Although there is so much I don't like about these darts I was really impressed with the closeup view and the precision of machining. I can understand the high price since the machining is of such a high quality.

Lovely looking set of darts 💯🎯 but in my opinion way to expensive for £100 I would expect a diamond coating, I know there's a lot of machining gone into the barrel's but I still think to expensive for a dart like this! Great looking dart and a good review Darren. I know they are £100 but when you look at the machining that’s gone into them and the fact they have 3 different colour coatings/paint then you can easily see why they have the high price tag.

Hi Darren, just a heads up so that you don't take any stick for red dragon's mistakes. It appears the venom points are no longer standard with this dart and people are now receiving them with the bog standard normal silver points. It was probably a marketing technique to get the venom points in the first batch so that people would see them on videos and images over social media however red dragon can fall back on the fact the picture on the site does not have the venom points so a crafty move on their part it seems. A shame as £100 is expensive as it is. Red dragon really were once the best imo but past 18 months seem to be getting very greedy and borderline cheeky with some quality errors for the pricing.

At first I thought maybe there was some mistake in peoples orders, maybe some ordered the points and then they were sent to wrong people but I have had a lot tell me they got the Venom points on their darts so was not really sure what was happening. All seems a bit odd though to do that, unless they originally planned to sell them with Venom points and had so many set up with them. I could have sworn when I first checked on the RD site that it mentioned the Venom points as I even wrote it down in my notes ready for the review but next time I looked after someone mentioned about the points I never saw any mention of them on the site, all a bit weird?
I genuinely do think it was a cheeky marketing tactic as like I said everyone who got at set from an initial batch will have the venom points and it's them images and videos that are seen by future buyers online who then haven't got a leg to stand on because the pictures on the site don't show the dart with the venom points. It's left quite a bitter taste for me personally as someone who liked red dragon and collects all Peters darts.
I emailed them as well lol. Got a reply today saying the venom points were part of the launch as an exclusive but they will now come with standard points. How nice of them during a cost of living crisis lol.

I bought his first Winmau ones when they first came out, never took them out the package lol but thats normal for me, I have some darts nearly 10 years old still in their cellophane wrapper :)

These arrived today for me. Wasn’t as grippy as I expected but there’s still plenty. Personally I think the grip at the back is better than the front. Nice dart overall 👍

@@wilson5377 I don't think the dart will have much bearing on whether you can throw with the other hand, it will just be the same as the decision you made with what suited you before with your good hand. However it may be best to go with the usual beginners recommended straight barrel ring grip but might be better with a 25g+ weight. But I have heard from lots of people that have switched to another hand/arm and some to a very good level, takes time but definitely possible 😊

A long and thin barrel? And an out of the box tapered nose cone point? Absolutely my thing, but....heck, what a whopping price for a relatively simply machined barrel. I´ll buy a set for the collection and certainly will play it too, but I guess I´ll wait until these Snakebite darts appear on the second hand market. I´m not paying more than 70 Euros for these...

LOL I wish I could do that all the time, I do have days once in a while where my throw feels right and I play well, but most of the time its like it has a different feel every throw, think it just depends how my body is doing though lol
When you get your darts can you report back to let me know if they are fitted with Venom points, some people are saying they dont come with them, I never bought them as extras so seems strange why mine have them?

No some people got the venom points as that was how they were originally intended to be sold at but then they had supply issues so went with standard points, only found that out later though.
very nice looking dart great for the collection but i agree its too pricey for what you get. especially packaging. They need to be looking at perfect 9 darts to get an idea on how to package premium darts.
I think there is two sides of thinking on packaging, its nice as a premium, luxury collectors set thing but for all darts its not that practical, storage and waste/recycling etc Its hard not to like the P9 one though :)

This is one awesome looking dart. But yeah, fairly long to my liking. When I first saw Peter Wright using them it was not obvious they are that long. By the way, could you please refer to an online shop in Great Britain where you can buy Red Dragon products. I wasn't able to find any... Only in Netherlands and USA.
I've just ordered these in 24g but you didn't mention there was a 24g was I tripping out when I ordered them (I was drunk at the time)🤷🏻♂️ also I think you have too buy those points separately looked like they come with Standard points and for £100 you would of thought those points would come with them
There was no 24g when I ordered them so maybe they added it later also some other people got the venom points so I don't know what is happening with the RD site?
I know this is a old post...just wanne drop my opinion on them points... Im very dissapointed in the... Im from SA... ordered those point from a suppliers here... I realy need a good cone shape point as im using the condor x flights... To my dissapointment i put a set in my barrels and love the points... unfortanatly my one dart dropped from the board and the point snapped... so I out another as i bought 2 sets... another broke inside the board... oky...so i put another... after a few throughs i was discussed and desided to take them out and replace all... so i used the mission repointing tool...so another point broke... I made contact with the store i bought it from... he said he just received a good review... As i dont want to fight and bad mouth the product... I know theres alot of changers out there... So I just left it. No refund no offers on another type point set... so the next morning i awoke with a very bad taste as i was looking forward to these points... I made contact with red dragon... Just to here sorry but i did not bought it from that side... also no nothing from them... Nice to support a company that feels this much for a small customer... Ive got nationals coming up and im stuck with this... Ive got a few sets of red dragon darts and some other goods... but never in my life again !!!
Nice review as always. But if I was going to buy player darts they wouldn't be Wrights regardless of build quality. Maybe if he actually stuck to a style!!
Well look at MVG he used his Mckicks darts for years, maybe still does, all the time he was with various brands. His old darts probably cost less than £20 but his newer darts don't. But that's business, the brands are not a charity and they pay a lot to sign high profile players spend a lot in promotion and manufacturing so it's not that surprising they will cash in on such players.
Great review Darren lovely darts but I find Peter Wright is a bit of a cash cow for red dragon as we all know no way I would pay that price peter is one of my favourite players but wow that's a big price 😀 👍

I think the only the reason why they produce very complex grip is: to sell more and more expensive. I don"t see any improvement, Peter Wight now beacomes a brand on high-price-products.
Well if they did not keep making such complex grips you would just be stuck with basic ring grip and people would complain there is nothing new, but over the years there has been so many new types of grip and people then moan that its no better and a basic grip works best, so in the end the brands cant do right for doing wrong lol!
@@DartsReviewChannel with cnc technoligy I don't thing this grip would be more difficult to produce than wc2020 or mamba. Maybe more time to do. It is fully automated, you only purchase for designs and catchy looking. Not for producing.
@@salamonlaszlolibrarian yes as the machines have improved they have got much better at making more complex grips easier, still have a high cost of the machines and cutting blades which wear quicker doing all that extra machining but I am sure it is cheaper now than 5 years ago but now other things have skyrocketed such as container shipping etc. Not trying to make an excuse for RDs price but I think as I have said many times over the years it's more involved than we take at face value. Problem is we were spoilt for a long time with darts that were always relatively cheap. From memory I think it all started with the Unicorn Taylor darts about 2008 or whenever it was, the price seemed crazy then, then the Phase 5 Rosso came out and it was even more shocking. People still bought them though but it seemed to start a trend for ever increasing prices.

Would like to see a review of the Steve brown darts from red dragon... Got myself a set and would recommend them to anyone .

Last part of the barrel l think for me, is better in green that's only for me. Almost another 180 best of luck Darren always stay safe.

A long and thin barrel? And an out of the box tapered nose cone point? Absolutely my thing, but....heck, what a whopping price for a relatively simply machined barrel. I´ll buy a set for the collection and certainly will play it too, but I guess I´ll wait until these Snakebite darts appear on the second hand market. I´m not paying more than 70 Euros for these...

They felt a bit thicker but its more like a Target Storm style point, feel neat actually :)

LOL I wish I could do that all the time, I do have days once in a while where my throw feels right and I play well, but most of the time its like it has a different feel every throw, think it just depends how my body is doing though lol

When you get your darts can you report back to let me know if they are fitted with Venom points, some people are saying they dont come with them, I never bought them as extras so seems strange why mine have them?
I got mine the other day from red dragon. I had to pay over £13 extra to have the venom points fitted

Beautiful but expensive, Did you add those points as an extra as the red dragon site as standard silver points on these?
No some people got the venom points as that was how they were originally intended to be sold at but then they had supply issues so went with standard points, only found that out later though.

very nice looking dart great for the collection but i agree its too pricey for what you get. especially packaging. They need to be looking at perfect 9 darts to get an idea on how to package premium darts.
I think there is two sides of thinking on packaging, its nice as a premium, luxury collectors set thing but for all darts its not that practical, storage and waste/recycling etc Its hard not to like the P9 one though :)

Lol I never check the average scores and one reason why I don't always go by what I do in the video is because I am well aware of that new darts syndrome affect lol it's still nice to catch some good throws on video though 😊👍
This is one awesome looking dart. But yeah, fairly long to my liking. When I first saw Peter Wright using them it was not obvious they are that long. By the way, could you please refer to an online shop in Great Britain where you can buy Red Dragon products. I wasn't able to find any... Only in Netherlands and USA.
As far as I know you can only buy the darts from Red Dragon in the UK 😊

I've just ordered these in 24g but you didn't mention there was a 24g was I tripping out when I ordered them (I was drunk at the time)🤷🏻♂️ also I think you have too buy those points separately looked like they come with Standard points and for £100 you would of thought those points would come with them
There was no 24g when I ordered them so maybe they added it later also some other people got the venom points so I don't know what is happening with the RD site?
I know this is a old post...just wanne drop my opinion on them points... Im very dissapointed in the... Im from SA... ordered those point from a suppliers here... I realy need a good cone shape point as im using the condor x flights... To my dissapointment i put a set in my barrels and love the points... unfortanatly my one dart dropped from the board and the point snapped... so I out another as i bought 2 sets... another broke inside the board... oky...so i put another... after a few throughs i was discussed and desided to take them out and replace all... so i used the mission repointing tool...so another point broke... I made contact with the store i bought it from... he said he just received a good review... As i dont want to fight and bad mouth the product... I know theres alot of changers out there... So I just left it. No refund no offers on another type point set... so the next morning i awoke with a very bad taste as i was looking forward to these points... I made contact with red dragon... Just to here sorry but i did not bought it from that side... also no nothing from them... Nice to support a company that feels this much for a small customer... Ive got nationals coming up and im stuck with this... Ive got a few sets of red dragon darts and some other goods... but never in my life again !!!

Dart looks nice. Wouldn't pay that much unless you're actually playing pro.
Price is not really relative to how you work with the darts though, many pro players darts are or were very cheap basic styles :)

Well look at MVG he used his Mckicks darts for years, maybe still does, all the time he was with various brands. His old darts probably cost less than £20 but his newer darts don't. But that's business, the brands are not a charity and they pay a lot to sign high profile players spend a lot in promotion and manufacturing so it's not that surprising they will cash in on such players.
Great review Darren lovely darts but I find Peter Wright is a bit of a cash cow for red dragon as we all know no way I would pay that price peter is one of my favourite players but wow that's a big price 😀 👍
Thanks Jeff, yes Wright has been a great asset to RDs business, but plenty of other players have had lots of different dart models to their name and not always used the darts 😊

I think the only the reason why they produce very complex grip is:
to sell more and more expensive. I don"t see any improvement, Peter Wight now beacomes a brand on high-price-products.
Well if they did not keep making such complex grips you would just be stuck with basic ring grip and people would complain there is nothing new, but over the years there has been so many new types of grip and people then moan that its no better and a basic grip works best, so in the end the brands cant do right for doing wrong lol!

It is fully automated, you only purchase for designs and catchy looking. Not for producing.
@@salamonlaszlolibrarian yes as the machines have improved they have got much better at making more complex grips easier, still have a high cost of the machines and cutting blades which wear quicker doing all that extra machining but I am sure it is cheaper now than 5 years ago but now other things have skyrocketed such as container shipping etc. Not trying to make an excuse for RDs price but I think as I have said many times over the years it's more involved than we take at face value. Problem is we were spoilt for a long time with darts that were always relatively cheap. From memory I think it all started with the Unicorn Taylor darts about 2008 or whenever it was, the price seemed crazy then, then the Phase 5 Rosso came out and it was even more shocking. People still bought them though but it seemed to start a trend for ever increasing prices.
