A film by Basile Pierrat
Varanasi is a project born out of an artistic encounter between Kalki, the DJ and techno/trance producer, and Basile Pierrat.
The film was created on the base of a common vision: a project without concession, only answering to their own aesthetic and artistic vision. A music video that had therefore to be entirely realized without any label or agency.
Basile Pierrat got a bit crazy and started this shooting with just a script, a camera and a one-way ticket to New Delhi as the only preparation.
Completely alone, in the middle of this beautiful and insane country, a film to produce within a month: an unforgettable experience and a big challenge.

Bro last week I visited varanasi... Due to this corona virus I stuck over there.... But I didn't realise that lord bholenath wants me to be in his arms... Had conversation with lot of foreneirs and lit it up Aghori over there... For four days I have seen each and every ghat and each and every temple.... Had 9 times bath in Ganga it's like a blessing from Mata.... A solo traveller like me gave me a complete knowledge on what the life that we have to live in india 🙏🙏... A walk of 180 to prayaga is done in one and half day due to no transportation... At the early mrng at triveni sangamam the view is like we are in heaven..... It's was an adventurous and most memorable moment in my life... Jai bholenath 🙏

I so miss varanasi. i miss smoking on ghats, i miss Ganga Aarti ... in video there is a place where some boys are playing cricket. i smoked at that place, by river side with a local friend... after smoking... the saw river, the boats , the tourists recoding videos, the birds flying over, the ruins, the place on the other side of river, the horses out there for horse riding, the boys playing cricket.. we sitting on the dirty floor.. then we (me and my local friend) decided to go other side of the river. we walked on the street to reach to ghat where we can hire boats. we didn't want to tour, we just wanted to cross river.. there was these babas sitting on the ghats.. I don't have any pictures of that time but it's so much weaven into my mind.. it's a very peacefull memory. the day ended by Ganga arti.. we sat on the ghat, watching those pujaris, all dressed same, carrying diya in there hands, there was no verbal Arti, it was just sounds of bells... every bell healing me, every sound of bell calming me, god...I wanna die on those ghats.. I want my last memory so peaceful.so connecting to my soul. OM NAMAH SHIVAY . JAI GANGA NADI.
