Resealed engine with MLS gaskets and replaced cat and radiator at 220k on my 01’ Forester S. Still running like a new car at 230k m! Best investment in car maintenance I’ve ever made
I have one of these in White, with the 5 Speed. Has all the options except the automatic and I think the car was a special order. I doubt a dealer would order a loaded S Premium with a manual.
I see them occasionally. I got confused when an older gentleman had one in the same color. We both laughed and went our separate ways. Still see him on occasion.
Such a beautifull forester. Till this day i have my 98 with 300k miles

The last Motorweek road test with the show’s 1997-2000 graphics.
My 02 Forester S just passed 80k miles. Hope to get 10-15 more years.
I always thought that the Forester was a taller wagon. I didn't know that it's supposed to be an suv.

Same but mines red
Please put up the 2004 TL review if you've got it. It would be very appreciated.
Probably on its 5th headgasket if it is still on the road
Somehow I still see a lot of these on the road today tho

Standard factory Subaru single layer graphite coated head gaskets don't last.
You need to replace it with the multilayered turbo one.
As mentioned by others, if you throw away the factory gasket and use a good quality one, you're 100% fine
