Cripple Creek - Mountain Dulcimer

This is me playing Cripple Creek on my Mountain Dulcimer, also testing out my new noter that I carved out of a stick in the yard... Works great!
(sadly no cat in this one, but there are cows on the other side of the camera)

He's using a quill (feather) for a plectrum, and also a "noter" on the fretboard instead of his fingers. It's how many traditional people would have played. Very nice! 🎶🎵🎶

Using a turkey quill as a plectrum sounds better than using a guitar pick.

A quill. It's literally a wild Turkey feather with the down stripped off. He also using a short wooden dowel as a slide called a 'noter' which is why this is called called 'Noter & Quill' style.
