  • Advertisers got a sneak peek at our CHCH TV Fall schedule filled with returning shows, your favourite retro classics, blockbuster movies, and of course, the trusted news you expect for Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara.
Advertisers and network executives were in downtown Toronto Thursday afternoon as CHCH and other independent stations from across the country took part in IndieNET’s 2023 Upfronts, previewing their fall programming.
IndieNET is made up of six stations that cover 94 per cent of Canada, Yes TV in Calgary, Edmonton, and Ontario, along with CHEK tv in Vancouver and Victoria and NTV in eastern Canada.
Chris Fuoco, VP of Sales and Marketing at CHCH and Channel Zero said, “…CHCH as we all know is an incredible local, southern Ontario success story, but being part of IndieNET stretches our reach and our coverage and exposes it to the whole country.”
Among the highlights coming to the fall schedule at CHCH are returning favourites like 20/20 and America’s Funniest Home Videos and the return of the hit game show Celebrity Name That Tune.
Brand new to the fall lineup are reality programs Starstruck, The Courtship, and a documentary series Made of Money with Brian Cox, where the Succession star looks at the extremes of wealth and poverty.
Also joining the lineup as part of the daytime fan favourites are classics like Three’s Company, Mad About You, NewsRadio, and Silver Spoon.
Canadian stand-up comedian and writer Julie Kim, who has written for hit shows like Kim’s Convenience and Run the Burbs was the featured speaker at the event and stressed the importance of celebrating Canadian television.
Kim said, “There’s so many amazing emerging writers and producers and actors here. So yeah, I’m very passionate about making sure that we continue to grow that talent in-house.”
Upfronts across North America have been partially overshadowed due to the current Writers Guild of America strike with many major U.S. networks hosting toned-down events including CBS parent company Paramount who cancelled their event.
CHCH Evening News, Trending Now and Morning Live remain a central part of our programming.

CHCH features NO SINGLE SHOW that shows new Canadian talent. Not a single show.

It’s obvious that it’s going to be reruns for the foreseeable future until the writers strike gets settled. Who knows when that will be. I think you’ll see more people cutting their cable. It’s gonna be a 💩 show for a while.
