This earphone can't even last 2 years! I went to Sony Centre and they told me, I had to change both earbuds for $130+ What an absolute joke! It's not even my problem, it's the faulty earbuds you made and unfortunately it happens after my 1 year warranty ends. Great! Absolutely great

My left earbud had the red light stuck on whether it was in or out of the case. Held my finger on the left sensor, after 20 seconds it went off and came back on. Took it out of the case and it went back to normal. Thank you
This worked! My headphones would not connect I turned off and on my phone and the device. I watched this video and finally it worked! My headphones were already on red in the case but when holding for 20 seconds it turned off then back on again and boom reset I wish this was in the manual.
Worked for me! Only one side wasn't working, so I put it in the case and did the 20 second thing for that one earbud. So you don't need to do both sides, just do whichever bud needs to be reconnected
To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

i sent mine in for repair to mediamarkt (sweden) cause the left earbuds battery died and got them back with one of the earbuds having a newer firmware version than the other one, this way of resetting reverted my firmware back to 2.0.2, so a huge thank you for this Edit: nevermind, i was just too quick in reading the version numbers so this didn't fix anything
For those of you guys who are unable to get the headset to enter pairing mode even after resetting them as in above video , you are requested to initialize the headsets by putting both buds into the case and pressing both touch sensors simultaneously for about 10 seconds & remove fingers when the red indicator starts to flash , now you will see a blue indicator flashes briefly. You can then take them out of the case and wear them & you will now get notified about pairing mode being initiated. At this point you can tap NFC tag to pair or use the regular bluetooth settings on you phone. These steps are explained in another instructional youtube video by Sony (Just search for "WF-1000XM3 How to initialize " on youtube). Hope that helps.

Does both earbuds need to flash blue. Only the left side is flashing on mine. Right side has never flashed blue either after this reset or when I take it out of the case. is that abnormal?
This did not work for me. The right earbud is 100% unresponsive. Because of this I can't even pair the headphones with other devices and at least use the left side...because the bluetooth pairing requires both sides to be held down. =(

Is only one earbud connecting? It may be Google assistant causing it. Turn off/disable google assistant and try again. It worked for me I was so confused

My left earbud still won’t play sound. Just stopped working all of a sudden. Updated ios to 13.2.3 and I updated the Sony earbud software to the most recent available update as of 11/24/19 and it still didn’t fix the issue. Tried factory reset with buds in the case, no fix. The left button still functions to some degree but not fully.
Most likely speaker went bad or shorted smd capacitor. Usually happens when ppl take their ear buds inside the gym steam room. Electrical and moisture don mix well, causes electrical components to get shorted.
SOLID BLUETOOTH CONNECTION ON WINDOWS 10 LAPTOPS AND COMPUTERS = WF-10000XM3/4 - touch both ear buds for several seconds and they will tell you pairing mode - Win 10 also shows when they are paired (Bluetooth & Other Devices Folder) and you can connect/Disconnect via the Bluetooth and the Sound/Playback setting in Windows 10 - for stuttering problems place the Mark3's in Priority on connection instead of priority on sound. Note: I had to Disable my Realtek High Definition Audio in order for these to work and not compete as a playback device. using the Sound/Playback setting in Windows 10. IMPORTANT: Control Panel> Device Manager right click on WF-1000XM3, then Services > uncheck Telephony apply & close> same procedure for WH-1000XM3/4 Headphones w/ Windows 10 May want to restart computer to be sure.
The right hand earbud has malfunctioned, it’s stuttering, wont connect via Bluetooth anymore to even use the app. Only a week old. And this happened at the same time as trying to assign google assistant to it which I hear causes issues! Will be going back to the shop

I've had these earbuds for less than a month. The right earbud now is playing at a lower volume than the left earbud. And then when I change the equalizer setting to 'Off' the left is scrambled and the right seems like it's working. I've reset the earbuds, removed Google Assistant as the default on the left earbud and yet nothing seems to work. Did I get a lemon or does anyone have any tips to share? Thanks in advance!

I just had the exact same problem, take the rubber earbuds off and look inside the little part where sound comes out, there’s little tiny tiny sponges in there. It might look clean but wiggle it so it pops up fully. Fixed my problem completely

Mine only lasted four months. After that the red light on the right one never turn off. It heats and the battery only last about half an hours. Even if I dont use it.

Those wondering if you wanna buy this or not.. I just bought these yesterday and I have to say they’re great!!! The sound is crazy clear and they pack a punch! Easy to connect....BUT!!! They lag at times, sometimes th left one on mine (and I have read others as well) it disconnects out of the blue! And THEN the Bluetooth cut off out of nowhere eventho I had my phone In my pocket. So so far there are lots of disconnection issues ..
There are settings in the app to prioritize your connection. I've never had any problems at all with them after placing the phone in my pocket and walking all over the place with them. My phone is an Android phone by the way. Samsung s10+ if that makes a difference. Also the app is updated as well to a new version. But like I said, check the settings to what is prioritized.

So my earbuds just started being only able to connect one at a time. Whenever I turn one off, the other connects and vice versa. Tried both methods of resetting and nothing is working. Really sucks because I cant afford another pair of 200 dollar headphones and really expected them to be better coded than this bug-fest.

didnt make sense to me. When i put them in the case the its bright red already, cant turn on something thats already turned on, and its conencted, its just a really weak sound on the left one. guess ill have to keep troubleshooting. Ive hardly used them and i payed alot of money.
just bought them 3 days ago, worked ok until I downloaded the latest firmware, now I can not pair to Macbook Pro M1 (brand new machine) and they connect to my Xiaomi (only one side working). Sony .. EXTREMELY dissapointed. The sound is great (if they would work correctly) ...
It no longer works like this, you have to press and hold both hearing aids until they flash blue And after shutting down they will be ready to link again
I'm having an additional issue, i'm having some syncing problems between both earbuds, the cut out and eventually lose comunication between them, the thing is that left one does not turn on any light, not even when they are charging, and is not allowing me to reset that one.
Spent $270 and after a year the left one goes out and the troubleshooting video can’t fix it. I’ve owned a lot of Sony products but this is just a damn shame, and I’m not entirely sure I’ll bring my business back.
When I go to take them out of the case the left one is often telling me to recharge it. The right one and the case battery both appear to be fine. You can’t trust Japanese electronics anymore!
this is the worst sony product of all times and im a big fan of sony. my WF1000XM3 hardly EVER connect to my iphone, most of the time it takes 4-5 approaches, resulting in me standing there like an idiot for 10 minutes waiting to connect. thanks but im going back to regular wired headphones. VERY disappointed. and no help from sony either, only "repeat procedure". never again Sony.
I'm using them on a Samsung s10+ and had no problems at all with anything with these earphones. They actually connect super fast with them and the way I have them set up in the settings from the app they have never lost any connection at all at any time of use. I am so impressed with the sound quality as well from these earbuds. I've tried many others at many price points and brands and these by far always ended up being my top choice. Sorry you had a bad experience with them. I wonder why?

Mine too. It's defective just buy a Sennheiser or something. Sony headsets aren't worth the plastic it's made with.

There are settings in the app to prioritize your connection. I've never had any problems at all with them after placing the phone in my pocket and walking all over the place with them. My phone is an Android phone by the way. Samsung s10+ if that makes a difference. Also the app is updated as well to a new version. But like I said, check the settings to what is prioritized.

So my earbuds just started being only able to connect one at a time. Whenever I turn one off, the other connects and vice versa. Tried both methods of resetting and nothing is working. Really sucks because I cant afford another pair of 200 dollar headphones and really expected them to be better coded than this bug-fest.
THIS SAME ISSUE IS HAPPENING TO ME AND ITS DRIVING ME NUTS. WHY ARENT THEY JUST PAIRING TOGETHER I JUST WANT TO GO TO THE GYMMMMMMMMMMMM.

didnt make sense to me. When i put them in the case the its bright red already, cant turn on something thats already turned on, and its conencted, its just a really weak sound on the left one. guess ill have to keep troubleshooting. Ive hardly used them and i payed alot of money.
Didn't work for me - although what worked for me was pressing them both until one of them flashed
just bought them 3 days ago, worked ok until I downloaded the latest firmware, now I can not pair to Macbook Pro M1 (brand new machine) and they connect to my Xiaomi (only one side working). Sony .. EXTREMELY dissapointed. The sound is great (if they would work correctly) ...
There is no latest firm wire so what then?

Try and do it with that charger port slightly bent downward. as soon as earbud lights up, do what the video says

Put the buds in yr ears and touch both sensor..it will go into pairing mode..if it doesn't work,just factory reset yr buds.
Smd, my right earbuds volume is half of the volume on the left... didn't get better after reset

It no longer works like this, you have to press and hold both hearing aids until they flash blue And after shutting down they will be ready to link again
I'm having an additional issue, i'm having some syncing problems between both earbuds, the cut out and eventually lose comunication between them, the thing is that left one does not turn on any light, not even when they are charging, and is not allowing me to reset that one.

Sometimes they randomly stop working for a few minutes just because you stopped playing music. Then you have to pair them again. Yawn.

Spent $270 and after a year the left one goes out and the troubleshooting video can’t fix it. I’ve owned a lot of Sony products but this is just a damn shame, and I’m not entirely sure I’ll bring my business back.
They just kept flickering for me. Tried resetting. Started flickering again after reset. Both sides don't connect.
Worst headphones I’ve ever purchased. Nothing but trouble.

When I go to take them out of the case the left one is often telling me to recharge it. The right one and the case battery both appear to be fine. You can’t trust Japanese electronics anymore!
this is the worst sony product of all times and im a big fan of sony. my WF1000XM3 hardly EVER connect to my iphone, most of the time it takes 4-5 approaches, resulting in me standing there like an idiot for 10 minutes waiting to connect. thanks but im going back to regular wired headphones. VERY disappointed. and no help from sony either, only "repeat procedure". never again Sony.
I'm using them on a Samsung s10+ and had no problems at all with anything with these earphones. They actually connect super fast with them and the way I have them set up in the settings from the app they have never lost any connection at all at any time of use. I am so impressed with the sound quality as well from these earbuds. I've tried many others at many price points and brands and these by far always ended up being my top choice. Sorry you had a bad experience with them. I wonder why?
