At 1:44, you are not seeing removable lenses or tape, you are seeing the heat sink at the back of the gimbal housing. The gimbal ball is simply rotated down and away from us.
They are exactly the same thing. ram is random access memory. The internal storage is a non volatile version of RAM called NVRAM, but it is still RAM. It's common to say RAM, internal storage or just memory. But to be clear I should have used NVRAM.
Internal storage isn’t usually called NVRAM. NVRAM is a specific type of memory used for small-scale tasks like storing BIOS settings, not for large storage capacities like 512GB or 4TB. Calling it NVRAM or even "memory" just adds confusion. In tech, "memory" typically refers to RAM, which is for temporary processing, not long-term storage. It’s much clearer to just call it "internal storage."
RAM - random access memory, the ability to read and write. memory is a general term, RAM is specific. Internal storage is also a general term. NVRAM = non-volatile RAM. It can red and write, but when the power goes off, it retains the information for a period of time. Internal storage could be HDD, SSD or a hybrid of each. Early iPods used HDD for internal storage. However some internal storage could also be ROM. A CD is an example of a ROM - it's read only. Breaking down SSD, SATA, NVMe, M.2 and U.2 SSD. They are all RAM, and the type of RAM they are is NVRAM. The reason for the confusion is most people selling and marketing these devices have no idea what memory really is or how it works. Go ahead and ask a sales rep how long the election control trap of an SSD can hold data. It varies from 6 months to ten years. Why does this matter? If you don't give it power, the data will be come corrupt after that period of time.
I ordered the AIR A3S; could not wait for the Mavic 4 Pro. Having said that, I may order the Mavic 4 Pro a while after it appears in the market and enough positive reviews appear on these channels. Once thing does worry me, apparently no LIDAR in the Mavic 4 Pro, its something I could benefit from my intended use of these drones.
i don't really understand the point of built in ND filters on a drone without interchangeable lenses. wouldn't aperture fill that role, since we can't go above let's say f/2.8, its not really useful for low light, and it doesn't affect depth of field because you're too far from your subject anyways. maybe the ND's are an extra way of getting rid of excess light, since you wouldn't want to push the aperture beyond f/11 because of diffraction.
Unfortunately with the tiny sensors inside drones, diffraction tends to hit way before f11. I’ve always found about f4-5.6 to be the sweet spot on most drones, and it starts to soften up pretty quickly after that.
Late to the party but aperture will only get you so far as it will alter the look of your image. Same with ISO and Shutter speeds, that leaves ND. Leave the settings in the sweet spots and change the ND. Amazing not having to return the drone and land to change filters.
specs and pricing seems realistic but i'm still convinced that the mavic 4/4 cine comes first and pro/pro cine comes later down the line the three camera setup is just a new standard setup
@ I don’t actually have the Macic 3 Pro and just got the mini 4 Pro but after I get my part 107 license I would like to get the latest high end DJI drone and the high magnification lens would lend very well to a whole host of videography and search and rescue. Love the parallax the. 70mm gives
A real 14 stops for a cinema drone is very significant, even if you shoot during the day, but at maybe 6 to 8 ft. I use it like a cinema camera on a drone motion platform. Flying over an open landscape at 300 ft, I take your point, 14 stops is probably not needed, but then a cine drone is not needed either. That may be how most of your users may use that drone, and if they do, they probably shouldn't waste their money for the cine version.
Mult photo @ 100mp sounds like the fake quad bayer stuff they use for 48 MP. So it will probably be 4X25 mp photos. So still not very good for photogrammetry. I did everything I wanted with drones 8 years ago, I honestly thought we would be at the 100mp mark by now and well into the 50's several years ago but it never really came on an affordable drone. Looks like the wait continues or the GVT do not want us having that much power, which is kinda understandable as you would be able to fly these drones outside government offices and read text off the monitors and notes on the desk, could be a nightmare. But sounds fun, I know I would get into trouble with that much power.
The air3 s was supposed to have 14 stops of dynamic range, the low light images are so poor, its like using a 10 year old digital camera , can't belive very few people are calling dji out on this, love the images on the pro 2 hope the pro 4 follows suit
Guess there are two syllables right ? Anyway , we here in China see these stuff all the time . It’s a marketing still of chipping bits and bytes out there . I see these all the time .
The 3x zoom on the mavic 3 pro is garbage, I used it a lot in the beginning but never use it anymore for video and not even the DJI Inspire 3 has Pro Res 4444 yet so how are they going to utilize it with this downgraded consumer drone 🤔
Not “sin”, but pronounced “Sinee”. Appreciate your work, thank you for the updates, just trying to politely help. I’ve been subscribed for quite sometime.

Even computers don’t have 512gb RAM… RAM and internal storage are two very very different things.

@@OrdinaryFilmmakerliterally never heard anyone refer to internal storage as RAM..
@@OrdinaryFilmmakerso hence NVRAM and RAM ain’t the same right ?

I am not happy about a 50mm lens. Where is the 70mm?
You’re saying the word Cine incorrect and it just sounds a bit daft, sorry!!
Yes, that really got me too. I have never heard anyone pronouncing it “sin” before, it is “cin-e”, short for cinema, or cinematic.
This is pretty exciting! Thanks for the content.

Great info Simon.
Are you sure the middle camera is moving from a 70mm to a 50mm equivalent lens?? That would suck. i think 70mm is perfect.

Its an Expediant way of adjusting on the fly without having to stop- mist will see it as an marketing ploy it does sound good

Looks like a military purpose surveillance drone..

Sound great but I would rather see a 70mm lens like in the Mavic 3 Pro and not a 50mm lens 😔
I agree. The 70mm is awesome and used a lot.

You said 95.3 wh of battery but the text says 65.3 wh. Can you clarify which it is?
95.3
hoping they leave the ND filters to the Cine version. much rather have controllable CP on the base model than ND filters tbh.
Not even flex seal can fix that leak😂

I concur with the other comment here. “Cine” is pronounced with two syllables (si-nee), not one.

could that possibly be an ND filter.

Mar 18, 2025 - yes I know you said you didn't think so
This drone is ugly af smh
It looks ugly
So do I, but I'm still useful ;)
Its definitely not winning any fashion show anytime time soon lol,,,
The important thing is to capture photons, not that they fall in love with the drone
