I'm from Santiago, Chile also. And I love the fact he's a Chilean. He lived in my city during 70's & 80's and escaped with his family out of the country due in that time we had a dictator that pursued them by having alliance with a enemy of this dictator and wanted to kill them so Pedro it's a Refugee but in a way I feel so proud of this man because I never thought a Chilean could reach that success and famous around the world and even if his childhood was that hard. It's like... yikes and broke my expectations bc I always thought a Chilean couldn't reach so far and it motivates me to do the goals I want to. I'm a young writer and I never felt enough courage to publish any book by me but one of my dreams is to live the American Dream on CA or NY and then put into practice all my skills I never felt courage to show. And the most fun part of this is that in this country just few ones know him, he's not known on this country lol

I personally haven’t seen many Chilean people in large movies so when I learnt that Pedro was Chilean I though that was super empowering being a Chilean woman who is quite disconnected from her culture. I also really thought that the Wednesday show on Netflix was nice because of the latino cast and seeing how big the show got made me proud to be Latina + seeing Latino individuals playing characters that aren’t stereotypical is cool as well.

People are usually misinformed about other nations. There are too many countries to explore them all. Americans are ridiculously misinformed about Europeans too. Europeans are white (except of some immigrants from the last few decades) but Americans think white=pale as snow and they are shocked to find out many Europeans can pass as latinos. But we are probably misinformed about the USA too.
