The page quality and texture of the covers is great, just a shame about the small format but overall it's good
Dark horse singles like gantz and berserk is actually smaller than a standard viz volume. And yet the gantz singles are $13 and berserk singles are $15. Not sure why that is, and this is exactly why i like the standard viz volumes as they are the cheapest manga but they aren't bad. The singles that are in a bit larger format like fire punch, tokyo ghoul, grand blue, etc are 3 dollars more but all that changes is the size. Is it really worth paying quite a bit more for a big in a larger format? Imagine collecting longer series like the big 3 in that format. Also, i think when viz does omnibuses, they actually increase the size of the books. Sorta like the AOT omnibuses. But not exactly sure on that since i don't own them. But the death note ones are bigger but that's kinda a specialized edition more so than an omnibus.
I completely disagree with you. Shonen jump size is the best. Look at manga in france and japan they are like seven seas even smaller than japan. im just saying i like small stuff
Sorry to hear that. That really sucks. There is another comment thread on this video where we talk about options for buying manga internationally. Might help you out if you want to find english volumes. As for Spanish, I'm afraid I can't be of much help
12 in 1 Death Note makes me mad every time I see it, I see red.
We have some very similar feelings about this! Love the passion with which you make videos!!

hey! the i am a hero omnibuses aren’t that bad smh smh
Yeah, they're two-in-ones, so they aren't as bad as the others. I still don't like the size, though

Surprised you didn't talk about seven sea's books those are even smaller than shonens
I actually don't think I have any Seven Seas singles. I do want to get Dai Dark, though, so I might have a strong opinion on it soon

the smallest size for german volumes is 12,5cm by 18cm and there's a publisher that makes volumes only in that size
The smallest in my country is 11.3 17.6
What about seven seas entertainment mangas?
yay manga
