I worked on one of these om642 engines and like you have there there was oil in the turbo but turbo wasn't gone pcv filter was gone but also the timing chain had stretched and valves seals in the right-side head were leaking into the exhaust and sending it back into the turbo Turbo wasn't gone A simple check of the timing marks identified the problem so not all oil in the turbo means the turbo is gone Anyway keep up the good work you do 👍👍👍
Hi Not always the turbo The crankcase ventalation seal may be faulty , This is normally the main cause of leaking of oil into the turbo ,Not always the turbo seals themselves and is very apparent when rebuilding a lot of turbos on the OM 642 . Good diagnostic work Keep up the good work
I’m watching all your videos. I like what you’re doing and you do it very well. And how you explain everything but we would like to see as well Matt. In your videos.
Super ,nice job ,,, how much does the turbo cost ? for that sprinter I have a 2014 sprinter van ,, Would the oil lick from the turbo made the damage of the gold plugs # 4
3wire sensor on signal wire should read 5v unplugged. 5pwr-5sig-0gnd. Mybe you did not have contact when you tested. You could not have dpf clogged code, because how would the ecu know that it is full, if it does not see the pressure? If it really has bad dpf sensor, that constantly reads 0, it would throw backpressure too low/performance code. Also, experience says that if you have air intake system leaks, then dpf codes are just a result. You really should have tested that sensor koer. Maybe that is the wrong datapid, as aftermarker scanners often offer multiple variations of them. Unplug sensor and see if it reads high(pressure and voltage), then you know that it is the right data pid and you are not going down the rabbithole. Cheers
The PVC valve could be worn causing excessive oil to be ingested by air intake to the turbocharger, much more likely than the turbocharger leaking oil. I cringed when you moved the air filter aside. That is such a serious problem that MB has a TSB about it causing issues with the seal on the intake to the turbocharger being damaged to the point it is ingested turbocharger and consequently destroyed. Thank you for you for the videos you do, it is a great service to the Sprinter community.
Hi Deo, any reason for not smoke testing the induction system on the sprinter as you normally do, instead of guessing where the leak was coming from initially? I think the smoke tester would have pinpointed the leaks!
I think this economy has taught people the importance of multiple streams of income, unfortunately having a job doesn't mean security rather having different investments is the real deal.
I agree with you; I believe that financial security relies on having effective investment strategies to boost your earnings. While I don't know how many people think the same, I recommend looking crypto.
Totally agree! Investing in crypto can really pay off, especially if you start now. It’s awesome to see how many people are getting into it and finding success.

@BrendanOCallaghan-fp7fv Thank you, a little bit of oil is acceptable but this one was leaking too much, meaning the turbo was leaking
Hard to find a good machanic like you, i hope you doing well with your business, wish you luck, Merry Christmas to you and your family ⛄
@bugzie-a1769 Thank you! I appreciate it

@alfredperci9262 Thank you! Matt doesn't like to be in front of the Camera, One of these days I will concince him to show his Face LOL
Or the problem could be a block air filter to make the turbo leaking oil because it’s creating vacuum because the engine cannot breathe properly
@alfredperci9262 Good suggestion but that was not the issue
Super ,nice job ,,, how much does the turbo cost ? for that sprinter I have a 2014 sprinter van ,,

@GRUPORECREACIONMUSICAL Thanks! No a leaking turbo would not affect the glow plugs
Great diag. Thanks for your time , waiting on part II
@alrifainidal My Pleasure my Friend
Bravo, another great teaching video. Thank you Deo. (Ed sanders-Santa Clarita Ca. 2018 Mbz sprinter)

@tas.es9 Good point but this is not a pull down design sensor, 0v on the signal wire with the sensor unplugged is ok, Check out Part 2 of this video
You are amazing. I too am excited about part two.
@MarcPrice-e9y Thank you, You will love part 2
I can't wait to see part 2 especialy when replacing tabor
@wsnxumalo6707 Thanks, Part 2 came out today, Check it out

@joelawoyomi9102 Good question, the leak was pretty loud that I didn't think of using the smoke machine, the leak was there on the silencer!!
Grasias
@martinarrieta248 Thank you!
Deo... can you replace the seals(?) in the turbo? Or is that a wastegate problem?
@ekimbrough1413 I know some people can! I usually replace the entire turbo assembly
Oh man good video you are a very good mechanic are you

@ekimbrough1413 the turbo can be rebuilt but I don't do that, I replace them
As a retired college professor/administrator, I am going to send Matt a test to determine IF he IS retaining what you are teaching/telling him! 😂
@richardgreene3460 Lol. oh really, I was telling Matt that he's gonna know so much about cars very soon and I like that he asks great questions
I think Mercedes comes new from the factory with codes stored in the ECM😂
@mechtechtools838 Lol, That's funny
That's y don't buy vehicle's with turbo/hybrid cvt or all wheel drive u don't need any of it just cost more to fix and more problems
@trapps75 Lol
I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
@essamsabbah4016 I love you back
Might have to put it in gear to build boost
@johnniezuniga6841 there was no need to do that, the leak was pretty noticable

How does this whole crypto stuff work. I'm interested in it. And willing to invest heavily in it. But I need guidance so I don't lose out.
As a beginner, the best you can do to yourself is to get a professional that will handle your and minimize loss to its nearest rate...

Godfather great 🎉
@MprahEnock-db8ti Thank you my Friend!
Wouldn't a smoke machine show where leaks are
@trapps75 Yes it would
The Sprinter vans aren’t hard to diagnose..obviously wide spread incompetence in the transportation sector
@JOMaMa.. Oh Really??
