I did B2B with royal at Miami. Was the easiest well run process ever. We were back onboard at 10am and in the pool at 1010am. Was the only time we've ever had the whole solarium to our selves. It may have only lasted 30 minutes but we really enjoyed it!!!
Back before there were drink packages, we did a B2B on Carnival with turn around in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Because it was officially embarkation day for many joining the ship, we brought our documents and the "in transit" slip, got off the ship, bought 2 bottles of wine, dropped them off in our cabin, got off and bought 2 more.😅🥂
Just did b2b cruises on Saga, a British cruise line for … mature travelers. I was able to book the same cabin. No need to leave cabin at a particular time. Was able to go in and out of my cabin whenever I wanted. Could have left the ship to look around Dover, but I stayed on and had the run of the ship along with the 16 other hangers on. They even had a special lunch for us. Will be doing another b2b next year and will likely use the opportunity to visit Dover Castle.
We had a B2B when RC Allure of the Seas was transitioning back to Florida from being in dry dock for refurbishment. It was a 21 day Mediterranean Transatlantic to Fort Lauderdale from Barcelona. We had the same room for the entire B2B and the transfer ticket was called the “Golden Ticket” to skip the line and go through the crew entrance to get back on the ship. We did get off the ship when we got back to Barcelona from the Mediterranean portion of the trip so we could see the sites, especially the Sagrada Famillia church. Everything went so smoothly throughout the entire cruise.
We've taken 1 B2B cruise. It was on Royal Caribbean out of Ft. Lauderdale. Eastern and Western Caribbean. It was a piece of cake. We stayed in the same room. Around 10 am, we went to the MDR with the others. After maybe 30 minutes, they walked us through customs and right back onto the ship. I doubt the entire process was 45 minutes. I totally endorse B2B cruises.
My first B2B is next April. Then in Oct 2024, I have 4 B2B going from Honolulu to Sydney. Very expensive, but a once in a lifetime trip. Both trips I am traveling solo.
We used to take Celebrity’s 14 night Caribbean cruise in the winter and would meet some of the same cruisers from year to year. We did this about 4 - 5 times. When the cruise was discontinued, we decided to sail on a B2B cruise on Celebrity Edge. It was a very different experience. Because the ship had to return to Fort Lauderdale after 7 days, we couldn’t sail to all the way down to the ABC islands. The ship did the usual Eastern/Western itinerary. Because it was a 7 day cruise (repeated), the menus and the shows were the same each week. We now book the longest Caribbean cruise we can find each winter. In January 2024 we are booked on an 11 night Caribbean cruise on The Beyond. We expect 11 different menus and 11 different shows. The itinerary includes the Panama Canal, Cartagena, Colombia, and the ABC islands - a more interesting itinerary.
We are planning a B2B to one-way trips connecting in Tokyo. One thing you didn't cover is: when the continuing port is a bucket-list port in it's own right, can you do excursions in port? The final boarding time at an embarkation port is far earlier than at other ports.
This truly depends on the port and cruise line, but usually there will be an excursion or two offered for those on B2B cruises. If not, we recommend asking shore excursions team early into your cruise if they would be able to add one for B2B guests. This happened on one of our B2B cruises and Celebrity created one for B2B guests due to the requests. ☺️
Years ago did B2B on Princess. We met in the Theater waited for customs to com on board and then showed passport as we filed by. Easy Peasy. I have a Princess 20 day cruise which can be booked separately on Jan 24. Hope it is as easy as the first time.
Thanks so much for this info! Just booked a 21 day from Rotterdam for next July. It is a 14 plus 7 day so I’m assuming that’s considered consecutive. I also noticed that, when considering an excursion in Rotterdam, a message popped up that I could not book an excursion for the day in our cruise when we were in Rotterdam to embark/disembark passengers if we were continuing on the ship. I realize now it is in case there are customs issues.
9:59 You two gentlemen are so funny and just great! 🎉 your vlogs are so helpful and full of great info!! Thank you! Yes! We r considering a back to back! Where are you located?
We did our first B2B cruise and Celebrity Summit (4 + 5 night) this year). Great video! We loved that we could get back on the 2nd leg and get PREMIUM early access to the Solarium (had it to ourselves) on turnaournd day. Weird benefit, you get to meet some entertainers that have do to do the B2B process as well. Les Greene and the Swayzees had to go through the B2B re-boarding as well ...and they put on perhaps the greatest Poolside concert / party on the 2nd leg of our B2B!!!!
Thanks! As with most travel, prepared to follow local rules. Our B2B in Amsterdam was the easiest walk off - spent the day wandering and then returned after lunch. Was surprised on our B2B at San Pedro that the pols and hot tubs were all closed for quite a while as we had thought to enjoy those. That time we walked off to zero out and walked forward about 20 yards to the new security station and we're back on the ship. Love a consecutive cruise and as airline tickets can be as much as the sailing we are looking for even more.
I had to laugh at the idea of you guys in pyjamas in a Sydney cafe :) But I'm sure it's not the first time someone wandered in there in their pjs looking for a morning coffee
One thing to know aside from turnaround day, on the two different B2B cruises we went on, the food and entertainment were repeated. We were disappointed. Both were Princess.
We have a back to back to back coming...flying out soon for Europe! House sitter is ready & so are we! Thanks for your Barcelona info from B4...we'll be there! If the cruise leaves from Florida ports, we get off & pretty much back on. In England, we have found the same, so hoping it's quick this time! Enjoy your cruise guys, & thanks! Always be prepared!
We have done several back to back cruises. Everyone has been different. I can't remember who we were sailing but we were in Southampton. All B2B folks went to the theater -checked out and back in. We left the boat and took a train ride to a town about 15 miles away and did some geocaching and had some lunch. It was a very smooth process. Walked right back on the ship when we returned.
Not a backpack cruise but after leaving the ship, we were renting a car and going to Port Everglades and then to the Florida Keys. We should have looked at the weather. I’m dressed in a skirt and a tank top and my friend similar and it’s pouring down rain. We skipped the Everglades and just headed to the keys. Thanks for the information guys. I had no idea that each cruise line did this so differently.
ive done 4 back to backs never had any issues we usually leave the room the porter move our stuff or if we keep the same room then we just meet in a diningroom they give us our new sea pass we go take new pics then back on the ship and royal gives the back to back people a lunch as an amenity then we can go back to our room we dont have to wait until 1. I dont no how the other cruise lines do it but on royal easy pesy
Thanks guys... Given that I'll be doing my first B2B this winter (two 10-day Princess cruises in the Caribbean), I found this to be one of the most informative vids you've done. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the same cabin for both cruises, so I guess I'll have to be doing some packing on turnaround day. BTW, I would have paid to see you both in your PJs! 😀
I would have loved to see the expression on your face when you realized that you where going to be leaving the ship in your pjs. That must have beeen funny. Never done a back to back - wouldn't it be the same itinerary?
We’ve done both types, similar itinerary (Bahamas 3&4 night Cruise on Royal Caribbean and (Northeast to Reykjavik and back on Celebrity) as well as different itineraries such as Transpacific crossing then New Zealand Cruise or Transatlantic then Norwegian Fjords and now an Iceland then Baltic B2B Cruise! 🥳
We have been on 3 B2Bs so far and our 4th one will be out of New Orleans in July 2024. We love being the first back on the ship and, if you have the SAME room, you do NOT need to unpack again.
Sorry, I started watching and grandchildren walked in and it was the end. So before I go to sleep tonight I’ll watch it! We are doing a B2B on the Odyssey in January!
THe most accurate thing I can tell you is that it depends totally on the cruise line, the port, the Customs requirements, etc. We've even had things vary on same ship, same port a year apart. Probably the only consistent thing I can tell you is that the cruise line will put written instructions in your cabin on the second to last day.. We've done B2Bs on at least 3 lines, multiple ports on each line...and each time it was different.
On a B2B day how do you handle tech stuff from (probably) your earlier airline carry-on? - Ask Front Desk to hold onto it (or some part of it)? - Walk off ship (after 11am-ish) for your day in the B2B port carrying the tech bag? - Wait to leave ship until later when you are authorized to take tech bag to your new cabin? - Leave tech bag in old cabin along with suitcase hoping for an "event-free" transfer by the cabin stewart to the new cabin? - Skip "exiting" the ship? Really stumped on this issue. Thanks for any advice.
Great video guys, but we did several b2b and sometimes the cruise line sell the b2b as a single cruise with the same reservation number. If this is the case it is business as usual, no need to do anything just enjoy the day. Great story about Sydney that is something to remember!
Hey, great content as always. Honestly, I love the piano and singing at the end of your video!!! As a musician it’s just a cherry on top of great content !
Wow, a day ashore in Southampton, apart from getting lost in Ikea and eating meatballs the Sea City Museum has a tremendous interactive Titanic Exhibition.
Definitely, Definitely, Definitely keep the same stateroom. Packing and moving takes away from the B2B experience. Also, i can tell you we did a B2B with family who lived in the port city. They ran home on turnaround day to get some some stuff done and that certainly interrupted their relaxation. They said never again. Some cruise lines do this better than others. On Disney, we were left to fend for ourselves the first time. After having done a B2B on other lines, we had our TA escalate what happened with us because it was unacceptable. Our next 2 B2Bs were MUCH better after that. So if you use a TA and they have an escalation path, use it. Also make sure if have OBC that's nonrefundable, make sure you use it up on the first cruise. It won't carry over.
Qe did back-to-back on.the Panama canal. It was great, even most of the excursions were different. There were 70 of us. All we had to do was to the terminal and.walk to customs. It was interesting to see the terminal empty of people and luggage.
We've done 2 B2B's one with Princess and one with Royal Caribbean. Princess was far superior. The Royal Caribbean one was so disorganized. We were told to go to the theatre in Seward to get our new cards only to be told that we could not go back to our staterooms. Majority of the passengers did not bring anything with them to be able to get off the ship because we were not told we had to bring stuff to the theatre. Eventually enough people complained that they allowed us 20 minutes to go get our stuff.
You have become one of my favorite cruise vlogs. I've been on two back-to-back cruises...Celebrity in the Caribbean and HAL in Greece. Both totaled 12-14 days of cruise time. I would not do a back-to-back if I didn't have the same stateroom; otherwise, too much of a hassle. Lucky for me, no surprises. My time at the meeting place was under 1 1/2 hours. Enjoyed both very much, though I thought HAL did a better overall job.
Great video. Glad you confirmed for me what I was expecting. We are on the Virgin Voyages repositioning of the Resilient Lady from Greece to Australia in Oct/Nov, which is broken into three segments. BTW, we would never leave our stateroom in our PJs because they are not for public consumption. (LOL)
We did 3 b2b before but never same ship. The reason is we didn’t want the sameness of the same ship for second leg of the vacation. We usually chose different company ship for the later and we used free shuttle bus to another terminal of the same port.
We had a miserable turn around. We booked a 14 day cruise not knowing it was two 7 day cruises. We had to meet in the theatre. And then we were escorted to the area where you find your luggage when people are getting off. We were there for over an hour ( standing, no place to sit) waiting for two selfish couples did not leave their cabins and had to be escorted off and then, ad only then were we able to return to the ship.
Great info on b2b we are thinking about a 21 night cruises from Southampton and return to Southampton this consists of also been sold as a 14 night and returning to Southampton then a 7 night. If we buy as a 21 night would we have to get off this is onboard sky princess. Thanks love your videos.
Been with you guys July 2022 Murder Mystery/Christmas in July cruise on Freedom of the Seas. A little bit of a wait in the holding area but still so easy getting off and on again!
So so useful - thanks guys. Will be eager to see how things work out for my turnaround day in Southampton on Silhouette (at least we have the same cabin for both cruises) and great tips too. Plus - can you imagine having that pyjama experience in Reykjavik instead of Sydney 🥶
I did four weeks so I had to get off three times intransit. First time we went off together downstairs to customs. Very quickly we were in a room for a short time. Back on before 10:30. Next week was total chaos. So many people hadn’t left the ship including about 14 that hadn’t done the intransit. They were paging people. Tracking them down to get off. By the time they started trickling off the group for intransit was booing them. Then a supervisor came over to see if we had gone through customs which we hadn’t. Finally got to go through customs then wait to reboard. Next weekend they changed meeting spots, which I didn’t know because why would I go to the early morning meeting when I had done this twice already. Once I got to the right spot they were checking off names for intransit so they could call the stragglers. There were people that hadn’t disembarked and they paged them. Finally we got off and went through customs. Then waited for the ship to clear and back on around 11. Three different experiences so be flexible and don’t get too excited. We were asked to bring passports but they never looked at them. I would still bring it.
Thanks for sharing your experiences! You are completely correct, every time is like a gift from your next door neighbor… you never know what you’re going to get. 😅
So far the back to back cruises I've been on. We had to go to a hotel and the next day go back. Not a problem. We got free transportation both ways. I didn't know about the same day ones. One day I'll think about trying one of those. Thx 😊
Thanks! This was very helpful. Answered a lot of questions I had about back to back cruising. We are new to cruising, and I deeply appreciate everything you share on your channel.
I'm doing my first b2b British Isles then Scandanavian countries next May. Amsterdam (maybe) is our turn-around port so hopefully we will be able to get off and see the sites for the day. This is great information! Thanks for the tips. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!
Regarding cell phones: Most b2b cruisers would be from major ports from their home country, and so would likely have regular cell coverage without the need for wifi during the b2b cruisers wait time.
We have actually found it to be the opposite abroad, most B2B cruisers for longer sailings are wanting to make the long distance international flight worth it by staying for multiple cruise itineraries. Of course, 3 and 4 night - B2B cruises may be different. But, we have found a surprising make-up on our 7 night+ B2B itineraries. ☺️
Hi guys, hubby and I are retired and want to do a B2B cruise. We are completely flexible with time of year. We are past guests on Celebrity and Carnival. We are open to wherever we can get a deal. We currently live in Belize, so I am aware we will have to fly to a port. Would love to hear suggestions! Also we can book into 2025. Thanks, love your videos!
Hey! Thanks for watching our videos! Unfortunately, we can only book residents of the U.S. and Canada. That said, if you do have a residency in either of those countries, please fill out our booking form at www.jjcruise.com and we’ll be happy to book your cruise! 🥳
Question but first thank you for all the information. If you purchase liquor in the duty freestore on a back to back , will you be able to hold on to it for the second leg?
Great question! Honestly, they are supposed to hold onto it for both sailings but we’ve heard of some people picking it up the night before like everyone else heading and keeping it for the second sailing. So technically you aren’t supposed to but some may still do it and never get caught. 😅
Not sure why you'd want to schedule a back to back with a 3 and 4 day cruise. Why not just schedule a 7 day? Is it cheaper or is it more beneficial? Why go through the hassle?
Very informative, thanks! I'm on my first Celebrity B2B in Dec. When we return to Miami, I'm assuming I won't have to vacate the ship, or hoping anyway.
I'd be interested to her your thoughts on "Side to Side" cruises where you get off one ship and get on another in the same day. I am, for example, getting off the Norwegian Viva on December 13th and getting on the Scarlet Lady that same day (in Miami). I am operating under assumption I will get off the Viva, walk down the pier and board the Scarlet Lady. Am I setting myself up for failure?
Hi Eric! If there isn’t sidewalks the port workers may not allow you to walk between ports (we’ve never done that before). The worst case scenario would be to hire an Uber, but you could always ask the port workers or cruise line if there are any shuttles running between the piers (that is what we’ve done in the past).
@@JJCruise Yea, Virgin Miami and just 3/4 mile down the pier from NCL. I've walked it before when an Uber dropped me at the wrong end. LoL Should be OK.
I suggest you bring up a map of the port to see how far apart the 2 piers are. Also by looking at the port schedule it will tell you where each ship is docked so you know proximity. Miami cruise port is huge and SO BUSY. I made mistake ONCE of thinking I could walk from Bayside marketplace on over the bridge to the port. Well I did it but almost died trying. It was so HOT---there are so many cars, busses, people etc etc. Nobody stopped me---wish they had LOL. It didn't feel dangerous was just hard so I think there was sidewalks. Pack light, hope you can find a shuttle--not sure if there is one---have water with you. Good luck. There is always a way......... BTW getting an uber out of port Miami is awful on a busy port day. And cell phones seem to not work that well because there are so many people trying and so much cement building around---everyone me included had problem last year outside the new NCL terminal. After a lot of trying ( I was leaving the port ) I got in the long taxi line and out of there---when you finally leave- after second cruise --if airport transport is an option---take it. (oh and the construction in downtown Miami is not fun so give yourself lots of time to get to the terminal in the first place. Don't want to scare you but just be prepared if there are many ships in on the day you embark.
@@jlgcannuck If you bring-up a map of Dodge Island, Miami you'll see Virgin is Terminal V at the west end and NCL is terminal B, about a mile down. No Uber driver is going to take that short a trip. I have a number of friends on the NCL cruise. I will probably hitch a ride on their Uber to the airport.
I did B2B with royal at Miami. Was the easiest well run process ever. We were back onboard at 10am and in the pool at 1010am. Was the only time we've ever had the whole solarium to our selves. It may have only lasted 30 minutes but we really enjoyed it!!!
Might be a great day for the thermal suite if ship has one and it’s open!

Because it was officially embarkation day for many joining the ship, we brought our documents and the "in transit" slip, got off the ship, bought 2 bottles of wine, dropped them off in our cabin, got off and bought 2 more.😅🥂

I love doing B2B. You know how the cruise director and the crew are saying goodbye to everyone the night before? And you don't have to! It's great.
I’m looking forward to this part - no cruise blues (until the time I HAVE to get off)
The back to back in your pajamas are the best. You get the prize.
🏆 we will gladly accept this prize 😉

Thanks Crystal! Definitely a cruise experience to try! 🥳
This is really relevant with the Utopia Sailings being so short
Were doing a B2B 14 day cruise on the wonder in February to western and Eastern Caribbean. We have to change rooms.

Yes! Very true! Besides specialty acts which could change cruise to cruise, production shows typically won’t change.
Doing our 1st B2B this September with Celebrity. Can't wait. We actually booked an excursion with Celebrity instead of waiting around .
Great call! Definitely a good way to spend the day! 🥳

- Skip "exiting" the ship?
Really stumped on this issue.
Thanks for any advice.
Unless we need to work, we leave that bag with our others for the steward to move.
Thanks for your quick response.
This makes things much easier!
Good afternoon guys!
Have done many b/2/b cruises, all on Celebrity and I love it.They have all been so easy and I love having the ship all to myself (almost)
Doing a B2B in November, the 4 night and 3 night tryout cruises on Celebrity Ascent! Staying in the same room.
Great video guys, but we did several b2b and sometimes the cruise line sell the b2b as a single cruise with the same reservation number. If this is the case it is business as usual, no need to do anything just enjoy the day. Great story about Sydney that is something to remember!
So glad! We are doing a 2025 back to back to the great Barrier reef and Auckland. And we have an aft balcony.
I really like B2B. Especially when others have their luggage out and we don’t have to pack 😀
Perfect timing. Leaving ng in 90 days for my first time in Europe and first back to back. Valiant Lady, Western Mediterranean then trans Atlantic
Don't think we would do B2B cruising but glad to know. Thank you for sharing the information.
Jay your smile is infectious! You must be a blast to hang with. Great video and I can attest this all to be accurate information
I've never done a B2B but this is great info in case I have the opportunity in the future. Thanks for this unique tip video.
(LOL)
A B2B is in my future. I usually do my own travel arrangements. For this I know I will need a TA.
Very informative video! These are the questions I've had about back to back cruises. I am looking forward to doing this one day
4:00 Lol to that kid... Nice video as always. I have a B2B booked on Navigator of the Seas in Jan/2024. I look forward to it.
We had to include this clip as we both lol’d ourselves when watching this clip back 😂
We’ve never done a back to back cuz we do 7-10 days so this is very informative cuz might be doing one in October. Thanks so much.
Great info on b2b we are thinking about a 21 night cruises from Southampton and return to Southampton this consists of also been sold as a 14 night and returning to Southampton then a 7 night. If we buy as a 21 night would we have to get off this is onboard sky princess. Thanks love your videos.
It does seem to vary from one time to another. We were told to take a seat and wait to re board after clearing immigration 🤦♀️
Very helpful! I just sent it to clients/friends who are currently considering a B2B from NY. Thanks for great content!
Been with you guys July 2022 Murder Mystery/Christmas in July cruise on Freedom of the Seas. A little bit of a wait in the holding area but still so easy getting off and on again!
LOL In your pajamas!!!
Thx for the info! B2B coming up in February and next December ☺️. Our first one got cut short by Covid🥺 but we won’t give up😉😉
So so useful - thanks guys.
Sailing the wonder August 20ty and your videos were awesome and helpful. Thank you both.
So glad to hear!! Thanks for watching!
We stayed in the same cabin. The best
So far the back to back cruises I've been on. We had to go to a hotel and the next day go back. Not a problem. We got free transportation both ways. I didn't know about the same day ones. One day I'll think about trying one of those. Thx 😊
Wow, what a timely video. I was just wondering how this works.
Have you done back to back cruises but on a different ship.
Thanks! This was very helpful. Answered a lot of questions I had about back to back cruising. We are new to cruising, and I deeply appreciate everything you share on your channel.
Thank you for putting this video out. We will be doing our first back-to-back cruise with Princess in November and so looking forward to it.
TOO BAD YOU DID'NT VIDEO YOUR SHORE STAY IN PAJAMAS, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN HILARIOUS!
We should have!! 😂
@@JJCruise Any embarrassing encounters with the New South Wales Police?
Thanks, guys! Good timing for me. I was just worrying about this very issue, as we're thinking about a back-to-back from Dover next summer.
What a nice suprise!!
Excellent!
Thanks for the info, we have never done a b2b.
Hi loves.. with a b2b, are you required to muster again?
Great tips guys !
I got a bit anxious, listening to all of this. I’m not sure I want to do a back to back. 😂😂
I'm doing my first b2b British Isles then Scandanavian countries next May. Amsterdam (maybe) is our turn-around port so hopefully we will be able to get off and see the sites for the day. This is great information! Thanks for the tips. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!
Thanks for watching! Have a wonderful cruise! 🥳
Good morning guys!!!!!
Thanks for sharing Great video ❤❤❤❤
Very helpful information , thank you J & J, love your channel
Thanks for this, I've always wondered how consecutive cruises rolled.
Good morning everyone. From Ca
Great tips guys. Thanks as always.
Great info
Hmmmm, do you guys remove the posts you don't like?
Have any pics of the PJ'S at the coffee shop? 🤭
No, we weren’t looking our best for pics 😅
@@JJCruise oh, you two always look great!
That is so good to know, thanks and happy cruising!!
#Replay ❤
Not sure why you'd want to schedule a back to back with a 3 and 4 day cruise. Why not just schedule a 7 day? Is it cheaper or is it more beneficial? Why go through the hassle?
It was a financial decision. It was MUCH less $$ than a 7 night cruise.
@@JJCruise Good to know. Thks 👍
Walk off the ship…
Wait a few minutes…
Walk back on in a few minutes.
Rescan your sh¡t.
DONE!
Well… it depends on where you are.
Very informative, thanks! I'm on my first Celebrity B2B in Dec. When we return to Miami, I'm assuming I won't have to vacate the ship, or hoping anyway.
We have had to walk off so the ship could zero out - the. We walked back on with our new passes.
@@patti1044 Good to know, thank you! I should of known not to ASSume. ANd I really have zero desire to go into Miami..LOL
LoL
Should be OK.
